Sunday shopping – all food groups included

First stop was CVS where I’d heard the little $1.19 tubes of Eucerin were working on the “Buy 2 get $5 ecb” promotion.  Both the $1.19 body tube and the $2.99 face lotion produced the $5 ecb.  If you’re at all interested in this deal, I wouldn’t put it off.

Photo.jpg Next stop was Staples.  Then I remembered that they don’t open until noon on Sunday and it wasn’t worth sitting in their parking lot for 15 minutes…so on to Target, where the Target ad (and signs all over the shelves) says Buy $40 in pet foods, etc. (but not treats) and get $10 off. So the best deals (price plus coupon value) I could come up with were these $2.00 off one Purina ONE beyOnd dog food and $2.00 off one Purina ONE beyOnd cat food.  Since Target has the limit four identical coupons policy, I used four dog and two cat food coupons and stacked the six bags with the $10 Target coupon, then paid with my REDcard.  I think the dog food was $6.89 and the cat food slightly more.  Wanted to grab some free Vidal Sassoon shampoo using the Family Dollar ad, but Target only carried the jumbo sizes.  However, I was able to score a few of these $1 Target coupon for L’Oreal products that don’t expire until 12/31/14.

Then on to Walmart where I price matched the Vidal Sassoon shampoo/conditioner with the Family Dollar ad for $2, then used the $2 coupons from the March P&G.  Since P&G has that stupid Limit 4 per household per day wording, you’ll either have to stop at both WM and Family Dollar all week or work it out some other way, depending on how many hundreds of coupons you might have…

Next up was PetSmart, but only for PurinaPro ’cause those $8 printables were expiring in a couple of days and I was able to use a 10% off coupon with them.  Do I need more pet food?  Heck no, but the dates are into 2015 and they’re sealed in heavy plastic.  Still ended up spending about $50 for 8 bags.  Boo!

Back to Staples where I was told that not only was the Naperville store out of the 5-ream cases of Staples brand copy paper, two other local stores were, too! Hey, guys, I’m sorry I’ve been stocking up so hard and heavy (not really). Will stop back later in the week.

Staples is giving us a free ream of HammerMill® paper this week plus a 5-ream case of Staples copy paper.  Print either or both

The HammerMill coupon restricts you to one ream, while the Staples 5-ream case coupon allows the purchase of two – print out TWO coupons for the Staples paper.

    • The HammerMill is $7.99 less the $3.99 coupon so you get a $4 check back via snail mail. I seem to recall paying about $25 for the 5-ream case in the past after the coupon, but that rebate comes as a Visa card (if you buy two cases, you’ll get the full reward on one card, not two cards). If you are near an Office Max or Office Depot they should honor the coupons (which you can print out from the link). I’ve matched deals with them in the past.
