All the news that fits – III

Which leads me to the main point, which is:  STOCK UP NOW!  Unless you’ve spent the past six months drunk as a skunk (sorry, skunks), you’ve seen the incredible shrinking coupon, along with its first cousin, the higher requirement coupon.  Seriously, catalinas are printing for $1 off 15 yogurts?!

The CVS sale on Tide starting tomorrow is a case in point:  Spend $30 and get a $10 gas card – limit five gas cards per loyalty card. Tide is $5.99, so buy five and get one $10 gas card.  Buy 25 and you’re set for quite some time, because right now we’re looking at coupons like the following:  the $2/2 coupon on the right is from the current P&G insert and the $2/3 on the left is from the one in tomorrow’s paper.  That’s a big chunk of change the consumer is being forced to give up.

So listen up and stock up.  We’ve all got ecbs to roll/burn so make the most of them.  Always cheaper to shop the stockpile.

Wednesday freebies

Free sample of TriCalm hydrogel. This sample cream was offered earlier and hit its limit, so you may or may not get another one.

Free Amazon APP of the Day is Smiley Blaster AdFree.  Burst the bubbles with the smiley blaster. Shoot the blaster in the crowd and take out as much as possible.

FREE Unreal candy bar coupon on the CVS Facebook page. You have to enter your loyalty card(s) and your coupon will be sent via email. These candies are “copies” of M&Ms, Reese’s, Snickers…but made with sugar and natural food dyes (beet juice, etc.).

Today and tomorrow (8/22 & 8/23), Ulta Salons are offering up a FREE Fekkai PrX Reparative shampoo and conditioning treatment and blow dry plus T3 voluminous hot rollers demo between 5 and 9 PM.  Call your local store and make an appointment

You can also get a FREE Fekkai Coif Sheer Hold Hairspray 11.6 oz ($39 value) with any $25 or more Fekkai purchase!

Confession time:  I love this line.  Yes, the tiny shampoos and conditioners (4 oz) at Wags and CVS are $10, but did I say I LOVE THIS LINE?!!!

CVS – week of the 26th

The Spend $30 and get a $10 gas card returns!  There are two pages of qualifying items, along with additional items throughout the ad.  Limit of 5 gas cards per loyalty card.  Good timing, too, ’cause the only gas we’ve been able to afford lately is from my white chili…

Tide at $5.99, although I wonder how many people in the world haven’t yet stocked up.  Don’t answer, ’cause I already ran it by Rachel who get daily emails from people looking for good laundry detergent deals.  I suppose if you’ve been in a coma or new to couponing… Use the $2/2 coupon in the 7/29 P&G.

Pantene ’cause of the $3/2 coupon in the 7/29 P&G insert (same one has a $2/2 for Tide).
Halo is part of the gas deal, selling for $9.99.  Would be nice if we got coupons, huh?   I don’t know what versions/flavors CVS carries.

Simple Pleasures is 2/$6, get a $1 ecb when you buy two.  Use the $2 coupon in 8/19 S.

Tresemme is 2/$6.97 and part of the same Spend $30 gas deal.  $3/2 coupon in 8/12 S.

Any of the Maybelline cosmetics because they’re part of the deal and there’s a $1 coupon in the 8/05 rp.  It’s also Buy1 get one 50% off.

Gevalia for $5.99 a 12 oz bag.  There were BOGO AND $1 coupons available earlier so you’re talking $4.99 for two bags of coffee.  I tried this at a private party at BlogHer and was blown away by how smooth it was.

Double check your inserts to make certain the coupons actually appeared in your area.  Those wanting to go the buy route have enough time to place orders.

CVS Revlon lipstick MM

I apologize for the lateness of this post, but I thought I’d hit publish before I set out earlier this afternoon.  Imagine my surprise when I noticed so many posts in the draft folder!

CVS has a Revlon lip products promotion this week (most of the lines): they’re on sale for $6.49 with $4 in ecbs generated. There is a four per card limit. This wasn’t such a good deal UNTIL the Magic Coupon started spitting out $3 towards Revlon face products! So here’s how I worked the pictured deal: Buy one $6.49 Revlon lip product and pay using the $3 store coupon and the $1 Revlon coupon from either the 8/5 S or 7/22 S inserts. Pay $2.49 and get back $4. Great way to roll any expiring ecbs.

CVS – Head & Shoulders MM

Just had to try this one out, folks:  Buy six Head & Shoulders shampoos and/or conditioners at $4.99.  Subtotal will be $29.94.  Use three BOGO coupons from the July P&G (expiring Tuesday).  The weird part is that these coupons scan at $9.49 each – and do not require any action on the part of the cashier.  You are left with $1.47 plus tax.  Pay it and get back a $5 ecb.  And do you think I would push to use that $1 coupon from the August P&G?  Heck, no!

