Wags – Butera – CVS

and a pleasant experience was had by all!!!

Wags was the last day for the 15% library card discount, so took the twelve Colgate Optic White boxes left and about 70 packs of Mentos…oh, and one lousy Quattro cartridge ’cause the coupon was in the Trib and I got a buncha rock inserts (insert ugly mean face here).  Worked out okay, since I would pay $5 and get back a $6 RR …and lots and lots of toothpaste.

Butera had Granny Smith apples for .99, so we packed up a bag to go with the cheese chunks.  They have a pretty decent selection of cheese flavors:  mozzarella; sharp cheddar; medium cheddar; monterrey jack; co-jack; colby jack; pepper jack (boy, that jack sure gets around); muenster…i forget the rest.  Remember, you get 4 for $5 or $2.50 A POUND!  Of course, you could pick up five of the Kraft punys at Jewel for $5 and have less than one pound…your choice.  Personally, I feel it’s a bad use of your free gift card.  and I did not take a picture of boring stacks of cheese.

Hope we don't get any trick or treaters this year!

Then CVS…You all know about my love/hate relationship with CVS.  The relatively new store at Ogden and Naper Blvd is clean and the people who work here are über-friendly, and I really, really want to give them business. They just never have stock!  And while I could love them to death as people, lack of stock is the deal-killer for me.  So you can imagine my surprise when I hit them up on my last shopping leg of the day that not only did the cashier remember me from the non-supply of Air Wick deal a few weeks ago, she had stock for me AND boxes upon boxes of the Hershey chocolate bars.  Sweet(pun intended)  You are looking at about 150 chocolate bars..hehehehehe.  Obviously I couldn’t eliminate all costs (high taxes, thank you rat bastard Q), but I ended up about $18 OOP.  Oh, I forgot…that included a gallon of Dean’s milk.

Wags online razors for a buck – NO, NO, NO!

Okay, I only ran this up to the actual entering payment info and at that point it was still working fine.  Some of you have not only tried this, but CALLED Wags to bitch (yeah, go Team Deranged!).  There is a three razor limit.  Deepest apologies on this one, folks.  I just got back in from getting my car at the shop and had decided to go for it, too.  crap!  well, off to buy me 3 pounds of cheese…

The Remington King of Shaves Azor razors that are FREE after Register Rewards can also be purchased for even less cash up front:  Go to Walgreens.com and order 25 of these razors:  Your subtotal will be $249.75 ($9.99 x 25).  Enter promo code KING and the price for each will drop to a buck.  Pay $25 and tax and get FREE shipping.  Not as free as buying it at the B&M Wags, but here you’re not putting out the $4 to get back the $4 in Register Rewards.  Actually, this is a very sweet deal and way less aggravation – for that we need our kids.

Don’t worry that the promo code won’t work:  It shows right there on the item “Save $8.99 with promo KING.”

Saw this earlier on Wild for Wags, but stupidly ignored it.  And just so you know, you can’t get this deal through the web pickup site – it only shows the weekly ad with RR deal for $4.99.  christ on a cracker…

Wags – MM Colgate Optic White

Walgreens has a monthly deal (through 10/22) on the new Colgate Optic White toothpaste:  Buy one for $3.99 and get $2 RR or buy two ($7.98) and get back $6 RR – no brainer here, right?

The Chicago area 9/25 S had a $1.50 coupon (some areas got $1), which means a slight MM.  Honestly?  I’d start stocking up because the last few deals have not been exactly stellar.  Looks like we’re in for a few weeks of small MMs, so grab a filler and roll those cats from the ZarBee’s or Quattro deal.

Free Wheat Thins?

Facebook has a coupon for $1 off any size flavored Wheat Thins (not original).  Next week the 4 oz Nabisco cookies and crackers will be .99 at Wags, so free crackers if your store carries the flavored ones….

CVS and Wags – home again, home again…

Okay, on the CVS Hershey bar deal:  I bought 13 and paid with 7 of the coupons.  Looking

15 is the magic number

at my receipt, I see I could have added another one and then gotten one more free.  crap… paid $3.16 (.78 was tax) and got back $3 ecb for having purchased Hershey products.  Next set I’ll do it right (I hate their cash registers with the up and down and up and down amounts).

