New Jewel Coupons Booklet

Spotted a new booklet at Jewel today, “Fall into good things.”  Make sure you look around your Jewel for these; mine were on a display near the entrance.  I took a few (few, henceforth shall be defined as more than one).  While they aren’t what I’d call high value, there are a couple of $1 Tyson coupons that made my heart flutter.  Don’t forget, even if you can’t use them by the 11/30/10 exp. date (for the Tyson qs), you can always trot them over to Dominicks sometime during the coming year.  By the way, these coupons all have varied expiration dates.  which is really stupid.

Jewel today

Do we know how to party or what?  Seriously, used five of my hot dog coupons and then ran the Cool Whip in separate transactions of five each.  Total OOP was $.45, damn taxes!

I read about using Cool Whip as a coffee creamer, so I’m going to let the containers sit on the counter until they melt and then pour them into  bottles.  At that point I can load some into the fridge for immediate use and put the extras in the freezer.  Since there’s lots of volume due to air, melting them should use up lots less space for my freezer tetris.  Well, that’s the game plan anyway.  Let you know how it tastes, but honestly, who can claim that Coffeemate is a health beverage…

Remember to check your receipts and make sure you get your stamps.  People have commented that they didn’t get a stamp “because they were using coupons.”  Today my hot dogs receipt didn’t show I was eligible, but CS checked over the receipt and gave me one.

OM Hot Dogs – FREE – update

If you want to pick up some free hot dogs, listen up:  Go to coupons.com and enter a 33310 zip code.  Now check for the $1/1 Oscar Meyer any package of hot dogs coupon.  Be careful, there is a $1/2 hot dog coupon that comes up on the first page – ignore and continue to the second or third page.  Print it out, go back to the coupons and print out another one.  THEN, head over to couponbug.com and enter the same 33310 zip code and look for the same coupon.  Again, it may be on the second or third page.  Print, go back to the coupons and find it again and print.  Now you have four coupons (if you have only one computer).   Mashupmom has a link to Kraft for another two coupons.  Same routine, print, back, print.  The more computers, the more free hot dogs.  How does this work you may ask?  Well, I’ll explain…

Get your mitts on more computers.  With five coupons, you buy 5 packages of hot dogs, pay $10.  Give ’em the $5 coupons and five dollars and get back a $5 catalina.  If you have a cat from a prior cheese or Cool Whip purchase, use that.  Free hot dogs are good hot dogs.  Especially since it’s Labor Day Grilling Time.

Free deserts!

Take a free Fruit Smoothie container from Dominicks, glop in some free Cool Whip from Jewel (we are a non-discriminating grocery household) and what do you have to go with your $1.93 Culinary Circle pizzas?  Yummy deserts.  Take the pineapple/mango one, drain out the pineapple juice (OK, I just drank it, are you happy now?), glop some Cool Whip on the bottom of a fancy glass, toss in the pineapple, pour the mango puree over and toss another glop of Cool Whip in top.  Easy peasy and looks like you spent seconds.

A Tale of Two Grocery Stores

with apologies to Charles Dickens….

Even though it’s supposed to work, sometimes deals just don’t, so I usually try them out before posting.  Well, Dominicks OOP was $3.06 and Jewel was $5.45, but since I ended up with a $5 cat my actual cost was $.45, and I got two more pots stamps, since each cheese transaction was for $10.  The Cool Whip was only $5, so I ate it (get it?  sometimes I just kill myself).

Jewel Pots and Pans update

I’ve heard from people who were unable to get their stamps because the total was zero (think Ken’s dressing or the Kraft cheese deal) after coupons but before tax.  This seems to be a glitch in the registers, so make sure you keep your receipts and head over to CS and have them issue the stamps.  One reader was told that she was not owed stamps “Since you used coupons.”  Which, as we all know, is the fallback line of the Stupids.  Since the cashiers initial each redeemed receipt, an unmarked receipt should be proof enough for CS.