CVS – use coupons before 31st shopping…update

Lisa bought six of the Head and Shoulders using the BOGO coupons only – the $1 coupon beeped and was rejected. However…those three BOGO coupons scanned at $9.49 each and the entire purchase generated a $5 ecb!  Totally weird!CVS has a great deal going on for the next few days with the Olay “Spend $30 get $5 ecbs” promotion.  It relies on using coupons from the 7/01 P&G, which expire July 31st paired with coupons from this week’s red plum.  Buy four of the Olay daily facial cloths at $3.74 each.  Use the $3/2 coupon from the 7/01 P&G.  Today’s P&G has a BOGO coupon for one body wash when you buy one Olay daily facial cloths, so toss that one in the mix.  Here’s the kicker, though:  Most cards are printing out a $3/$15 or $4/$20 coupon for the Olay from the Magic Coupon Machine!  Here’s the recap:

4 Olay daily facial cloths = $14.96 less $6 from two coupons = $8.96.  Body wash is completely free (except for high tax).  Use the $3 or $4 coupon from the Magic Coupon Machine and you’re at $5.96 or $4.96.  You will then get back a $5 ecb. for purchasing $25 worth of products.  Here’s the best part:  Use that receipt showing you purchased $30+ worth of Olay products and submit it for a $10 rebate.  Note that this is not a new rebate offer, so if you’ve already sent in for one, you’re SOL.

Other not-so-bad deals.  Head & Shoulders shampoo and/or conditioners are part of the same Spend $25 get $5 ecb promotion.  Buy six at $4.99 and use three BOGO coupons from the 7/01 P&G insert (expires 7/31) plus the $1 coupon from today’s P&G.  Pay $8.97 and get back $5 ecb.  You’re effectively paying .66 a bottle, not FREE, but very cheap if you use this brand.

If you’re only looking for FREE, grab a bunch of the Suave products, which are part of a Spend $12 and get $4 ecb promotion.  Your biggest bang for the buck would be the deodorants, which are $1 each.  Buy 12, use .75 from today’s red plum to pay $3 and get back $4 ecbs.  If you don’t have/want that much stink stick, choose one of the other products, like the body wash or professional shampoo.  The coupons aren’t as high a value, but you’ll still be getting a bag of potential donation items for very little money.

And here’s something that would be a total waste of money to buy … but it sure is cute!  This 6 load Tide sells for $3.19!  I suppose it would be a perfect size for hauling to the laundromat or if someone has difficulty in lifting the larger bottles (and you can always refill it), but it’s that first $3.19 that would choke me.

CVS & free Mars candy

Hope you’re scanning your card(s) every day for your free Mars candy bars.  But what’s better than free?  A money-maker, that’s what!  Click here to go to Coupons.com and print out a .75/2 Milky Way coupon.  I found it on page three under foods.  Print two per computer and use the overage on something else!

Note:  If you’re new to printing on Coupons.com, after you’ve printed out your first coupon, that coupon will drop back to the very last page, so don’t go insane looking for it where you found it originally!

CVS – Magic Coupon Machine update

The $`1/2 Mars candy bars coupon is spitting out every day so far – even though the coupon is good through the end of the month, the Mars candy bars are only on sale this week,  Don’t wait!

Readers have gotten FREE CVS kids gummy vitamins lately – I, alas, did not.

Some readers are getting a $2 off any body wash or bar soap.  Use this on the Yardley bar soap on sale this week for 69¢.  You could take two for free or three for 7¢.  Me?  I’d pay the 7¢ if you only have one or two cards; otherwise, free is the way to go!  Note that CVS is on to me ’cause my coupons all had $2 when you spend $8…time for a new card!

CVS for freebies

The Magic Coupon Machine today started spitting out $1/2 Mars candy bars, which ties in nicely with the 2/$1 sale on Snickers (my favorite)!  Every card is getting this sweet deal, folks!

In today’s Smart Source there is a $2 off any Stayfree product.  While I know the Chicago Tribune insert got the coupon, some of the smaller papers did not.  It might be worth buying a few coupons for stock up purposes.

Wags has these on sale for $1.99, CVS has an assortment of them for $2 and RiteAid has a $3 deal where you get a $1+ Up back.  Don’t forget that you can always price match at Walmart, too, if your store(s) don’t have sufficient stock.

Today’s Smart Source (all papers) has a $2 off any Organix body wash or hair product – check your drug stores for clearance products because I’ve been seeing lots of Organix at 50% off.  CVS has a Spend $10 and get $5 ecbs, but unfortunately Organix is higher than $5 and less than $10.  Cheapest deal would be two of the $6.99 shampoos or conditioners, use the two $2 coupons to pay, after ecbs, about the same as the 50% off clearance prices!  It’s your call, but this is a really good shampoo/conditioner line – the smell from the coconut one makes me hungry for Mounds bars.
