Target?

Got this possible dog food/treats email yesterday from Baby mama, who writes:

So if you do the target deal for the Beneful food you get a coupon for $1.50 off baked snacks. (I’m not sure of dates on these but just got them)

Anyway, there’s a coupon in the 3/18 S for B1G1 baked snacks + the $1.50 coupon + $2 Target Coupon.

$3.89+$3.89 – 1 free = $3.89 – $1.50 = $2.39 – $2 TQ = $0.39

I know you love Target as much as I do but might be something people are interested in. The bogo is up to $4.29 but the price around here is $3.89. Idk what the register will do. Could be an even better deal maybe. Idk.

Just throwing it out there.

Oh and when you buy the baked snacks you get a q for $2 off beneful 3.5lb or larger. Which you could roll into $1.49 dog food if you don’t have the insert q’s.

and she’s right about my love/hate relationship with Target.  I’ve never, ever had anyone be other than polite to me, but I hate their register receipts more than Dominicks and I can never find sufficient quantities of their deals.  But since my CVS deal is limited to the number of cards I have, I can always pick up more canine crack at Target.

Shelter donation pictures

Rhonda sent these pictures of Jillian and her sister with all the goodies collected for the Lamb Fold shelter donations.  You guys were very clever in what you donated – baby formula, for instance – things certainly needed but ones I hadn’t thought of!  Again, thanks to all.  Click the pictures to enlarge.  I’ve had people ask about doing something like this on a regular basis (not every week or even every month and/or possibly different shelters, homes, etc.) – any thoughts?

Shelter donations – update

Many, many thanks to those who braved the cold and biting winds to bring their donations to the CVS parking lot.  Boy, did Jillian and her mom get more items than they expected!  Rhonda has promised to email pictures of all the items when Jillian turns them over to Lambs Fold during the week which I’ll be sure to post.  Pat yourselves on the back for a job well done!

There will be a drop off/pick up for the women’s shelter donations tomorrow, Saturday the 3rd around noon in the Naperville CVS store (corner Naper & Ogden) parking lot.  Rhonda has agreed to pick up the items, since it’s quite a haul for most readers (especially the out-of-state ones!).

Let us know if this works for you or your need a different time or date.  I definitely can’t answer for Rhonda ( [email protected]), but maybe someone else will help with logistics for those people.

Reader request – update

I spoke with John at CVS about allowing drop offs for this cause.  It’s a complete no-go because of corporate policy:  NO ONE is allow to solicit,  That’s why you won’t see the Salvation Army bell ringers or signs on the doors for lost dogs, etc.  Sorry, but there is absolutely nothing he can do about this.  So where are we at for drop off locations, etc.?

Rhonda, a reader and a frequent commenter, sent me the following email request:

Recently, I have been posting some of my finds on your blog. Normally, I’m don’t do the crazy couponing, but I have a very sweet reason for all my crazy couponing. It’s kind of exciting too. One of my co-workers, who has a 7 year old daughter  has requested that her family and friends not give her any birthday presents. Instead, she has requested that they make donations to Lambs Fold, a battered women’s shelter in Joliet. It has really touched my heart that such a young person could be so selfless.  I have been working very hard to get her everything that I can for to donate. I would appreciate it it so much if you could reach out to your friends, followers, fellow bloggers, and families to see if they would be interested in making a donation to Lambs Fold in the name of Jillian.

I assume she means stockpile donations, ’cause I haven’t seen the cash cow in some time.  It’s a worthy request, so I’ll be the first to donate.  How about 25 or 30 Revlon nail polishes – decent colors?  Taking time for yourself, just as a pamper-me type event, would probably go a long way towards rebuilding self-esteem.  And as MUM knows, I can also bring my trusty orange Whiffle bat for ex’s if asked.

Let us know what you all think and if you’d be able to help.  Also, there would have to be a central pick-up/drop off location, since not only is Joliet not convenient for so many of you, but they usually keep the location of these houses a secret.

the warehouse called…they want their stock back

Reader sent this picture – you guys really make me laugh!  And apparently, there’s more coming with the special orders every one is placing.  One person put in (and paid) for a 300+ special order at Jewel  –  wow, that’s a lot of pain…must be married.

New Page on swaps

No, you pervs, coupons!  Beth suggested that we have a page set up for readers to post what coupons they have and what they are looking for.  Use the search box and see what comes up.  Mind you, I am not setting this up as a way for anyone to sell their coupons – I’m not even talking about the legal phrases here – but a way to exchange diaper coupons for Tena pads or whatevers.  Post what you are looking for and what you have to trade and quantities of each.

If anyone is looking for recently expired coupons, I have a very good eBay Seller who is cheap and fast (kinda like my cooking).  Contact me for her info and if enough people ask, I’ll post it.

Stockpile sales

Given the unexpectedly high number of responses to Kathy’s request a couple of weeks ago, Shirley has decided to brave my insane readers and has sent the following list of items she’s interested in purchasing:

Hi everyone. I am looking for the following items. I live in Glen Ellyn (60137) and I can meet you somewhere that is convenient for both of us. If you have any of those that you no longer need, please email me at [email protected]. Thank you.
Joint juice 30 day supply glucosamine + chondroitin (individual packets in a box)  $0.75
Estroven  $0.5
Luster white toothpaste (NOT the sensitive ones) – expiration date at least a year from now $0.5
Breathe right strips $0.10 each strip
Neuragen $1
Culturelle Probiotic Digestive Health $0.75
Thermacare heat wrap $0.25
This could work out to be very cool for both sides.

Reader’s deals

Periodically I get emails with photos of the latest and greatest of your awesome deals – here’s one from David, who writes:  I’m sure you’ll recognize this deal from Jewel.  I like to call it – Guerilla Shopping.  GREAT JOB, DAVID.

Walgreens $2 MM

Thanks to Nicole, who has been bugging the shit (no pun intended) out of me for the past couple of weeks about this sweet MM.  I confess that I’ve been so focused on CVS, that the few things at Wags kinda slipped by.

Starting Thursday and continuing through Saturday, Walgreens will have Preparation H Totables 10-ct pack on sale for $2.75 with $2.75 Register Reward.  Click here to give Pfizer your info and you’ll be able to download a $2 coupon.
