CVS blow out sales

JUST got back from my second CVS trip of the day – this one took hours.  Started to feel I had the EC camera crew following me around.

Right now the All Oxi-Active 28 load bottles are ringing up at $2.  Use the $1 coupon and pay a buck a bottle.  Wait, you say – do you think I’m rich?  A valid point, so let’s reduce it some.  Since this detergent is part of the Spend $30 get $10 CVS gift card promotion, you can either take all All or a combination of All and Finish.  I chose the latter.  Ended up with 19 bottles of All and six Finish (totaling $59, within the threshold of the $60 for two more gift cards.  Used 19 of the $1 All coupons from 1/1 rp and 6 of the $2.15 Finish coupons from 1/1 S to bring the total down to $27.10.  Paid using ecbs I was trying to burn and had the $20 put on a CVS gift card.

I’m exhausted, so left most of the detergent in the car…you’ll have to take my word for it.

Here’s a picture from the earlier trip:  9 boxes of Finish and a couple of Listerine Total Care.  Since the CVS ad showed a $1 coupon discount on the 500 ml size bottles but the actual coupon specified 1L or higher, they agreed to accept the $1 coupons, which makes the price 99¢.  It’s rough paying for stuff that used to be free or a MM, but until those deals come around again, you make the best deal you can.

Note that ALL of the Renpure products shown were marked 75% off or $1.87 each.  This was separate from the upcoming store reset, so please be sure to check your own CVS stores for these incredible deals.

CVS – Finish deal

Hey!  Quit bombarding the male cashiers with questions about the Finish deal/coupons, etc.  These males are pretty (read: completely) clueless when it comes to anything coupon-related.  So far we’ve got them trained to take down your name, phone number and amount to order – let’s not go for brain-overload, okay?

I will be dropping off about150 inserts (maybe a few more) to the Naperville CVS later this afternoon (must get dressed).  In any event, buying more than a few boxes will require the special orders, which will come in on Wednesday…bring your scissors ’cause I ain’t your clippin’ bitch…

CVS – week of 1/8

Great deals are very hard to predict because not only can’t we be certain of what coupons will appear in the inserts, but IPs miraculously show up one day and make the deals.  The Dulcolax at both CVS and Wags get you the product for only .99 after in-ad (Wags) and $4 Dulcolax IP, for example.

The big deal is for Finish Powerball dishwasher 10-20 ct boxes.  They’re on sale for 2/$7 and part of the Spend $30 get a $10 CVS gift card.  Buy NINE for $31.50, use nine of the $2.15 coupon from 1/1/2012 SS, pay $12.15 and get back $10 in ecbs.  Since you can run this promotion five times per week per card, use the first $10 to pay for the next four.  Even though you’re paying high tax, it’s still only 24¢ a box.

And to sweeten the deal, I’m dropping off a stack of the 1/1 S inserts to help things along.  Here’s what you must do:  Call the Naperville CVS today as soon as possible (630/548-2057).  Tell the cashier that you want to be put on the Finish special order list with your name, phone and quantity required.  If the Finish is the only card deal you’re running this week, you can get 45 boxes in total per card.  The inserts will be held until pick up, when you must clip your own.

Remember, if you don’t get your order in today by early afternoon, you will have to get a rain check and I can’t guarantee that it will come with the gift card.

Newest IPs – LOTS and you must print them all!

For the most part, these are the same value coupons appearing in today’s paper, so if you want/need extras, print now before they disappear (they JUST appeared).  I’m going for the Listerine deal at CVS today (ends up at .99 for the bottles), so if you’re doing the same, it’s limit 2 per card.  The Wags deal ends up at $3.49 (!).  and yes i know that the wags bottle is 1L vs the CVS 500 ml but do the math…

$2.00 off 1 REMBRANDT Toothpaste or Mouthwash
2.00 off any two (2) REACH Toothbrushes
$1.00 off any (1) LISTERINE WHITENING Rinse
$1.00 off any (1) LISTERINE Antiseptic Mouthwash

Use the Neutrogena coupons with the stuff you’re buying for the official Neutrogena Rebate Form (starts today).

CVS – Centrum ProNutrient is in & Nivea!

AND NIVEA!

Just got a text from Emily that the Centrum ProNutrients came in today’s delivery and she has a lot!  How many constitutes a lot?  I don’t know… but give her a call and put in your order.  Remember, her store manager has said the expired coupons can be used but you must have the rain check.

CVS – yesterday’s trip

Sorry, sorry, sorry, but completely forgot I hadn’t hit publish!  I stopped in to pick up a few boxes of Nicorette gum and lozenges.  They’re on sale this week for $39.99 with a $10 ecb and a $15 insert coupon plus those $5/$25 email coupons.  I’ve been rolling older ecbs into this one like mad and using my gift card for tax.  The best one was when I somehow got down to 35¢ – I still have over $75 in ecbs expiring over the next couple of weeks.  Hurry, resets!

CVS – Nicorette gum $14.99 OOP update update

If you need more $15 Nicorette coupons, there’s a new one on red plum to print.

I forgot that the 1/1 rp has a $15 coupon, so your numbers get substantially better – $8 better!  Your OOP in this case would be $14.99.

