Jewel doubler coupons

I verified that we can use RRs for the couponing doubler event.  Since they’re all manufacturer coupons, it would be a no-brainer for me, but just so you’re prepared, some cashiers might refuse it on the grounds that it’s a Walgreens coupon and as a store coupon, would not be accepted for doubling.  They’d be wrong, but I choose to pick and fight my own battles.  I would wait until the last day to use these anyway, because I don’t think it’s a very good use of an RR, unless you’re buying something that you normally can’t afford for which there isn’t a coupon.

In that case, you’re brilliant, dahling!

Best news yet on the Jewel double coupon

I was just reading the fine print on the Jewel doubler coupon and this is what it says (as best I can read the tiny, blurry print:  Maximum value $1.00.  Coupons valued at $1.00 or higher are not eligible for doubling.  Manufacturer coupons valued at over $1.00 will be matched by $1.00.

It also goes on to say that these are store coupons and cannot be stacked with another store coupon.  Also, store coupons will not be doubled.  I’ve posted the big photo of the coupons – see if you can make out the teeny print.

This means, kids, that those $1+ coupons you have hanging around just got a whole new life!  This is a great deal for tearpad coupons, too.

Jewel doubling updates – bumped up

Picked up a ton of dog food on the clearance rack – mostly Iams for $6 a 17.5 lb. bag!  There’s a $1 coupon off Iams dry food in the May P&G insert which comes out this Sunday, so my $100 bill is gonna drop considerably!

While there I did a fast walk through, checking what would make for the best deals for the double coupon event starting Sunday.  Here’s what I’ve come up with so far (Lisle will be bringing in large quantities of these items, but if you want to place a special, call 630/964-5166).

1.  Palermo’s Hand Tossed Pizzas are BOGO at $8.49.  Use the $1 coupon from either the 3/25 s or the IP on coupons.com.  $2.25 for a large pizza.  Note:  The $1 insert coupon also scans without beeping (old registers) on the Classic pizzas which are on sale 5/$10.  This would make them free, but they’re smaller, the quality just isn’t there (okay?  they suck) and it’s the wrong item for the coupon.  If you get caught your reputation will suffer, ’cause it’s not likely you just made a mistake.

2.  Johnsonville chicken sausages are $3.49, but part of the Fav 4, so the price drops to $3 when you buy the four.  Use the $1 coupon from 3/25 s for $1 a pack sausages.  There will also be a $1 coupon in the 4/29 s.  These sound very tasty – definitely will be picking these up to freeze!

3,  Almond Accents are normally $3.99, but on sale for $2.50.  Use the $1 coupon in the 4/22 s for 50¢ bags of almonds.   These suckers are great – all flavors!

4.  Finesse shampoo and conditioners are on sale 2/$4 and there’s a $1 coupon in 4/22 s for FREE shampoo and/or conditioner.

5.  Frigo string cheese is on sale BOGO for $4.99.  Use the 55¢ coupon from 1/29 s for cheap string cheese.  Note:  This coupon expires 4/30, so you only have two days to use it.

6.  GM Cereal is part of the Buy 5 get $5 OYNO and 20 bonus box tops.  They’re also on sale 2/$5.  Click the find a coupon tab on the top of the page and search for Cheerios.  You will see a 75¢ coupon for the PB multigrain Cheerios.  Print five out (find three computers, dammit!) and your cereal is FREE after the OYNO.  Been a while since we had free cereal.  If you can’t print more than two, use the $1/3 coupon from 4/22 s.  Not free, but pretty cheap.  Sale is only on Honey Nut Crunch, Peanut Butter Muli-grain Cheerios, Cocoa Puff and Lucky Charms.

7.  The small bottle of Tabasco is on a price drop to $1.59.  Use the 60¢ coupon from 3/25 s for some very, very cheap Tabasco.

8.  Marzetti Simply Dressed is on sale for $2.50.  Use the $1 coupon from 3/4 s for cheap dressing.  Note:  This coupon expires 4/29, so only valid on Sunday.

9.  ALL laundry detergent is on sale $3.99.  Use the $1 coupon from 4/01 rp paired  with the Buy All get Free Snuggle coupon from this week’s sales ad.  Pay $1.99 for both!

10. Di Lusso Beef is $4.79 a half pound and the Di Lusso Swiss cheese is $8.58 a pound.  Use the $1 coupon per 1/2 pound from 4/22 s for half/price lunch meat.  and who’s ever heard of that before?

Jewel free deodorant – no doubler needed

Mennon Speedstick has been on BOGO sale for about a week now at Osco, but the 4/29s insert contains a BOGO coupon!  Two BOGOs = FREE products!  The Lisle Jewel has some stock now, but will be getting in much larger quantities early next week.  The sale continues through 5/11 and the coupon doesn’t expire until 5/19, so even with a raincheck you’ll be good to go.  If you are interested in placing special orders, the Jewel number is 630/964-5166 (but you knew that already, right?)

Jewel coupon doublers 4/29

Read on CW (thanks Jeffnvic) that the April 29 Sunday Jewel ad will have the return of the doubler coupons.  You know, the same deal as last February, where the ad contained five coupons that you could pair with mfr coupons up to $1 in value to get them doubled.  Last time corporate limited the ads to certain neighborhoods – bad Jewel.  They wised up and put the coupons online for all to share  – – well, all those who have access to a computer that is.

