Round and about shopping

My first stop was actually CVS for the Air Wick – figured by now they’d restock, right?  Yeah, two CVS stores, same thing – or lack of same thing, your choice.  And this is why I find their latest corporate statement ironic.  I paraphrase here, but CVS will not allow customers to clear the shelves of product.  Ah, yeah, two people fighting over the one can of whoopass left on the shelf.  It’s a non-issue for CVS, folks – they have no stock to clear!  Which is why my heart belongs to Walgreens.

where I picked up five of the Scrubbing Bubble One-Step toilet bowl cleaners.  A couple of the local stores are participating in the National Library Card promotion, so 15% comes off the top of any price.  In this case, the $8.99 price was reduced to $7.64.  Subtract the $4 coupon from 9/11 S and you’re at $3.64.  Out pops the $2 RR and you’ve paid $1.64 plus high tax.  I wanted to roll this with the Crest Complete, but this Wags said they hadn’t received any in three weeks.  I’m telling you, these Wags warehouses are getting kickbacks from CVS: It’s the only possible explanation…

Then drove to the 75th Ultra. If I have to hit up an Ultra, this is the one I like – the Lombard one is filled with too many freaky-deakies.  I took 20 containers of LOL cinnamon spread…it was all they had.  The case of 12 has already been placed in the freezer.  Now, I’m not crazy about this .94 price for 6.5 ounces, frankly, but when you’re lazy and just want some toast or a light topping on pancakes…

New coupons added

Checking through Coupons.com, many of the earlier ones have dropped off the face of the earth.  Best ones I see are the $4 Scrubbing Bubbles for the One Step toilet cleaner deal at Walgreens (8.99 less $4 less $2 RR = $2.99.  This coupon was also in Sunday’s inserts, but it never hurts to have more, right?  Remember, on this type of product, you will never get a cheaper price on the refills (unless it’s a clearance item), so we just keep buying new.

I’d print out the BOGO on the Stim-U-dents, since it would be sweet with a BOGO sale, wouldn’t it?  Great.  Now I’ve gone from posting about actual deals to posting about pipe dreams…

Wags – Huggies Little Movers $3.99

I read elsewhere about coupon stacking with the $2 RR deal that just started today at Walgreens:  $8.99 less the $3 mfr coupon (9/11 S) and $2 Wags coupon (7/24 S).  Heck, I even planned on using the $2 code from the Infant Care Book for a home run out the ballpark…it was not to be.  The 7/24 coupon only works on the boxed sizes of diapers.  I don’t even think they had the Little Movers – Slip ons back when the coupon came out.  So, while you could probably get the cashier to force one or even two packages, forcing 20 to get a stock-up price won’t cut it.

So without being able to use the Wags coupon and the Infant Care book code, you are looking at a good (maybe even a very good) price for these:  $8.99 less the $3 mfr coupon from 9/11 S and a $2 RR, for a final price of $3.99.   If you have Colgate RRs or other ones you want to roll, the deal might look sweeter.  Your call…

Walgreens FREE photo gifts

Walgreens has a promo code for $5 off any photo gift of $5 or more.  What does this mean?  FREE STUFF!  Use promo code 5OFFANY on magnets, mouse pads, etc.  Best of all, you get 9% cash back with ShopAtHome on photo items – 7% on everything else.

Scroll down the page of coupons; it’s just after the deal on 4×6 prints.

Wags – rolling, rolling, rolling

Rolling more of the Estroven RRs into the blood glucose meters.  The .18 tax was paid by that lovely gift card from the other day…

bye-bye, Osteo, it’s been real….what?

This is my final trip to Wags for the Osteo.  12 bottles, 1 Hartz training pads (aka pee pads), 14 boxes of Kleenex and Playtex rubber gloves.  Total was just under $5 — all tax!

For those of you who asked, no, Wags has not done anything with the system, so this is definitely a ymmv situation.  In point of fact, we rang this up twice – the first time only 8 IVC coupons came off.  Second time all twelve did.  My feeling is that the system is experiencing a nervous breakdown.  At least all the employees are great about it.

Wags suggestions for burning RRs – update

With many apologies:  Once again I relied on someone’s figures about this great deal without actually hitting the store – each time it messes up.  Jackie points out that no Wags in the known universe sells diapers for this price originally.  However, the bottom line price of about $4.50 for the jumbo pack would be what I’d call decent enough for an RR burning.

If you’re trying to burn some Estroven RRs and you want/need diapers (even as an emergency stash) and can’t find/don’t want to roll the RRs into the blood glucose meters and agree that Jewel sucks donkey balls this week, have I got a deal for you.  The B1G 50% Wags brand deal that is running through 9/24 includes diapers.

Here’s the math:  Buy two of the jumbo packs at $6.99 each.  $3.50 will automatically come off ($10.49/2).  Use code 2844 from the Infant Care Booklet to take another $2 off each package ($6.49/2) and you’re at about $3.25 package.

If you live near the two Lisle Wags and have a Lisle Public Library card, you can get an additional 20% discount by flashing that card.  This discount comes off at the beginning, so your numbers would end at about $2.20 each jumbo pack.

Wags rolling our cats

Lo and behold – a Wags across the parking lot from Food4Less!  And five of the blood glucose meters on sale with the $10 RR.  Took all five, handed over a $10 Estroven RR and .18 for tax.  For less than a buck I’ve extended my shopping window – now let’s hope they have some good deals within the next two weeks.

If you’re wondering why I didn’t buy them in Lisle with the 15% Library promotion, the fact is that 1) they don’t have any (my bad) and 2) it’s a lot easier to just roll the damned things (and it’s not like I don’t have more).

Wags and Vicks candy

Okay, so they’re not “candy” per se, but they’re not too far removed from it either.  Vick cough drops are sold at Walgreens, although you’d be hard-pressed to find them there.  Check by the Hall’s/Riccola drops and cough syrup, then look up in the overstock section or the checkout lanes.  Yeah, been there, done that.  If you do find some, you’ve scored as many free as you have coupons.  Moi?  Well, I could take a couple of cases, but don’t need any – hell, I’ve still got some from last year!  How do you get them?  The September P&G insert has a buck coupon for any Vicks product.  Get that?  ANY!  Which means that the Vicks cough drops, which are priced at .99 each, are FREE!

Wags

I hadn’t posted this Wags Osteo Bi-Flex deal because the BOGO was not working and the holiday prevented anyone from fixing the problem.  What you start with is a $21.99 (or so) price for both bottles, less two $4 $7 mfr coupons from 8/21 R, less the $5/1 September IVC.  At this point you are looking at a couple of bucks overage.  Since I am using my library card to get that extra 15% discount, I started with only $18.68, so I was expecting $5+ in overage.  The register wasn’t cooperating, so the cashier had to manually enter a penny for the second bottle; this prevented the IVC from coming off that bottle (actually it took off .01).

You are looking at 20 bottles of Osteo-Bi-Flex, ten of which are holding out on me, so I’ll head on over tomorrow to get my credit of about $50.  Just so you know, I actually did quite well, since I am stocked up for 18 months on the Aveeno shave gel for husband (who ran out Saturday and made a WM pit stop!) and lots of pee pads for micro Moosies.

And why stock up when you know there’s a glitch?  Because waiting means there won’t be stock…that much of a fool i am not…