CVS has Nicorette products on sale for $39.99 (usually $50) as part of the Spend $25 get $10 ecbs promotion and there’s a $7 coupon for the gum and lozenges on the Nicorette site.  Says you have to register, but I typed “coupon” in the search box, ended up at the “thanks for registering” page and was able to print out two coupons (and I don’t even smoke)!  So your final cost is $22.99.  thanks to OP on sd

WM and CVS today

Did a quick run to Walmart to score some KY overage.  They had four boxes of the $2.84 stuff on the shelf, so at least some overage.  The Glen Ellyn store does not carry the Muir Glen product line, so check your local store…perhaps it’s a SuperWalmart item only.

Then off to CVS for Skinny Cow, among other things.  You see here eight boxes of the Bayer Advanced 20 ct.  These were the .99 Black Friday deals that didn’t come in, so we all got rain checks.  The $1.50 coupons make for some nice overage, which I used to bring down the crazy prices on the Proglide razor and cartridges.  P&G is really going to piss off people, not just couponers…While I was standing in line, an older man came up to buy the large pack of cartridges using the $5 coupon.  Hadn’t read the wording and was, frankly, pissed.  He said that all the past coupons were for $5 off, not buying two products so forget it.  Bad move, P&G.

But on a positive note, here’s what we can do with this razor deal:  Buy two Proglide razors at $10.99 each.  Use the $5 coupon and you’re down to $16.98.  Each product earns you $5 in ecbs, so $6.98 scores two razors and four cartridges, the same count as the $17.79 package!

The above scenario is only guaranteed at the Naperville CVS – all other stores ymmv.

various drug store bits and pieces

A very happy first day to you all.  Looks like all the stores want us to stay home and spend quality time with our families because these deals (and coupons) sure suck.  If there’s a deal out there, it’s hiding under a Chuckie Cheese flyer. And before I forget, make sure you clip the $2 Tide coupon on page 15 of the first section of the Sunday Chicago Tribune.  Not that it’s a fantastic value, but another Tide coupon is always welcome.  Store it in with the other $2 Tide coupon in the middle of the January P&G insert.

The home delivery papers here all got a 2012 calendar from Menards/Chicago Tribune.  The Trib provided the photos and Menards provided the monthly coupons.  Maybe it’s time to start hitting up Menards, especially since they’re running an 11% rebate promotion this month.  Their rewards program is similar to CVS, in that it’s a store credit, not cash back.

Moved this from the Comments section:  “You can make this an additional one dollar money maker by instead of buying the $100 fixed amount Vanilla Visa gift card, buy the one that is a variable amount in which you can put anywhere from $20 to $500 on it. The activation fee on that one is $4.95 and on the fixed amount gift cards the activation fee is $5.95. But be careful if you buy the variable amount Vanilla Visa gift card remember to buy the one that is GOLD color, with ribbon on the front, vanilla logo on the back. DO NOT buy one that is variable and has silver and black packaging and says “ONE VANILLA” on it because that one will not track nor will you get your +UP. But I have personally tested and can confirm the variable amount Vanilla Visa that is gold in color and has bow on it WILL produce the $20 +UP and only has a $4.95 activation fee making you an extra dollar off this deal.”  blatantly stolen from Cuckoo for Coupon Deals

I see nothing jumping out from the Walgreens insert, but as is usually the case, stuff just appears unexpectedly (weird clearances, BOGOs that shouldn’t be…).  We’ll keep hoping for a better couple of months from our old pals at Wags.

One bright spot on the CVS horizon is that sometime in the next few weeks the Naperville store will be doing their annual reset.  This is the entire store reset, not the clearancing out a bunch of cosmetics or a few hair colors.  When this happens, products will be marked down to dirt (can we say a buck?) just to get them out the door.  As soon as I have more info on dates, products, I’ll post.  Ask at your local CVS when they run their own resets and let us know, please.

Those of you with Rite-Aid stores (and I’m really jealous right now) can score some FREE $$$$ this entire month.  Meryl emailed me this deal days ago, but I didn’t post ’cause there isn’t a Rite-Aid within 100 miles of Chicago – sorry!  Basically, you buy a $100 Vanilla Visa card ($5.95 activation fee) and receive a $20 +Up Reward (that’s the Rite-Aid program similar to CVS ecbs).  Your actual cost would be about $87 for a $100 Visa card.  Again, I’m not sure if you can pay for this with +Up rewards or if the limit is one per week or promotion (January).  Any more info, please let us know.

CVS – a very close shave

bad pun…but I just got back from CVS, checking out possible deals for the next couple of weeks.  I noticed that the Proglide razors are $10.99 with a $5 ecb (limit one per card).   So far so good because there was supposed to be a $5 coupon in tomorrow’s P&G.  Well, I now hear that it’s a $5 off a razor when you purchase a cartridge refill which retails for about $17!  So this totally blows any deals, as far as I can see.   You’d pay $17.99 plus $10.99 ($27.99) less the $5…spend $22.99 and get back $5 in ecbs.  Ahhh, no, i don’t think so.

btw, you could pick up those same Gillette Fusion Power Cartridges, 4-Count on Amazon for $13.18 on subscribe & save, and you’d be using your swag money to pay!

If anyone can see a way out here, let us know or if I’m wrong on the coupon wording.
