Jewel – Lisle

Picked up four Nature Valley granola bars.  Only one of the thin varieties was around, so picked up the regular ones – the coupon works on both types.  Four boxes are $10, less the four .75 coupons.  The double dip cats give you a $2 and a $5 cat.  You end up OOP about .20 in tax and pick up a cat for a gallon of milk.

And yes, the background shows bundles of inserts from 6/19 and 6/26, so lots of clipping ahead of me.

If anyone wants some KFC BOGO coupons, please let me know and I can mail some out:  Exp. is July 10, 2011.  I’m gonna need to get stamp money ’cause I’m going broke!

last minute Jewel – Lisle

As you’re probably aware, that Scott paper deal is running once again – just when you thought it was safe to walk the paper aisle.  The same one from each category gets you a $1 OYNO cat.  In this case, I still had about 30 of the .50 coupons for the wipes from 5/22 S, so placed my special order.  Ran two transactions here:  first one was 5 Dannon, one wipe and one tp.  Total was $3.70 – got back a $2 cat for the Scott.

Next run was just one wipe and one toilet paper using the .50 and the previous $2 – ended up spending .59 (.21 high tax) for both, or about half the toilet paper alone.

I wanted to pick up some of the Tyson breaded chicken bags but they were completely out; got a rain check for 30.  Funny how that number doesn’t even strike me as odd anymore, how about you?  Do you find yourself thinking in terms of dozens where a few years ago it was one or two for the next couple of weeks?  Anyway, just so you know, the pdf coupon also works on the big (2.5 pounds) uncooked drumsticks and thighs bags (All Natural) that are also on sale for $4.99.  just sayin’

Jewel deal on Tyson

I wasn’t gonna post this ’cause it’s not as cheap as it’s been, but dayum, they are tasty, so here goes:  The Tyson breaded chicken bags are on sale this week for $4.99, probably about two bucks off.  However, here is a very nice $3 pdf  Tyson Chicken Tenders coupon to use.  Two bucks?  Not too bad, since these packs are almost two pounds.  Note that this coupon takes up the whole page with stupid pictures.  If you have a Mac, you can set the print to two per page and your coupons can be easily scanned.

Lisle Jewel – Yogurt update

I ran a few transactions just to make sure everything worked correctly.  Here’s what I found out:

1.  Trigger is, as has been reported, five yogurts.  When you scan the fifth one, an instant $4 savings pops off.  Throw in the five $1 coupons and you pay $1.11 (low tax on $10).

2. Deal does not stack.  While I’ve read about other people being able to stack this, I could not and would not recommend trying it.  Really, why make a big deal about just running a separate transaction (or 1000)?

3. Both coupons work on either product.  don’t ask…

So, there you have it.  I gave a heads up to CS at the Lisle Jewel to have plenty of stock brought in.  If you are looking for product AND a great environment in which to run your deals, please shop there.  If you want to special order, give them a call (630/964-5166).

This now concludes the Jewel (un)paid promotion.

Dannon coupons giveaway – winners

NEWS FLASH – THOSE WHO HAVE NOT YET CONTACTED ME ABOUT CLAIMING THEIR COUPONS ONLY HAVE UNTIL TOMORROW, TUESDAY, AT 10 AM.  AFTER THAT I PICK REPLACEMENT NAMES. and i’m giving you an extra day at that!

Hate that term, ’cause it automatically makes the rest of you…what’s that word?  Oh, yeah, LOSERS…which you’re not…well, not in relation to this giveaway, anyhoo.

Here are the 25 winners who will each get two stapled packs of ten Dannon coupons, which will get you twenty packs for $4 and tax.  Gave up on the PITA selection method and went totally 20th century with a random number generator.  First FB, then Twitter…the changes just keep a  coming.  If any of the 25 winners does not respond through the Contact Tab on top by Monday 10 am, that prize will be forfeited and another name will be selected.  Also, and this is important:  If any of you want me to put your coupons in an envelope and leave them at the Lisle Jewel customer service desk, let me know. You’ll get your coupons immediately.  This Jewel is awesome and everyone who shops there is thrilled with the experience.  If you are going anywhere near there, you would be able to run all transactions in a row with no eye-rolling, huffing and/or puffing or the dreaded “minute reading of all the print on each and every coupon, even if they’re all exactly the same.”  It happens at other Jewels, I hear.

