Groupon plus bonus

I’m sure by now you’ve watched or heard about the Groupon commercials (I thought the Livingsocial one was better) … However, Groupon is still the 800 lb gorilla, so let’s see what they have for us today:  $65 for a 90 minute Gold massage at Enlightened Hands Wellness and Massage in Hinsdale.  While that is a fantastic deal by itself, here’s the sidebar one that rocks:

Donate $15 to Help Greenpeace End Commercial Whaling, and Get Matching Groupon Bucks.  That’s right, give ’em the cash and get 100% credit.  An easy peasy way to contribute since you know you’re gonna be snatching up the deals anyway.  Groupon Bucks available for use after 4/15/2011, voucher expires 6/30/1011.

Groupon

I was gonna post about the Kidtown deal in Schaumburg, but, frankly, I’m getting tired of all the kid stuff.  What about us grownups!  Don’t we deserve cool stuff to do, too?  The daily Groupon (Kidstown) has a right sidebar deal for Exotic Car Rentals in Chicago.  For those of you with reunions coming up this year… impress the hell out of the former jocks now selling insurance.  For $149 you can rent a Boxster, Corvette, or Escalade.  The money can also be applied towards an upgrade for an additional cost (that’s my choice). Limit 2 per person, bikini-clad model not included, vouchers expire May 31, 2011.

Groupon

Lynfred Winery in Roselle is one of today’s right sidebar Groupons.  I actually have first-hand knowledge of this place and their product.  A long-time friend got hooked on them when she lived in Roselle – then she moved to Atlanta… Setting aside the horror of moving to a land where they refer to the Civil War as the War of Northern Aggression…she was unable to fuel her addiction because (at the time) Georgia prohibited liquor shipments to individuals.  Treks up to civilization would always involve Lynfred stock up visits.  And yes, it’s possible that people would kill for their raspberry wine.

So now I share her addiction.  Luckily, they have several outlet stores where you can pick up your faves for far fewer miles.  This daily Groupon is for a private wine tasting party and tour for up to 10 people for $30.  Voucher expires November 6, 2011.

If you have any interest at all, move fast — they are already up to 200 sold.

Groupon

Wow, they’re hitting pretty close to home now…Today’s Groupon is for Lift Ticket and Ski or Snowboard Rental at Four Lakes Snowsports in Lisle.  Choose from three options, starting at $12: for $12, you get a one-day lift ticket (a $25 value); for $20, you get a one-day lift ticket and ski rental (a $41 value)and for $30, you get a one-day lift ticket and snowboard rental (a $63 value). And the best part (to me, anyway)? After you’ve worked up an appetite there’s a pub on the premises that serves burgers, fries, etc. I’ve eaten here a couple of times and thought both the food and service were good and the prices very reasonable.

Groupon

I’m impressed with how local some of these deals are getting.  In the beginning was the word, and the word was CHICAGO…or is that the bird is the word…digression…

Today’s Groupon is for Cabana Charley’s Tiki Bar and Grill in Woodridge.  Note:  I’ve eaten lunch here a couple of times but never with the Tikis.  Decent food/service, always seems to have specials, and a quick drive (on Route 53 in Woodridge).

Usual deets:  $15 voucher for $30 worth of food, limit two vouchers per person, limit one per table, vouchers expire August 3, 2011.

Lasik on the cheap

I wouldn’t post this if I didn’t think it was safe.  What’s the outcome with a poor surgeon – blindness and a service dog discount?  although with the giveaway, the dog stuff would be covered…

Today’s Groupon is a 57% off voucher to Vision One Lasik Center for Lasik surgery at any of their four locations – $1900 instead of the usual $4,400.  Limit one voucher per person, although multiples may be purchased as gifts (who buys Lasik surgery as gifts – an upscale Secret Santa?).

Voucher expires February 1, 2012 and here’s the best part:  Purchasers who decide not to receive surgery will receive a full refund.

Half-Price Bath & Body Works

Today’s Groupon is for your choice of vouchers: $10 voucher for $20 worth of product or $15 voucher for $30 worth, to be used only at the B&BW online store. Limit one voucher per person; voucher expires April 27, 2011.  If voucher is not redeemed, its value drops to actual price paid ($10/$15).

This would be great to pair with the Biatta lingerie, wouldn’t it?  Really come across as the Big Spender.  And ladies, better order it for yourselves and then tell the significant (or in-) other what you’ve ordered and get the cash or you will end up with yet another “practical” gift (“but you need a new carbon monoxide detector”).  you have been warned…

Groupon Evviva

Holy crap!!!  We eat at Evviva all the time!  Decent food, prices, service.  Used restaurant.com certificates here religiously (didn’t think I had faith?  Check out a prior post), but they dropped out of the program.  it happens…sigh…get over it.

So now we can get our cheap eats this way.  Today’s Groupon is $15 for a $30 voucher for food and drinks (major difference from restaurant.com) for Evviva in Lisle.  Limit one voucher per person (boo), one per table.  Voucher expires July 27 2012.  Hurry, they’ve already sold a couple of hundred of these and it’s not a huge place or part of a chain.

Gino’s East 1/2 price Groupon

Update:  When I purchased this for me, I tried clicking on 2 vouchers and it went through and appears in my account as two.  SO TRY IT YOURSELF, since it doesn’t show in the ad as more than one per person.

Well, something for the deep-dish pizza lovers…Get a Gino’s East Groupon voucher for $10 for $20 of dine-in or $7 for $15 worth of carry-out food at any of Gino’s East eight Chicagoland locations.

This deal has a one limit (person/visit/table) and expires July 26, 2011.

Better hurry, peeps ’cause they’ve already sold over 6,000!

Hairy Groupon

With all the laser deals lately for hair and vein removal, there’s bound to be one coming up for cheap Botox and plastic surgery….I’m sitting by the phone…

Today’s Groupon is $99 for 6 hair removal treatments at Laser & Cosmetic Dermatology in either of their locations:  Oak Brook or Palos Hills (again with the south suburbs?)  You can choose upper lip ($400 value), neck ($1,000 value), chin ($500 value), or underarm ($1,000 value).  Once again, this is a right sidebar deal, so just look there.

Limit 2 vouchers per person; under 16 must be accompanied by parent or guardian (I was gonna throw in “or keeper” but that just seems mean).  Vouchers expire in one year.

Was going to throw in some pictures of hairy people, but, trust me, you do not want to check out Google Images… don’t say i didn’t warn you…
