Target – oh, please stop paying me…

Photo.jpg Run in and run out – I don’t need to operate on Target time any more.  My new modus operandi is to not only have my coupons in hand at the register (as always) but now have coupons scanned immediately after the products to which they attach.  Problem?  Take off the items ’cause I don’t need the customer service nonsense when I’m in a hurry…which is pretty much always.  You see here:  4 bottles Dial body wash, 4 Similasan eye drops and 12 cans of Iams cat food.  Paid $8.79 after REDcard and got back two $5 gift cards, which I can combine at a later date.  I used the $5 Similasan coupons from 3/2 S, the four Dial soaps ($2.99 each) were 20% off on Cartwheel plus there was a $2/2 Target coupon and a $1 in the 3/26 rp and the $2.00 off THREE Wet IAMS Cat Food for overage.  There is also a $1 rebate on the Dial on Ibotta, so make that $7.79 in total.  And that fancy cat food will make some senior very happy…oh, knock it off – i’m kidding…they get store brand

What’s Ibotta?  It’s an APP for smart phones that pays you $ for buying stuff you’re buying anyway….double-dipping!  Basically, you buy certain products from participating retailers, scan the product UPC and your receipt and get cash back in your Ibotta account  At $5.00, you can cash out with PayPal.  It’s possible to get cash back on items for which you only paid tax!

and a new MM on Similasan eye drops @ Target!

Photo.jpg

Right now you can score a $5 Target gift card when you buy two Similasan eye products (they make allergy, computer, dry eyes, irritated eyes … all work).  I was up north in Schaumburg, which had them for $6.49, which meant the subtotal was $12.98 (tax was also slightly higher).  Use the $5 insert coupon from 3/2 S and you’ll pay $2.98 and get back a $5 Target gift card.  Remember, you are limited to four like coupons per transaction and an unfriendly Target will make you stop at that. If you use your REDcard, you will also get a 5% discount, which makes it even sweeter.

If you know in advance that your Target sucks donkey balls or only have a couple of inserts, combine the $3 any Similsan product coupon that’s just under the $5 eye product coupon – you’ll pay $4.98 and get back $5.

Note:  You can bring all these gift cards to customer service and have them combined into one card.

Note 2nd:  If you combine the $2.00 off THREE Wet IAMS Cat Food printables, which gives you about 20¢ overage per coupon, you’ll reduce your OOP even more!

Note 3rd:  Dates on these products were end of 2016.

New Cartwheel: 50% off ALL Scrabble games – today only

Furby Furblings half off at Target

UntitledI’m showing all these Furby Furbling Creatures on Target because you can order online (easy-peasy!) and they’re $9.99 – at least 50% less than on Amazon!  These are the newest Furbies:  babies that bond with the larger Furbies.  I personally would prefer Furbycide, but kids love ’em…sigh  Use your REDcard to take off 5% more with FREE SHIPPING.

Sunday shopping – all food groups included

Photo.jpgPhoto.jpg

First stop was CVS where I’d heard the little $1.19 tubes of Eucerin were working on the “Buy 2 get $5 ecb” promotion.  Both the $1.19 body tube and the $2.99 face lotion produced the $5 ecb.  If you’re at all interested in this deal, I wouldn’t put it off.

Photo.jpg Next stop was Staples.  Then I remembered that they don’t open until noon on Sunday and it wasn’t worth sitting in their parking lot for 15 minutes…so on to Target, where the Target ad (and signs all over the shelves) says Buy $40 in pet foods, etc. (but not treats) and get $10 off. So the best deals (price plus coupon value) I could come up with were these $2.00 off one Purina ONE beyOnd dog food and $2.00 off one Purina ONE beyOnd cat food.  Since Target has the limit four identical coupons policy, I used four dog and two cat food coupons and stacked the six bags with the $10 Target coupon, then paid with my REDcard.  I think the dog food was $6.89 and the cat food slightly more.  Wanted to grab some free Vidal Sassoon shampoo using the Family Dollar ad, but Target only carried the jumbo sizes.  However, I was able to score a few of these $1 Target coupon for L’Oreal products that don’t expire until 12/31/14.
Photo.jpg
Photo.jpg

Then on to Walmart where I price matched the Vidal Sassoon shampoo/conditioner with the Family Dollar ad for $2, then used the $2 coupons from the March P&G.  Since P&G has that stupid Limit 4 per household per day wording, you’ll either have to stop at both WM and Family Dollar all week or work it out some other way, depending on how many hundreds of coupons you might have…

Next up was PetSmart, but only for PurinaPro ’cause those $8 printables were expiring in a couple of days and I was able to use a 10% off coupon with them.  Do I need more pet food?  Heck no, but the dates are into 2015 and they’re sealed in heavy plastic.  Still ended up spending about $50 for 8 bags.  Boo!

Back to Staples where I was told that not only was the Naperville store out of the 5-ream cases of Staples brand copy paper, two other local stores were, too! Hey, guys, I’m sorry I’ve been stocking up so hard and heavy (not really). Will stop back later in the week.
Photo.jpg

Staples is giving us a free ream of HammerMill® paper this week plus a 5-ream case of Staples copy paper.  Print either or both

The HammerMill coupon restricts you to one ream, while the Staples 5-ream case coupon allows the purchase of two – print out TWO coupons for the Staples paper.

