Groupon

Today’s Groupon is neat and odd at the same time:  an ice luge from Nadeau’s Ice Sculptures in Forest Park.  Click on this to see the weird things you can do with ice and alcohol. [note:  this is not the same as weird things you have done involving ice and alcohol – see FB for examples] Also note that this deal is on the right sidebar.

The Ice Luge is 51% off, or $49, for what appears to me to be a gigantic block of ice with tubes running through it – oh, wait – that is what it is!  You pour your “stuff” in the top tube(s) and it comes out really cold at the bottom.  okay then.

Groupon

The best Groupon today (to me, anyway) is located on the right sidebar of the daily deal.  It’s a voucher for vein-removal treatments; at $389, an excellent price for this sort of thing.  You get 5 full-legs Laser vein removal treatments at the Park Ridge Center for Plastic Surgery.  States that it’s a $5,000 value (92% discount).  Limit 2 vouchers per person, vouchers expire July 24, 2011.  Deal is on, but there are a limited number of vouchers available, so don’t procrastinate.

Groupon – oil changes on the cheap

Today’s Groupon is for those peeps in the near-west suburbs; Forest Park peeps, to be exact.  5 oil changes (and all the stuff that goes with it) for $100.   Consolidated Auto Service Center (catchy name, huh?) in Forest Park is offering this deal.  Voucher expires January 10, 2016, so no worries about missing expiration dates.  I don’t see that you are able to buy more than one voucher either for yourself or as a gift.

Red Hen Bakery

I would feel like a cheap shill if I just constantly pushed products with no feedback…various other sites come to mind…my god, you can be such a bitch!  Anyway, we stopped at the Red Hen Bakery in Oak Park today, using one of the three Groupons I got earlier this month.  Here’s a picture of what 13 bucks will get you:

That’s two cinnamon scones, one asiago bagel and one loaf of a bread wiped with olive oil and sprinkled with sea salt…well, i think that’s what it was.  So far the little we’ve eaten has been very tasty indeed – the bread toasts up nicely and for what I paid ($5 Groupon plus the almost $4 overage) it’s well worth it.  I didn’t take the receipt (!), but remember the bread being $4.80.  Would I stop there without a Groupon?  Yeah, for the breads, because it’s a nice change from Panera.

Groupon @ 72% off

In keeping with the beauty stuff, I’m posting this Groupondeal for the southsiders (and why is so much of this stuff directed to them, anyway? – enquiring [read: bored] minds want to know).  Note that this deal is located on the right sidebar.

$99 for photofacial rejuvenation at Ritacca Laser & Cosmetic Surgery Center Laser in Vernon Hills (valued at $350).  They’ve sold well over a hundred and quantities are limited, so if it floats your boat, move quickly.  Limit 2 per person, voucher expires October 17, 2011.

I know that these are nonsurgical procedures, but this picture makes me laugh.

Delta Sonic 1/2 Price!

Finally, a Groupon my husband can grab with both hands:  3 Super Kiss car washes at any of the delta sonic locations for $18!  DH says that this was the 5 car wash price a few years ago (grumble, grumble) but, like everything else, their prices have gone up.  Limit one voucher per person, nothing about gifts, vouchers expire July 14, 2011.

Note: This deal is located on the right hand sidebar. Just click the tab and it’ll take you to the deal. HURRY BECAUSE THEY HAVE ALREADY SOLD OVER 3400 OF THESE VOUCHERS!

Groupon

I’ll be first to admit that this is an odd one: Salt-Cave Session or Infrared Sauna Session at Timeless Spa and Salt Cave in Naperville. However, it’s cheap me-time! So cheap, in fact, that I might just go for it.

  • For $10, you get one 45-minute salt-cave session (a $20 value).
  • For $20, you get one 30-minute infrared sauna session (a $45 value).

Limit one voucher per person, but you may purchase 3 additional vouchers as gifts…

Groupon – La Petite Sweet (Westmont)

Just roll me around, folks, ’cause these food/bakery deals are killing me!  Today’s Groupon give you two options:  $18 for 24 cupcakes or $16 for 2 pounds of gluten-free cookies.  If you have kids in elementary school, you know that most schools have policies in place allowing only purchased cakes/cookies for schoolroom birthday celebrations.  Which usually means swinging over to Jewel or Dominicks for the bakery generics.

Vouchers expire July 11, 2011, limit two vouchers per person, limit one voucher per bakery order, orders require 4 hours notice.  Either cupcake or cookie option (or take one of each!) has a wide selection from which to choose.  They also offer prepackaged selections.

Groupon – GOT MINE!!

Ooh, oooh, oooh!  I am so going for this one!  Groupon has a $5 voucher for $10 worth of baked goods, etc. from The Red Hen.  I drive by the one in Oak Park all the time and want to stop, but I’m always late… Limit three per person, limit one coupon per transaction (like Wags, huh?) which is super easy to work with.  Three locations:  Wicker Park, Lakeview and Oak Park.  can we say yuppies, anyone?

Hey, Rachel, wanna split some of these and go eat in front of Mr. Atkins?

Groupon

I’m posting this one because you can find some awfully cool stuff hand-crafted stuff in this type of store; if you’ve ever been to Ten Thousand Villages, feel free to comment about their selection.  Usual details: $15 for $30 certificate; expires July 4, 2011; limit one per person, but you can purchase two additional certificates as gifts.
