Amazon video baby monitor

Lorex LIVE snap Video Baby Monitor is the Gold Box Deal for only $99; retail on this sucker is almost $400!  I’ll admit to being just a tad jealous: when my kids were babies they only had audio monitors available – this is waaay cooler.  I think of the times I’d “hear” something, only to realize later than the babies were just making sounds in their sleep, not awake at all.  Naturally, the noise of you running up the stairs to check wakes them up… Like I said –  way cooler.

And when baby gets older?  mom and dad video time… woot!

National healthcare

Apparently Amazon was selling a DIY gastric bypass by Medline, Inc. for $246 but I missed it.  Not certain whether it was a Gold Box deal or not, but I obviously dropped the ball, folks, and I apologize.  Read the article here.

Well, obviously it was a mistake – everyone knows this stuff belongs on eBay!

$75 for Chicago Cutlery

I’m sure you’re all wondering who would be crazy enough to give me knives – – well, I kinda wonder about that, too.  But Chicago Cutlery has some really nice knives for cooking (sheesh!) at 58% off as the Gold Box deal.  Add this to your cart and the price drops even further. I personally don’t use knife blocks and keep my knives on a magnetic strip for easy access.  But hey! you can always use the block as firewood…

Hurry, as this deal is scheduled to expire in about 10 minutes.  crap.   i miss all the good stuff

Amazon Outlet

Well slap my ass and call me Sally.  Started wandering around Amazon and what do I see – an entire outlet division!!  Every department is part of it, so I started looking at way cool toys like this helicopter. Come surfin’ with me: keep an open mind and closed wallet. I’ve done most of my holiday shopping online, either with free delivery to my home or store. this is easy-peasy…

Ooh, Ooh, a guy present on Amazon

I say this is for guys ’cause I could never understand the appeal of this show, especially that whiny-bitch Elaine, but for those of you who still watch those 12 year old reruns every friggin’ day (guess who in my house…), this Amazon Deal of the day is a STEAL DEAL.  All 9 seasons of Seinfield plus 104 hours of extras for $84.49.  This is something I just might get for the DH…to go with the underwear and socks, of course (shhhhh!  don’t tell him!)

Amazon for cheap Crocs

Amazon is running a 50% off sale on select styles of Crocs.  Yes, these shoes/boots are butt-ugly but majorly comfortable – PITA has at least 10 pairs, plus the pink Georgie boots we all have in common (our big kids ones are blue).  If you haven’t yet jumped on the Crocs bandwagon, here’s a good time to hitch a ride ’cause there’s never a reason to pay full price for them!

The Tightwad Gazette

Way back in the dark ages (1990’s), there was a woman who published a series of newsletters, which then were compiled into a total of three volumes called The Tightwad Gazette I, II, and III.  Eventually the three were combined into one large volume.  I picked these up for retail! at the old Kroch’s & Brentano’s bookstores (remember them?  I used to spend much of my paycheck there).

I took one off the shelf last night because I needed to make some yogurt (no freebies lately) and that got me wondering what had become of the author, Amy Dacyczyn.  Here’s an interview clip I found on Savvy Housekeeping.  Enjoy.  I absolutely luv that house!  If you happen to come across this book at a garage sale or can get it from your library, do so.  This is, quite honestly, a book to purchase and keep as a reference guide.  If you do want to purchase through Amazon, the complete compilation is pretty cheap (considering it was published 15 years ago!).

Amazon Gold Box Deals

Amazon Daily Deals I read lots of other sites (not only couponing, people!) and the people with young children seem to rave about the Melissa & Doug line of wooden toys.   Amazon has most of  this line at 50% off, so if you likee, you buyee quicklee.  And I do mean quickly, because the numbers sold were jumping incredibly fast as I watched!  If you’d rather just shop around for some of the limited “lightning deals,” then feel free to click on the box on the right sidebar.  If you’re like me, though, you’ll get sucked into that great big cyber black hole of Amazon stuff we didn’t know we needed and look how cheap!

Why does BF shopping make me crazy(er)?

Couldn’t figure out why today was such a bore.  Couldn’t see what all the hoopla was about.  Putting “Door Buster” and 60% off or more signs on everything doesn’t make it a deal.  My husband was talking on the way to the gym (and no, I was not going to work out, silly!  I just plop my fat ass in the steam room and cook the low-pressure way), about all the people on the news raving about what great deals they were getting.  He said that it’s the same thing I do day after day, and if people really wanted to save money they’d shop more like me.

That’s when it hit me that he was right (that in itself was a shocker, I’ll admit).  So that’s why the whole BF media blitz doesn’t work for me.  I prefer to shop during normal hours, in well-stocked stores, with clerks and cashiers readily available to answer questions and ring up sales in a timely fashion…none of which was happening today, bucky.

So tomorrow?  Hit another PetSmart or two, maybe a Hallmark store, possibly check out Target, but from now on, my deals are going to be made from the comfort of my own home (probably Amazon).  ’cause unless you’re running Black Friday shopping as a competitive sport, it ain’t worth it.

The Andy Griffith Show

Now that was a great show!  I’m aheading out the door to check out a few deals and use up some coupons, so a shameless bit of promotion for Amazon…

I got this text about their deal of the day, the entire series of The Andy Griffith Show for $93.99.  Not quite a steal, but just imagine sitting like a lump on the couch for almost a week.  Oh, the youngins don’t know what they’re missing…

Oh, and did you think this post was about same-sex marriage ’cause of the picture?
