New Jewel coupon booklet

I believe all the Jewel stores now have this coupon booklet in stock, so it’s time to post about it.  Couple of very decent coupons (for once!), including a $1 off any S&D pub burger (regular ones are $2 and the junior ones are $1 – buy two juniors and smush ’em together!) and $1 off any Essential Everyday item.  You can usually find the EE items on sale for about a buck, so freebies here, too.

My recommendation is to grab as many as you can and hold ’em.

Rachel says the ones that are $2 each (and $1.25 at her jewel) are jewel brand now – they changed. I checked. Not S&D any more.

Jewel – FREE Smart Balance & clearance cart

Lots and lots of juice boxes on the clearance rack today – the Capri Sun was 75¢ and I used the .75/3 coupon from 5/6 S;  the Juicy Juice was $1.  Had a cat for the bakery bread and paper towel and PITA “found” a cat for FREE Hot Pockets Snackers.  Used the $1 from 5/6 S for the Smart Balance butter spread which went on sale for $1 yesterday, the 14th.  It will be on sale until the 28th, if you’re interested in either ordering coupons or placing a special order.  The Lisle Jewel carries the canola oil and the canola & olive oil varieties.  WeClip has almost 500 of the coupons for 9¢ each.

Jewel doubler-tripping

Back home from the wars, honey!  I ended up with an additional 64 packages of chicken sausage because my pub burger freezers were looking empty.  Ten more of the All/Snuggle combo, a FREE baguette, eight more Frigo string cheese, two Simply OJs, two of those incredibly over-priced BOGO pastas (lobster, wild mushrooms, things like that), five LUNA bars, about 10 Tabasco small size bottles, three Think Thin bars.  I’m exhausted!!!

The chicken sausages orders never came in, so I paid in advance for them.  Every store operates differently, but I like that Lisle allows me to pay upfront.  When the stuff arrives, I just grab it and go without worrying about waiting in line or having any cash on me.  It’s the easy-peasy way to shop.

Jewel + double coupons = uber luv

I can’t believe the amount of time I’ve been spending in Jewel lately  –  neither can my family…Keep your eyes open for all the store cats that are spitting out.  My guess is they’ve programmed them because you can’t use them with the doublers.  But that’s okay, because you can stack them with mfr coupons, so it’s even better.  I’ve got five gallons of lavender bleach that were completely free using the $1.50 household cleaning coupons, free bakery bread, FREE roll of paper towels, couple of $1.50 dish soap coupons; just keep looking.

The Lisle Jewel has TONS of the Speedstick in both men’s and women’s varieties – grab ’em while you can!  Also still have about five or six cases of the PB Cheerios remaining on top and on the endcaps.  Want anything, head on over!  They also have cases of both the Johnsonville chicken sausages and Almond Accents coming in tomorrow.  Btw, they had more cases of the Almond Accent in the back but no one put them out!!!  The biggest transactions were the All and the sausage — I hate paying for sausage, but what’s a girl to do?  read that as you want…

Reader doubling deal post

I know you get tired of my same old deals, so here’s one from a read who shops Albertsons.  Unfortunately, the ThinkThin bars at Jewel were on sale for $1.79 earlier, but are now back up to $1.99.  Still free, but oh, that overage…

Look what I did with albies and doublers!!!

missing from pic is one mini watermelon and one Think Thin bar. Total for these 6 transactions, each using 2 doublers, was $2.31. Considering 80 cents of that was bottle deposit [10 cents each X 8 bottles] I think I did pretty well!

For the OJ, I used one oj and one barilla coup + doublers to bring the total down to 50 cents. For the produce [grape tomatoes and mini watermelons, $1.99 each] I used one barilla and one Think Thin coup + doublers to also bring the total down to about 23 cents?

I had 2 $1 off coups for the Charmin freshmates [P&G mailers, exp today] and used a barilla coup + doublers to pay about 24 cents?

All 8 Old Orchard juices were free on bogof sale w/bogof coup. Had to throw the bananas in for overage somewhere….