Free Cheese is Good Cheese! UPDATE

Here is the link to print the Kraft buy 5 get $5 off.  (Thanks CW) Today’s print would give you an exp. of 10/1/10.  Bound to link up soon, so free or almost-free cheese.  Free cheese is good cheese!  Don’t forget to print the first coupon, then hit the back key for one more.  Each computer can print two coupons, so if you have access to more than one computer (even if linked to the same printer), you can print out two from each.

Jewel’s new ad has the Kraft natural chunks and shredded not only on sale for 2/$4, but also part of the Buy 5 get $5 OYNO.  So you buy 5, pay $10 and use your $5 coupon.  Pay $5 and get back $5, so your actual OOP is … what’s the word we love?  FREE!

Another freebie is the Cool Whip 8 oz. container at 5/$5 sooooooo FREE!  No coupons available for this one and you can’t use the Kraft $5/5 as a MM, since it is specifically good on dairy products.  My guess is that it would still work (if it’s coded for the same family), but wouldn’t be ethical.  Yes,even I do have some standards, low though they may be.  Since the deals, worked legitimately, are always so fantastic, why blow your relationship with your store’s personnel?  Another way to put it:  Do you want to be known as the coupon genius who always gets it right or watch her, she’ll try to cheat.

Jewel updates

Don’t forget to get as many of the Culinary Circle pizzas as you can cram into your freezer by tomorrow 9/1.  Buying 7 will cost you about $13.50, which is dirt cheap for great tasting pizzas.  Taking them out of their boxes frees up lots of space; it’s easy to tell which is which.

Try to get rain checks for the Ice Mountain Aquapods which are currently on sale for $1 an 8 pk.  There are $1.50/2 coupons out there, which brings down the cost to .50/2.  BUT, if you can get a rain check on the last day or so of the sale (shelf tag says 9/5),  starting September 6th there is a OYNO cat.  Best scenario to play after 9/6:  buy 4 for $4, use two coupons and pay $1, then get a $3 cat!  Deal does not stack, so you have to run it in sets of 4.   I love it when they pay me to drink their product.  Last time Ice Mountain ran a cat was earlier this summer at Dominicks.  I ended up with 126 bottles of the 1L sparkling water for which they paid me about $20.  Goes well with cheap pizza.  Hell, everything goes well with cheap pizza!

Pan giveaway update – 2 down, 63 to go

Ok, so yes I like the CC pizza.  very much.  A big thanks to the folks at CW for figuring out the price points to get the best final price are sets of 2, 4, 6 and 7 pizzas.  I wanted to get the best price without sacrificing my $10 stickers, so added 7 of the Ken’s dressings to the order (remember I’m not actually paying for them, since I have the $1 coupons).  Total was over $20 excluding tax, however, the total amount calculated on the receipt was $18.50.  This was because the $2 survey coupon brought down the total to under the $20 threshold.  Manufacturer coupons = good; store coupons = BAD.   So, from now until January 12, 2011, forget about those stupid $2 surveys; they’re a losing proposition.  Same goes for those “Spend $50 get $5 off” cats.  They now = BAD.  Our freezers are now so full that we’re ripping the pizzas out of the boxes before attempting freezer tetris.  Happy stuffing your fat faces!

Ken’s Dressing Coupon Giveaway

I have selected the three winners of the Ken’s Dressing giveaway, who will each receive 10 $1 coupons in the mail.  Luckily, I’ve already clipped them out so they’ll be deposited at the post office tomorrow morning.  Congratulations to Kathy, Lynette and Emily.  Check your emails, please.  Lynette, you used an office email account which says you are out of the office until Monday.  Please contact me with your info, or you won’t be able to get the coupons in time for the deal.  OH NO!!  Thanks to all who participated.  I appreciate all your kind comments.   i would be even more appreciative of money in the mail, but sigh, can’t have everything…
