While the Bounty catalina promotion is still running, the price has jumped up 50¢ to $3.79. If this price still works for you, go for it! Revlon Colorsilk is being clearanced out – maybe five or six shades – at $1.59 (not the price shown – use the price checker), so 59¢ after the $1 coupon in 1/27 S (Chicago cover has eggs on it). These are on the regular shelf, not an end-cap and I believe it’s chain-wide. There is another Colorsilk (Lumina or something) that’s also going bye-bye, but it’s a crazy-high $2.24 (clearance label reads $3+)! meijer must think we’re rich…

Almost-free Bounty @ Meijer

This deal comes courtesy of reader Ashley – a big thank you! And no, the Meijer truck was not following me home…

First transaction is for one two-pack of the Bounty DuraTowel on sale at Meijer for $3.29. Use the 25¢ P&G coupon from February’s insert and pay the total plus high tax. Out pops a $3 store catalina, courtesy of Meijer and P&G. Since you can’t roll that cat into another P&G deal, you buy three single Meijer basics paper towels. The Meijer I shopped at had them for $1.29. Pay with the first transaction’s $3 cat plus 94¢. Out pops a $3 Meijer store cat for their paper promotion…which you then roll into another Bounty DuraTowel two-pack that’s $3.29. Using the $3 store cat and the 25¢ coupon brings you down to 6¢ – -then out pops another cat.

This is a great way to reduce the horrible high taxes we’d otherwise be paying, since store catalinas reduce the taxable amount. To recap: Each complete set of two transactions costs $1 and earns you one Bounty two-pack and three Meijer basic rolls.

.25 for Dannon Activia 4-pks at Meijer

Reader from a Meijer Sunday-Saturday store has been stocking up on the Dannon Activia for her yogurt whores (her words). Why? It’s $1.88 a 4-pk (starting today in Chicago stores) – when you hit $15 you get a $5 OYNO. Buy eight packs ($15.04), use eight of the $1 mfr coupons from the 1/13 S and you’re at $7.04. Pay and then out pops a $5 store cat. Note that this cat does not roll, so don’t bother trying it!

You can use that $5 cat to stock up on the Meijer brand veggie steamers for 99¢ … or you can buy donuts (just sayin’).

February coupons to print

So many, many new coupons appeared yesterday that it would be impossible to post them all. I’m putting out a few now and will try to keep up. The main one I wanted to post is for Capri Sun, which is selling at Food4Less for $1.68 after the 50¢ instant savings of $5 when you buy ten items from the group. Limit is 50 items in one transaction. Use the B3G1 coupon from 1/6 S (cover says Healthy Essentials – snort).

There is a national catalina promotion going on which gives you $2 when you buy three boxes of Capri Sun, $3 when you buy four boxes and $4 when you buy five or more. Obviously buying fifty boxes to produce the same $4 as five would be stupid, so I’d recommend buying six and tossing in a few other items (Hormel chili would be 78¢ a can).

You could buy six boxes of Capri Sun and four cans of Hormel chili (this is actually pretty good stuff – we use it for chili dogs & chili mac), then use one insert coupon and two IPs each for the chili and Capri Sun. Pay 50¢ a can for the chili and 40¢ a box for the Capri Sun – but this is Barbie math.

Capri Sun is also on sale for $1.99 at Dominicks and will be 2/$4 at Meijer starting Sunday (in Sunday-Saturday stores, probably starting Thursday in the Thursday-Wednesday stores). Catalina promotions apply there, too.

I prefer Food4Less for large quantity stock-ups because they usually have the largest selection and quantity.

No go – Free South Beach bars at Meijer & possible MM at Walmart

Apparently this coupon is not intended for use on the bars on price drop at Meijer, as just reported on The Shoppers Apprentice. The boxes all looked the same to me, but maybe the coupons are for the $5.98 boxes. Again, sorry for the confusion. Return to your NV granola bars.

This coupon has a very short expiration date: January 28th

Print this high-value $3 coupon for South Beach bars and take it to Meijer, where it’s currently on a $1.99 price drop through the 27th (usual price is $2.99). You won’t get overage – they’ll adjust down the coupon. I was able to use a screen shot from The Shopper’s Apprentice showing the price drop and my Walmart matched it. Walked out with four boxes and $3.90 in cash. This is sooooo strictly a ymmv situation that I hesitated even posting this. Print out two coupons per computer.

While I was at Walmart, I walked by the watch counter and realized that my watch battery had died. Figured Walmart would have cheaper prices than my local jewel – WRONG! Walmart wanted $12 – their minimum – to replace the batters. My jeweler charges $7 and does a quick clean to remove all the disgusting gunk from between the links.

Goddess here. The produce and meat prices are the best deals I see but they are extraordinary, especially using the $3 off $7 meat purchase Meijer coupon. If you use Smart Balance spread, you can get it free, since it’s on price drop to $1.50 through 8/19 and there’s a $1.75 coupon on Facebook. Maybe I should road trip…

Meijer 15% extra today & tomorrow

Reader emails me that the Meijer extra 15% off on general merchandise TODAY and TOMORROW only can be used to great advantage with the 10% immediate discount you get for applying for a Meijer credit card. He just bought an iPad and iPod and ended up with a total discount of 23.5%! So don’t just think in terms of groceries, folks, but plan for those special occasions coming up in the next couple of months.