The last go-round we had the Dannon Activia four-packs for free – now?  Not so good.  Makes you really realize how much the coupons have dropped in value in only a few short months.  We used $1 coupons on deodorants:  now you’re looking at $1/2.  Instead of real ice cream and pizza, Jewel is offering Clemmy’s ice cream and Savy’s pizza.  wtf is this stuff?!

You could clip out the $1 coupons (3/25 s)  and/or click here for two IPs (I used zip 60532) for Palermo’s hand-tossed pizzas – they’re BOGO at $8.99, so use two coupons and pay $4.89 for two.  Not free, but I can live with it.  Any suggestions, please comment.  We’ve got a couple of days left.

While checking out the coupons coming out on 4/29, I noticed that we’ll have three inserts:  Smart Source, red plum and a Pepsi.  Normally, Pepsi inserts suck donkey balls, but this one has a coupon for a FREE Starbucks Refresher, their latest “energy” drink.  Expires 5/19, so plenty of time to order coupons or find the product.  I’d recommend getting quite a few 4/29 papers because you can always trade if you don’t like the product and then the rest of your inserts are free!

Jewel – $2.23 (but it included organic chips)

Wanted to pick up a few of the Lawry marinades and Ken’s dressings, so headed over to Jewel.  You see here 24 of each, a quart and a pint of Coffee Mate, loaf of French bread, buncha organic bananas, Wild Harvest tortilla chips, Brawny paper towels, Fresh Express 10 oz salad mix.  Used the mfr coupons for Lawry and Ken’s, the store coupons for the Ken’s, a $2 produce store cat, free paper towel store cat, free $5 OYNO from Diet Coke that someone left behind, a FREE Coffee Mate mfr coupon and a get a pint when you buy the quart IP, free chips or pretzels store cat, $5/$55 store cat…phew!  I think that’s it.  The catalina machines were really spitting out the store cats today.  I have a few more that I didn’t use.

Ken’s salad dressing and Lawry’s marinade PSA

If your local Jewel follows corporate coupon policy and won’t adjust down your coupons (let alone give you overage), you can always trot over over to Walmart and do the price-match thingy – not only will you get the sale price, you will also get overage to reduce that tax (1.75% food tax).  I’d advise taking the ad with you – they claim you don’t need it, but…

Remember, the Ken’s sale is only valid for Thursday-Saturday, while the Lawry’s goes through the entire sale week.

Jewel 4/19-21 – Free Ken’s dressing & Lawry’s marinades

Saw this on CW, but wanted to clear it with my Jewel to make certain they could get sufficient quantity, since it’s only a three-day sale.

Ken’s salad dressing will be on sale for 99¢ each when you buy two (with in-ad coupon).  The 3/11 ss has a $1 coupon right there on the cover; expiration is 4/30.  Just learned that the Ken’s $1 coupon was definitely regional – the first time we lucked out!

The Lawry’s marinades will be on sale B2G1. Since the ring price is $1.49 each, that brings the cost down to a buck each.  Use the $1 coupon from 4/15 rp (that sweet one with the Black Flag and the Aquafresh coupons) to score some free marinade.  These are great marinades, folks, if you’ve never tried them before.  I plan to stock up enough to get me through the fall grilling season.

WeClip has said they will have one person whose sole job will be getting out the Lawry’s coupon (we have emails in to learn if the Ken’s dressing was a regional and other areas got marinades instead), so let them know what you want as soon as possible – this is only a three-day sale.  Remember, you can always buy the items, pay with a credit card and then return with your coupons.  I prefer to not put out cash if I don’t have to, though!

If you’re doing specials at the Lisle Jewel, their phone number is 630/964-5166.

Jewel today

Make sure to  always check your store’s clearance cart/end cap – there are some great deals to be found.  The Hidden Valley garden vegetable ranch dressing was only 75¢, so I took all three, the Wild Harvest rice was $1.25 per 2 lb bag, peas and navy beans were both 30¢ each. They also had Hidden Valley tomato and bacon – lots of them!  I bought ten of the VandeKamps parchment bake tilapia using a rain check for last week’s BOGO sale and five BOGO IPs.  I have more on my rain check, so I’ll get some when:  1) I clear a path in a freezer, any freezer and 2) I locate a few more BOGO IPs.  Total was $12.95, of which 75¢ was tax.  Paid with three $4 RRs (from Luster White) and a buck.  I HATE paying for food…and clothing…and, well, pretty much everything.

Lots of Alessi balsamic vinegars, Alessi soup mixes, Uncle Ben rice mixes…

Jewel took me for $2.27!

Used a bunch of the $1 Fisher coupons to get free trail mix (I have more coming as a special order w/ rain check), four boxes of Van de Kamp’s parchment bake pairing the Jewel BOGO sale with the BOGO IP and the FREE Bird’s eye vegetables when you buy a parchment bake IP (no longer available – I knew that stupid coupon would come in handy!), two of these clearance hyper-caffeinated coffee packs and a ham.

I paid with the Fisher coupons, the fish coupons, the veggie coupons, a $1 when you use Discover catalina, the $10 ham coupon from the Thursday ad and a $1 Wags RR.  Ended up spending $2.27 – what am I, rich?  I also got a rain check for 12 more of the Van de Kamps because I’m getting more coupons and the BOGO sale ends today.
