PSA – Staples Rewards

Check your junk email account:  I just got an email from Staples with a $5 Rewards coupon good through 10/29 (it’s tied to my name and rewards number, or I’d post it.).  Why they would want to encourage more freeloading is beyond me, though…

ShopAtHome – Staples

Staples

Staples has an email coupon good for 100 free black and white business cards, a value of $19.95, which may also be applied to a higher value business card.

Stopped in with a sample of my deranged.me card and asked what it would cost to print (black stock, white lettering) – – ready?  another $9.95 for 100 cards!  And this is why I push Vistaprint so hard, folks.  Anyone who thinks I’m gonna spend $30 for 100 business cards is seriously delusional.

but i do like the free stuff they give me

Cheap school supplies

I’ve had people ask about getting school supplies for free 🙂 or cheap :(.  Here’s how you start, by accumulating things as you go along, not all at one time.  That way is the road to Hell, frankly, because you know that Walmart, Target is going to have a bunch of great stuff and a couple of crap prices, but most people will say “Oh, I’m already here, so I’ll just pick up the widgets.”  Well, I wouldn’t say that, but still…

You know you can use competitor’s coupons at Office Depot, Office Max and Staples, right?  Well, I used the $4 coupon in the Office Max overleaf page of the weekly ad to get a dozen Sharpies for a buck at Office Depot.  Easy peasy, just give ’em the coupon and the buck plus tax.  Do this with all the school supplies you know you will be buying:  pencils, folders, pens, markers, binders, etc.  Pick up a few items every week, and by the time school starts you’ll have picked up all of it (and more to last you the rest of the school year) for slightly more than tax.

Staples – Bump

I’ve gotten some emails reminding me that you can use these Staples store coupons at Office Depot, which is even closer to me than Staples!  And just in case you see anything in the 3M section, here’s two pages of pdf coupons for all sorts of their products.  Me?  I think I have enough tape from the last two Wags deal.  How much?  I’ve been donating cartons for MUM’s Mr. 4’s errr, “art” sculptures.  oooh, lovely!  here, take another carton and continue your fine work…

I downloaded these coupons the other day, but wanted to make sure they worked before posting.  Expiration date is 7/9, which kinda sucks, but since they state one per customer, it’s not like you can keep returning.  double sucks (would that be sucky sucky?).  Let me know if you do run this more than one time per coupon.

Staples 75% off HP paper
Staples 75% off uni-ball
Staples 75% off file folders, etc.
Staples.com® 75% off envelopes

I picked up a nice coupon wallet for $4.39 and a nice set of Uniball pens on sale for $5.99 and used the 75% off coupons on each; the rest of their stuff is rather pricey, but you may find some clearance deals at your store.

Wags – Wheaton

Did a little bit of trading at Wags…only picked up 144 of the Seattle’s Best because they were sharing with the Lisle store and I didn’t see any reason to wipe them out.  Just like men, another delivery will be along in a couple of days.  Besides, I needed trunk space for all the 2L bottles of Mountain Dew and Diet Pepsi.  Again, on the pop I ran two bottles with the $1/2 coupons, not that it changes the amount paid, but I was using the Icy Hot RRs to pay originally, then switched to 4 bottles and a $2 RR, then, finally, switched to US currency:  stopped at 40 bottles total.  The goal was to reduce my OOP, not necessarily replace all my G. Washingtons with RRs.

Then I ran quickly to Staples where, since they were out of the Bounty 6-pks,  I picked up a box of #10 envelopes for two bucks after the $3 Staples coupon.  Well, I actually needed these and kept forgetting to buy them, so it’s all to the good.

6-pk Bounty for $1.99?

Just picked up my first 6-pack! They have a sign on the door that says you are limited to one coupon per day.  Apparently they changed the wording on the new coupons (the one I posted).  rats!  Staples has a $3 coupon off any purchase in store this week (coupon code 62898) and a sale on 6 packs of Bounty paper towels for $4.99.  So do the math!  Coupon says limit one per transaction per day and it expires 6/11, so run on over.  We’re talking about .33 per roll for Bounty!

Staples – Free Paper

What, you think I’d print and pay?  puhleez!  Saw this item on Hip2Save this morning, but the link was vague and dead, so I wasn’t really sure what it was supposed to be.  It’s a 100% discount on a ream of HP multipurpose paper on sale this entire week for $5.99.  There’s a glitch here, so I can’t insert the link, but go to the coupons.com link on the sidebar and click the office supplies category; the HP $1 coupon is the first coupon.  Print once, twice.   almost easy-peasy. With two $1 coupons, you pay $4.99 per ream and submit it for your Easy Rebate of $9.98 (all done online). There’s a limit of two rebates per card (it says “household” but we all know to ignore that wording).

Staples

I’m sure you’ve seen this already, but Staples has that buy the reams get the rebate deal they run every few months.  So even though I currently have lots of paper, I always take advantage of their generosity because you never know if/when they’ll take a paper vacation.  I buy the two limit, use my rebate check from the prior deal(s) and just roll it right along.  I pretty much only take the free after easy rebate stuff, since you just enter the info online.