I really lucked out with the Avent pacis as it was on clearance for $1 and I had a $1 off cat from albies [exp today!] and used a doubler for another $1 overage. The best part is that I will be welcoming another grandbaby into the world soon- stepson and his wife are expecting a boy!!

Tomorrow will use the last of my think thin coups and juice and even have one more barilla- LOVIN BARILLA!!! 😉 Our barilla was priced at 99 cents so $1 overage for each coup with doublers!!

Here’s the think think link from a prior post:  http://thinkproducts.com/coupons-promotions/

Phineas and Ferb

I have not the faintest idea who these characters are, what their show is called or even which network carries them.  However,,,,,MUM was unable to find them at two Jewels and her kids are fanatics.  These Reach kid toothbrushes are on sale for $2.  Use the $1 coupon from the 4/29 rp, stacked with a doubler coupon and voila! FREE toothbrushes.  Remember that you are paying high tax on this stuff, though – each toothbrush was almost 15¢! And I couldn’t even imagine what downtown Chicago would pay.

I was actually at Jewel to pick up more of that incredibly tasty Johnsonville chicken sausage for a buck a pack.  Maybe I should rechristen the Pub Burger freezer to the Chicken Sausage freezer.  Yeah, they’re that good.

Cheesy, nutsy Jewel

I’ve had emails asking why I didn’t use the .99 RR from the Pepsi Next deal as doublers instead of the crummy .55 Frigo coupons.  Well, the truth is that I don’t post anywhere near the deals I actually run – how interesting would pictures of 500 Allegra or Tylenol Precise or Speedsticks be after a while?  So here’s a picture of the Frigo cheese, Almond Accents and a $2.54 clearance package of chicken wings.  I had a $1.50 store cat for the fresh meat, so that brought it down to $1.04.  My actual OOP on the above transaction was 50¢, because I threw another .99 RR into the mix for actual value.

And those honey roasted almonds are waaaaay too good to have around the house!

Even more Jewel heart

Call this the string cheese run…I didn’t go to the store for cheese (although that’s as good a reason as any), but had to drive near the Jewel anyway, so decided to pick up some cheese – because you can never have enough cheese I always say.  Two transactions of four Frigo and one All/Snuggle combo.  Used four Frigo 55¢ coupons with the doublers and one All mfr coupon with the free Snuggle when you buy the All from the Thursday sales ad and one doubler to attach to the All mfr coupon.  Total was sucky high:  $8.27, but used a bunch of those free 99¢ RRs from the Pepsi Next to get it down to $1.34.  More respectable to a couponer, at least.

In retrospect, the $8.27 wasn’t too bad, considering the Frigo cheese alone was $9.98 pre-coupon.

The “I heart Jewel shopping” post

We are having a blast with this sale!  I used up a ton of those store cats that PITA always finds; you know, the ones for FREE bakery bread, cleaning products, $SS off a frozen food purchase, etc.  Everything in this picture (two transactions) cost me $3.78 – $2.88 was tax!  Putting it on my Discover card earned me 5% cash back…hahahahahaha

I got four Palermo pizzas, two 1.25 Diet Cokes, four Johnsonville chicken sausages, small Tabasco, French bread, two Brawny single paper towels, 2L Diet ginger ale, two Finesse shampoos, 16 Lady Speedstick deodorants, lavender bleach, 3 Starbucks Refreshers…

I’ll head out again later, after we clip some of the Frigo coupons ’cause we loves us our string cheese.  Stacking the expensive stuff with those store cats taking $XX off a $20 or less purchase enables me to get the price down to tax or slightly higher.

Readers doing the double

Couple of pictures from readers running double deals.  These two were from an Albies (Albertsons) store:

This reader had the Barilla whole wheat pasta on sale for 99¢ cents, with the $1 off fb coup and a doubler gives you a buck overage so I used 2 of them to bring down the price of our bogo frigo. I did not use the frigo coup which is lower value. The string cheese was $7, no smaller sized packs- these are 12 packs, so $5 for all of this which was a 71% savings per my receipt!

This email says the cashier was stupefied!
