Jewel was running the liquor cart clearance today, so since we were already there for Talenti, got me a bottle of port & Pita got … something. Lots of 75% off bourbon and fancy gin. I got 4624 points with a FAR from Fetch Rewards (had a $2/2 Jewel digital coupon) and $4 from Ibotta). Walgreens had these Dove bars on clearance for 33¢ and Whozeewhatzit bars for 15¢ – took all after tasting one of each. Another location down the street had no signage, but the deal wasn’t as sweet (sorry) – 99¢ for the Dove and 85¢ for the other. Blue Diamond are BOGO for cans or $6.99 for these 19.2 oz bags and since we’re still hosting Squirmy Wormy throughout the day, he’s gonna have to start earning his keep.
Fetch Rewards, the APP that doesn’t care where you shop – even online! Scan the receipt and if there’s an item that’s part of a rebate, you get it automatically – otherwise you still get a minimum of 25 points. Don’t have it, sign up with code WVAB6 (asks at the end, so make sure it’s entered before your first receipt scan ’cause you can’t go back) and you’ll earn 3,000 bonus points. Buy gift cards for Amazon, Panera, Target, Visa and more with as little as 3,000 points. That’s how I do my holiday gift card shopping.

Jewel pricing has gotten even goofier over Covid Times: witness this package of Quilted Northern on sale for $7.99 – – regular Amazon Fresh shelf price is $7.19. So even without those wonderful $10 off coupons, you’ll save. Our cashier was a former Jewel employee (for years) who said Amazon Fresh is better for most items. I know dairy and eggs are cheaper and their baguettes are a steal at only 89¢ each, while you already know my love of their prepared sandwiches; even at $6.99 they’re a great deal.
Tongue in cheek here, but when Pita and I stopped at Jewel for the AHA Saturday Sampler and a couple of watermelons, we found the Glen Ellyn store had no melons for me. Luckily the Dollar Tree in the mall was completely stocked with Thomas English muffins and bagels and sausage rolls. I take the cardboard out of the muffins bag and can fit 1½ packs in the one bag which then rests quietly in the freezer. I also picked up another 5 pk of ramen for a buck (they still maintain shelves of buck items).

Actually, the Jewel deal this week is even better than last week since you don’t have to buy in multiples of four to get the price – yeah, it’s a penny more per box, but still sweet. Why did I take 14 boxes you might ask? That’s all they had – duh. Since there’s still the $1/2 unlimited digital coupon and those beautiful $1/2 tear pad coupons, each transaction will give you overage in varying amounts depending quantity purchased. I used mine for clearance gum. My name is Chris and I’m a gumcoholic…