Post edit with Q links: Targeting Jewel

Photo.jpg
Ooh, clever little title, huh? Those silly little bottles of Tide that sprang up all over at price points ranging from $1.49 (on sale) to $2.99 (at Target) have been reduced to 99¢ at Jewel.  Three will cost you $2.97 less the $2/3 coupon in the March P&G insert.  After high tax, you’ll be paying between 38 – 40¢ a five-load bottle.  The older stockpile bottles I have are 30 loads, but I believe they’ve since reduced the size (to save us money!!).

Here’s the two links that reader notsyrup mentioned in her comment below.  The printables have the same wording as the P&G ones:

$1.00 off ONE Tide Plus Collection Detergent

$1.00 off ONE Tide Ultra Stain Release Detergent

So even if the current bottles are still 30 loads, your six bottles will cost you about $2.25! Current sizes for the Ultras, etc. are 24 loads, or just under 5 bottles; your cost will be approximately $1.90.   And this size is not only perfect for perching on the laundry shelf, but a blessing for those with arthritis and/or poor muscle tone.  Stock up and remember, you can post-redeem your coupons at Jewel for up to 60 days.  btw, i have a few more than pictured…

Target currently has a mobile coupon for $15 off a $40 purchase of UP and UP products (I believe it will be available in most Sunday papers, too) for a one-time use: Text UPANDUP to 827438 and you’ll get the coupon.

I grabbed three boxes of the diaper wipes ’cause let’s face it, we all love diaper wipes! Use them for wiping down furniture, dashboards, wood floors…they leave a nice clean scent and you don’t have to worry about harmful chemicals.

I had one of the 2-ct Archer Farms K-cup printables left (no longer available), so grabbed a package and four of the Oscar Meyer P3 snack packs, selling for $1.50 each.  There is a $0.75 off OSCAR MAYER P3 PORTABLE PROTEIN PACK printable and a 50% off deal on Cartwheel, so FREE.

Total OOP after paper coupons, mobile coupons, Cartwheel and REDcard was $26.84 – less than the price of two boxes of wipes or a penny a wipe!  but now i have no excuse for dirty floors…

Target: B1G1 40% off toys (includes LEGO City)

This sale includes  popular Lego City sets selling for almost twice as much on Amazon! Only catch is the best ones are available for store pickup not shipping, but I checked on this and found it in stock at about 7 stores all around Naperville.  If you bought two of them, you’d end up paying about $19 each or 5% less with REDcard; other items you do your own math.  Enter a city and state in the search stores box, ’cause the zip code function seems to be wonky the past couple of days.

New Target beauty box is $5 shipped!

Target receipts are still another language

Photo.jpg

Stopped at a Walgreens, so picked up another 10 or so bars of Caress – gawd does my dining room reek!  even more so than usual…

Full Target purchase included 6 bottles of Ice Mountain, four 3-pk Archer Farm K-cups, four bottles of up & up hydrogen peroxide, eight Starkist pouches and four 1/2 gallons of  lavender-scented bleach.  Used two $1/3 Ice Mountain printables (no longer available), four $2 off any no-size restrictions k-cup, four 50¢ Target first aid coupons and $2/2 up & up cleaning products (I think that one’s gone, too).  I have NO idea how my bill got to be so high, but my OOP was about $5!!!  Well, yeah, it was ’cause of the bleach, but I’m a wild and crazy guy when it comes to scented bleach!  Peroxide was 52¢ at the Naperville location although I’ve heard it’s higher elsewhere – two of the k-cups were $1.99 and two were $1.49.

K-cups go to MUD and peroxide is for blood stains after the apocalypse…although by then it won’t really matter, will it?

Target, Walgreens and Walmart shopping (see, I can alphabetize!)

Photo.jpg

Target has the Ice Mountain still on sale for 50¢ per 1L bottle – coupon is out of print but I was diligent in my earlier printing!  Target has Starkist Tuna Creations on temporary price cut for 99¢ each – all varieties, from what I could see, including some with no seasonings at all, for you purists.  Use the $1/2 mfr coupon from 1/5 S with this $1/2 Target coupon and get ’em for free!  I’ll pick up more later in the week when I stop for more water.  Using my REDcard brought down my OOP to slightly over $2…for 12 bottles of water and 8 tuna pouches.

The $5 Hydroycut coupons work very well for free shakes at Walgreens but even better at Walmart where they are currently selling for $3.98!  I prefer taking product over cash so grabbed a couple of bags of tater tots…’cause who doesn’t need more of those!?  Only down side is that Walmart only carries the Chocolate Fudge flavor, not the vanilla one.

Photo.jpg

Don’t forget that the Mucinex allergy 5ct boxes on sale this week for $7.50 at Wags, have a $5 mfr coupon in today’s Smart Source together with a MIR.  If you’re going the MIR route, you’ll need multiple receipts.  Each box awards 3,000 points, so a great way to not only use up RRs from prior weeks but rebuild your points stockpile!  Remember that if you use points to buy a points item, you’re SOL.  In this case, I grabbed quite a few incredible clearance items for all those $1 and $2 RRs to attach to.  Always check out clearance end caps – they are our best friend!