Again, thanks to everyone who commented. Even after giving away this batch, I should have about 80 coupons left, some of which MUM has strong-armed me to turn over to her four year old whirling dervish. A few more to friends, sycophants and miscreants and what’s left will be given out to first comes…byw…I tried the crush ones (cherries and cream) and WOW! this is great! And the little smoothie bottles are waaaayyy too small. Maybe I should open about 79 of them and pour them into a quart bottle…

Have finally finished clipping and stapling these suckers into sets of ten…let’s just say that there is no chance in the world that anyone will accuse you of gang cutting, ok?  And what are the final totals?  Well, I seem to have been a weeee bit off in my calculations.   I have 30 sets of 10 of the Dan-o-nino and 28 sets of 10 of the Danimals…a son who loathes coupons and couponers even more than he did earlier today (incredible as that may seem) and a right thumb suffering from carpal tunnel.

THUS, I am announcing an increase in the number of possible winners, from ten to 25.  The only stipulation is that you must be willing to accept either of the coupons (and remember that either work, hehehehe), since I will have no way of knowing in advance what everyone’s preferences are.  well, at least in yogurt.  in other things you’re a mighty twisted group.  not that there’s anything wrong with that…

How about  a giveaway of the $1/1 Danonino and $1/1 Danimals coupons from the 6/5 S insert?  That’s the one I somehow managed to acquire about 300+ of and frankly, that’s way more yogurt than any human could use in a lifetime, even rubbing it all over their body and letting the dogs lick it…..wait, did I say that out loud?!  crap

Seriously, folks, Jewel is having one of those Buy X get $ off instantly starting today.  They seem to be running these all the time now, instead of the catalina promotions.

So here’s the deal:  Buy 5 packs (the trigger amount) of yogurt for $10, get an instant $4 off, hand over five $1 coupons and pay $1 for 5 packs of Dannon.  PITA will choose ten winners who will each get 20 coupons, your choice.  If we seem to have more coupons, I will add those numbers to the giveaway.  Please comment before Saturday, 5 pm.  Don’t forget that you can buy the stuff after winning but before you get the coupons, since you can return within 60 days with your receipt and coupons for cash back.

Jewel downtothewire shopping

Tomorrow (6/23) is the last day for wine tags at Jewel 🙁 and I’m not letting grass grow under my feet – tornadoes or no tornadoes.  Husband says he doesn’t know where all these pub burger are fitting, but it’s my game of Freezer Tetris and I make the rules.  And most people would have no problem with ice cream and pierogi for dinner – again.

So here you see my penultimate Jewel trip (unless I can score more wts, that is):  3 packs of clearance meat (clearance tags and $2 wts); 8 packs of 2-burger pubs; 1 Canada Dry green tea ginger ale; 5 bags of Doritos and 6 packs of pork chops for a grand total of $19.90.  I’ll hold on to the receipt and hope that a few $/$$ cats drop into my bag…

Jewel quickies

Obviously we’re getting down to the last stretch of the Wine Tags Open, and all future posts will probably consist of Doritos, pub burgers and clearance meat.  and life continues to be good...

Jewel

Another quick run through Jewel to pick up wine tag items; I was able to score a slight bit of overage on the cube steak because it  had a $2 clearance coupon attached to it.  Ended up spending $2.78.

Jewel – redux

Seriously, I was just driving by and decided to run in for a few wine tag items.  I’m trying to pick up just a few at a time, instead of waving red flags to the beer mfrs – yooo hooo, look what I can do!  So here we have 4 Jays chips, 4 Doritos, two Craisins and two packs of pub burgers.  The Doritos are running me a buck each, ’cause the sale price changed, and I’m putting out $1.50 for each pub burger pack.  Total OOP was $7.70 and life is good.

Jewel – Lisle

We’re getting down to the wire on wine tags, so I’m trying to use up as many as I can.  Which explains my high OOP ($28.44 less my MIR of $6.99 or $21.45)).  All told, I ended up with:  2 watermelon cuts; 2 Planters nut-rition (delicious!!!); 4 Craisins ($2/4 – used $2 fruit wts); Biggest Loser Zing Chicken (I will mail in for the $6.99 rebate); 2 pkgs skirt steak; 2 Jays Kettle chips; 1 dz extra-large eggs; 3 2-pk pub burgers and 1 4-pk; bag of Farmstand peaches and finally, Jewel brand hot dog and hamburger buns.  Just noticed that my receipt shows coupons tendered:  $51.31 (includes a $5/$50 and free dozen eggs)!  Well, I would certainly hope so!