On the Wags picture, you are seeing just a few of the packs of gum I will be buying…yes, i do have a ton of coupons.  One thing I noticed in the ZarBees, though – I opened up a box to see what they were like and there is a $1 coupon good on any ZarBee product with an expiration date of January 3, 2013.  Keep rolling that coupon and making yourself a little extra cash (my 15% library discount earns quite a bit of cash). But since the world will be ending the end of December, that won’t matter…

Quick post ’cause we’re off to the 3 pm matinee.  Longer post upon return.  CVS has the Hershey bars B2G1 – use the 8/28 S BOGO coupon.  I bought a ton and made money (after ecbs).

Wags – the Mentos IVC is NOT scanning, so make sure your cashier manually enters .49 for each one.  The Schick Quattro men’s razor coupons (IPs) scan beautifully for the cartridges (the women’s cartridges are part of the sale, but the men’s don’t appear).  Everything worked well and all required RRs printed.

Wags 9/25-10/1

Thought I’d run a recap of some of the deals happening next week at Walgreens – I’ve had them listed in individual posts for the past few weeks.

The Schick Quattro razor and 4 pack cartridges will be $8.99 with a $5 RR.  There was a $5 IP to make this a slight MM (believe it reached its print limit) and the $4 from 9/25 S for FREE.  Razors are always stock-up items.

Mentos Up2U gum will be .99 with in-ad coupon.  Stack that coupon with the $1/2 from either the 9/11 S or 8/14 S plus the $1/2 in the October IVC booklet.  FREE gum.   Note:  Other areas got a $1/1 coupon on 9/11, so possible overage?

Zarbee’s nighttime cough & sleep drink is $5.99 with a $6 RR.  Use the $1 IP I forced you to print a couple of weeks ago, ’cause I think it’s reached its print limit.

Balance bar is $1.59 with a $1.59RR.  Use the .55 from 9/11 S.

Other things come up free with combinations of RRs and coupons, but the high tax will eat you up.

If you need coupons for any of these deals, order them now so you are good to go.  Remember, most of the hot deals lately at Walgreens have been unadvertised – they just appeared, made us money, and dropped back under the radar.  And this is just my feeling but I think that’s how most of the deals will be working for the next couple of years at both drugstore and grocery chains…get in, hit ’em hard and heavy and clear out…

ShopAtHome Wild Deal – FREE Glade air freshener

Well, this is what I call a cheat:  The Glade spray air freshener is .99 on the Wags website and you get .99 back in your ShopAtHome account…however…your shipping is only free if you spend $25+.  hmph I say…  However, they do have a 4.5% cash back, so see what you might need.

Update:  I saw on Hip2Save that Wags has 16 oz. bags of Blue Diamond almonds on sale for $4.99 (regularly $7.99) with four varieties to choose from.  Pick up five pouches and the Glade air spray to get you over the $25 free shipping threshold.  Going through the Walgreens link on ShopAtHome will earn you 4.5% cash back for the total order plus that .99 for the Glade.

The Wild Deal coupon code is for 10% back on all Kmart purchases.  It shows coupon code KM2011 for $5 off a $50 purchase.  I’m not certain if one replaces the other…

Wags Schick Quattro MM

Starting Sunday the 25th, Wags will have the Schick Quattro razors on sale for $8.99 with a $5 RR.  Use this $5/1 coupon for men and this $5/1 one for women.  Since you can print each two times, it’s a $4+ MM per computer.  There will be a $4 coupon in the 9/25 S or use a couple of $2 ones from 9/11.  unfortunately, it’s high tax…

coupons and stuff

I’m redoing the ZarBee’s post to include other Coupons.com coupons.  The Zarbee’s $1 will be used on the Wag’s RRs promo starting the 25th (it’s a $1 MM).  Look through all the categories because there is a $1 Robutussin coupon available (it does not appear under the personal care section).  These are the types of products that we need, so best to get them for free or as a slight MM.

BOGO Pepsi coupon and BOGO Doritos Tapatio chips in celebration of the 2011 NCLR ALMA Awards.  This is an award I know nothing about and have no interest in, other than the fact that it is giving us some nice coupons.  Print ’em while you can.

Wags MM coupon print-print-print

I have been searching for a coupon to stack with next week’s Wags sale on ZarBee’s Cough Syrup.  Here is a $1/1 coupon from Coupons.com.  Print two and find another computer fast!  This is one of those cough syrups that a kid either loves or hates:  PITA loves it!  So naturally I need to print out as many as I can.  This is an all-natural cough syrup which I highly recommend.  Try it and see.  The worst thing that will happen is you’ll make almost a buck a bottle.  life could be worse!
