Dunkin’ Donuts Gives Me Gas

Gas discounts aren’t just for the grocery store anymore. If you frequently find yourself at Dunkin’ Donuts to fuel up with coffee and a donut, now your visit can fuel up your car as well.

Dunkin’ Donuts has announced a partnership with Shell and its Fuel Rewards program. Members of Dunkin’s Perks Rewards Program can link their account with a Shell Fuel Rewards account to save on future fill-ups. Every time you buy five beverages at Dunkin’, you automatically earn a 10-cents-per-gallon discount on your next visit to Shell.  Read the entire Coupons in the News article here.

Goodbye 24 hour grocery stores?

In our hectic, 24/7 world, you can get practically anything you want, any time you want. Except for groceries at the grocery store, it seems.

24-hour grocery stores appear to be going out of style, as more grocers weigh the costs and benefits of staying open all night for late-shift workers, late-night revelers, college students and insomniacs.  Read how many stores are going back to 11pm and midnight closures in this Coupons in the News article.

Monopoly: this year with $1M instant tkt

Will this be the year you win a million dollars just for going grocery shopping? Millions of shoppers across the country will begin trying their luck today, in the game that always seems to raise our hopes, before leaving us frustrated, annoyed and not a million dollars richer.

But this year, things just might be different – you might actually win. Not only is the grand prize easier to win than ever, but lucky players just like you have done it for the past two years in a row now.

Albertsons’ twelfth annual Monopoly Collect & Win game launches today at more than 2,000 stores, including Albertsons, Safeway, Pavilions, Vons, Randalls, Tom Thumb, ACME, Jewel-Osco, United Supermarkets, Shaw’s, Star Market and several other smaller, regional Albertsons-owned stores.

As in past years, from now through May 5th, you’ll earn a free game ticket each time you make a purchase, with the chance to earn additional tickets for buying promoted items. Each ticket represents a space on a Monopoly board, and if you collect all the tickets in any given group, you earn a prize, ranging from $5.00 to $1 million. Millions of tickets are also instant winners, offering everything from free products, to gift cards, to cash. Here’s the whole Coupons in the News article.

Let’s sue the NFL for, oh, say $867 trillion

Here’s a right-wing advocate who claims the Super Bowl half-time show endangered his eternal soul and is now looking for compensation to the tune of $867 trillion from Pepsi, the NFL and his local cable company. He’s also concerned about Hellfire for sexually exciting the hormones of a 12 year old boy (not sure whether it’s his 12 year old son or a random one). You know, ’cause it was porn… and boy, if he thinks that was porn, he needs to get out more. Here’s the article here.

We won tickets to An American in Paris!

Got a text about An American in Paris tickets for the Saturday 3 pm matinee at Drury Lane Oakbrook for only $25 each (plus $5 service fee) on the Lucky Seat lottery. We won two tickets for Mary Poppins earlier this month.  These were only available because the original winner did not buy them in the 2-hr window and in fact, I had less than 40 minutes to respond to the email with payment link.  Thank the gods we were in a wi-fi area at the time and I heard the text ding!

Lucky Seat rewards fans with access to tickets for amazing events at incredible deals. Enter their digital drawing for the chance to buy event tickets at special prices. If your plans change it doesn’t matter, ’cause you only pay if you win and collect on them.

If you have a very flexible schedule, this is a great way to possibly catch a show.  If you need a definite time and date, you’re definitely better off with Goldstar tickets for a few bucks more.

postman tosses mail – like this is new?

It’s something any good couponer would crave: stacks and stacks of RetailMeNot Everyday coupon inserts. Unfortunately, these particular inserts never got to their intended recipients, and no one ever got to use them – because the post office threw them away.

Actually, this kind of stuff happens frequently enough that you have to say why is this in the news and who is stupid enough to rent a storage facility (or keep them in closets at home – another genius move)?  But if this is new to you, here’s the Coupons in the News article.

Sure we buy Amazon Prime for groceries

Everyone likes getting a good deal. But when it comes to choosing between saving time and saving money, it seems shoppers would rather compromise on cost than on convenience.

If you read the entire article from Coupons in the News you’ll see all the conflicting parts.  Including people who have Amazon Prime memberships is goofy unless they have all their groceries delivered and that’s the main reason they have it, not for shows like Mrs. Maisel and Good Omens or buying text books and furnace filters (as examples).

soy sauce is for tuna, not testicles

Here’s a little bit of fun reading about people (guys, duh) dipping their testicles into soy sauce in the belief that they will be somehow be able to then taste it.  Call me a cynic, but maybe the soy sauce industry started this Gen Z urban legend 🙂   Here’s the article from HuffPost.
