I don’t post many of these “deals” cause, quite frankly, to me they suck. Although in fairness, somebody out there must like the stuff and different strokes, etc. Amazon is a great place to order from; spent way too much cashola there over the years. This deal is actually something I could see getting or giving for the holidays: A DVD set of Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations Collections 1-4.

Amazon’s Daily/Hourly Deals
Amazon seems to have put out some very bizarre items today for their deals of the day: Cymbals? OK, maybe these are great prices for the Sabian brand, but really! A whole day of cymbals?
Well, if you need/want them (or sometimes confuse the two), go for it. I’ll be back at Jewel checking on the chicken and stuff.
Amazon Deals of the Day
Amazon has some pretty neat stuff out there – most of which you don’t really need, but boy do you want! Their Gold Box daily and hourly deals today are things like Monty Python’s Flying Circus complete set and Gordon Lightfoot CDs. The hourly deals are very limited, so if you find something, mark it so you remember to go back during the sale’s hours.
When you sign up for daily emails, you get quick pick selections based on past viewing and purchases. Which should be enough to scare you…
Amazon Deal of the Day
Amazon has lots of these great deals every day throughout the day. Some are great, some plbbbbb. The current daily deal is for a Canon PIXMA 560 wireless inkjet printer for $68.99. It’s not a bad price at all, if you need a new printer. Yes, there are some selling for slightly less on eBay, but then you have to deal with $20 shipping, so I’d rather buy direct here.
Jennifer Crusie new book
I used to be a big Jennifer Crusie fan (still reread Bet Me periodically), but it’s been a few years since she published a new book, since to me, reissuing the old books with new covers is a cheat. Her new book, Maybe This Time, will not be released until August 31, but Amazon has a pretty funny “interview” with her. So maybe I’ll get sucked into her books once again?
Amazon (think holidays)
OK, don’t really know why I posted these little suckers. Saw them yesterday and thought they were really cute. Then today they pop up even cheaper! I’m seriously thinking of picking these up, since they would work so well as little holiday gifts to the hundred and fifty (or so) teachers/aides/bus drivers my child has. So as I sit here in my house with no water, I’ll just surf around looking for cool deals. Not like I can do laundry, wash floors, flush the damned toilets! With apologies to Thomas Paine “These are the times that try men’s souls” and you wish you had 15 toilets you could flush. The no water situation came up without notice; emergency replacement of broken pipes down the street.
Amazon Diaper Deals
I am certainly not in the market for diapers, but clearly remember scrounging around for the best deals, because, let’s face it, it’s not something you can do without. So I’d recommend heading over to Mashupmom.com and checking out the fantastic deals she listed on August 11. Apparently Amazon is really getting into the diaper business!
Amazon magazine deals
I’m pretty much an avid reader rather than a TV/movie viewer, so when I see deals on magazines I stop and look. Last Fall Amazon had some amazingly cheap deals on tons of magazines: Real Simple, Popular Science and Seventeen, among others. And yes, I did succumb….having admitted this, I can now say that only a couple will be renewed, among them Popular Science and Seventeen (for my daughter). I had no idea that Popular Science was such a fascinating glimpse into the technology of the future. I’m thrilled I was able to get a great rate locked in for two years. Amazon is once again offering deals on a large group of magazines: 2 years for the price of one. If you’ve been thinking about starting a new or renewing a favorite magazine subscription, check out the rates here: amazon.
