We will accept orders through 10/28/2011 or until sold out.

Thank you for being a Zaycon Foods Customer and have a great day.

Received an email about ZaconFoods moving into our area (Chicagoland) from Sandy yesterday afternoon, but had no real time to investigate – sorry! If you wish to purchase, you will need to sign up as a member (FREE).  Here’s the site with my referral link (I get a buck credit if you register and buy anything):  Zayconfoods

This is pretty much direct from the processors to you with resulting savings.   They do not take Register Rewards, a big failure on their part, as far as the Goddess can see.  Please check out their upcoming events here.  There is an event set in the Joliet/Bolingbrook area for November 8, so enough time to clear out some freezer space.

Here is a schedule of wheres and whens, but you might want to click the above link to be certain I haven’t screwed something up.

Server issues – PSA

I’ve been having tremendous server issues lately:  Some extremely hot deals for almost free laundry detergent with free shipping (I particularly remember this one) but was unable to post due to load issues.  In other words, I could go out for dinner and the site still wouldn’t have loaded.  You might have shared some of my frustrations when you tried to see the coupon and insert winners last week.

BUT, I have moved to a new server, which should speed things up considerably.  It took forever for them to actually transfer the info because they couldn’t get my former site to load!  Now I’ve gotten the OK to resume posting, so I‘m baaaacck!

PSA – The Goddess Rants

Goddess is beat – pooped – tired – cranky (well, that’s nothing new)…she spent the entire afternoon throwing out inserts.  Hundreds and hundreds of inserts.  While getting large amounts of inserts is really, really nice, if you don’t stay on top of these things you’ll find yourself on Extreme Couponing/Hoarders Edition.

So I tossed.  And tossed.  and tossed.  Expiration dates, for the most part, are getting shorter and shorter, so I tossed anything before 7/31.  Yes, there might be a great coupon for a hot deal at Ultra, but you know what?  I don’t care.  After a while you realize that there is no point in chasing every friggin’ deal.  While couponing has gotten much tougher over the past couple of years, you can still work the deals without keeping every coupon and insert for the past six month “on the off-chance you will use a coupon.”  Get over it.  Don’t be like those newbie doofuses who equate cheap with stock-up and spend too much time and money building up a stockpile.  It might take longer, but enjoy the day, the family and a day free from scurrying around.

End of rant.

PSA – Jill Cataldo’s site was hacked

Those of you who follow Jillcataldo.com, please be aware that her site was hacked last night, with this message appearing:  “hacked by the Bangladesh Hacker.”  She has now  posted that her blog is back and once again safe to visit.  Whew!  That must be scary…

Saving with the Cheapass PSA

By now you all know I squeak when I walk…Washington blinks at the light when I open my wallet…I squeeze a penny so hard Abe takes a shit…har, har, har, I’ve heard ’em all.  Well what do you do then when you love flavored coffee, but Amazon isn’t cooperating?  I was looking through the cabinets yesterday when I came across a can of mulling spices.  I do not know where it came from (well, it said Trader Joe, but you kwim) or how many light years past.  I do know that I had a handy-dandy grinder sitting there so I threw in a handful and let ‘er rip.  Mixed it in with the ground coffee in the can (shake well) and tested it (errr, maybe the wrong choice of words) on the family.  They liked it!

So there you go:  Check around the spice cabinet and see what you have forgotten about.  Whole allspice, some nutmeg, lots of cinnamon bark, little dab of whole cloves…make your own concoction and you’ll be amazed at how wonderful it smells and tastes.  This now concludes our Saving with the Cheapass PSA.

All the news that fits…

Okay, I just like this picture

Nothing profound or upsetting or likely to make you spit your beverage of choice all over the monitor and keyboard…just a cool (short) vid.  Caught this on a tweet from the Bloggess.

PSA – Parade Magazine

In case you haven’t yet gone through today’s coupon holders (aka the Sunday paper), Parade magazine has five P&G coupon on one page in the middle.   Don’t know if all Parades have these, but since they’re pretty low-value coupons, probably so.  At least we can just rip out the entire page and store it.

Wags PSA

Just got a call from Wheaton:  their shipment today will contain about 500 of the small Degree deodorants for those of you looking to at least use up the coupons you have.  Even without being a MM, it’s still free.  They will have at least 150 of the Pert Light shampoos in this delivery – unable to determine how many, if any, of the medium type.  I think this is because many Wags only tagged the medium and not the light, even though both were working, so the warehouse might have run out of medium.  At least we get something to roll those Revlon cats into, right?

The delivery trucks probably won’t arrive before mid-afternoon, and it will take quite a few hours to unload the totes – please call either late tonight or early tomorrow with your request.  that is all.  we now return to our regularly-scheduled posts.

PSA on Restaurant.com

Restaurant.com Weekly Promo Offer 468 x 60

You all know how much I love this program, but every once in a while I hear a complaint or someone has encountered a problem.  A reader visited two restaurants almost in a row and at each one they declined the voucher, stating that they had left the program in July.  In this case, the reader had printed out the vouchers when she purchased them (months earlier) and then never checked her account.  Had she done so, she would have found that the certificates had automatically been placed back into her account in blank form.  So heads up:  Do not print out vouchers if you are not going to be using them in a timely fashion.  Restaurants come and go, both in business and in the Restaurant.com program.  Sometimes a restaurant will take a short break to determine how effective the vouchers have been, and will return.  Hard to tell, but please make a point of checking your account periodically.
