Oreos & seltzer…you know the drill

photo.JPG

Last day of the Oreos for $2.05/2 with free water thrown in and I was certainly not gonna pass it up! DH came to help unload the car and yelled “Stop buying so much water! You have enough!” Uh, yeah, like I’m gonna turn down free sparkly water. Heck, I’ll sell the Oreos if I have to (but some little bird is telling me that’s not very likely!).  While I love my Jewel, I have to admit that Dominicks has the better clearance meat section:  The chicken kebobs were $2.50 a pound, the beef was $3 and they looked very healthy.

  1. Are you going to deconstruct the kabobs or use as is?
When Kroger clearances out the 5 package of vegetable kabobs for $0.99 I take 5 or 6 or however many there are and deconstruct. They are a steal–red onions, large cremini caps, zucchini, yellow squash and
    colored peppers.

    • I wish I’d rest this before I started cooking these! We were out of charcoal, so I used a cast iron griddle/grill thing over two burners and grilled them that way. It would have been WAY easier to take them apart. Easy and brilliant and thank you for the next time.

  2. Sorry for the delay in commenting. Low on charcoal–not in this household–the DH considers himself born to
grill. So come spring and bbq season(remember I am in
Houston) , he points out every Kingsford deal and finds the best. I must have 20 large bags of charcoal in the garage. There is no way we will use all of these by next spring– so the inventory accumulates.
