Today’s Groupon is for dinner in Des Plaines. I know some of you live in the northern suburbs, so I’m tossing this bone out to you. Although I prefer the cheapness of the Restaurant.com deals: 1) not all restaurants belong and 2) poor Groupon employees are stuck looking for deals again instead of making whoppee with their share of that six billion bucks. sigh…six billion bucks…
I just started messing around their site and clicked on the link to the West Chicago store. There, on the bottom is a link to “Receive 20% off any (1) item with this coupon!” hint: it can be stored as a pdf file….
First of all, check your Groupon account to make certain you’ve got everything you wanted in there…then go over to American Scientific’s site so the fun can start! Today’s Daily Deal is one to grab, folks! Seriously! Lots of exclamation points!!! This is a wonderful, weird store with loads of things (cheap) for both fun and real life. They have measuring thingies (which I use for the kitchen), little bottles and boxes, fun toys, well the list just goes on and on. Peeps, this is a treasure-trove of a store.
There’s a limit of 2 vouchers per person and 1 per visit (go with friends). So buy a bunch but read the fine print: vouchers expire on June 8, 2011…

Breaking news on the Chicago Trib site claims Groupon has turned down Google’s bid of between $5 and $6 billion, preferring to remain independent. I’m certain when the Groupon people sober up they’ll be in touch…

this is sweet ’cause it’s clearance prices using a clearance voucher! Today’s second Groupon (after American Apparel) is for a $50 voucher to Nordstrom’s Rack (which just sounds soooo wrong) for $25. We’re lucky in the Chicago area because we have quite a few around: Northbrook, Oak Brook, Naperville… in-store purchases, limit 1 per person and expires December 31, 2010.
I recommend that you move quickly on this as they’ve already sold 5,000 and it’s a limited quantity (don’t know the limit).
Just got an email from the annoying people at Groupon: this one day Groupon has been extended through the week-end AND has been modified so that it can be used in B&M stores in cities where there is one (well that only makes sense, right?)

Get a $50 worth of American Apparel (“stuff”) for $25, online only and today only. I might have to actually buy one of these for the PITA’s Christmas present, since she has to be “fashionable” now instead of just the old way – clean.
