Wags and Jewel

Decided to check out the Wheaton Wags and try my magic with the body wash there.  As you can see, they have plenty of stock still (this is just an endcap), even the pomegranate & orange zest one.   I picked up eight bottles, four Carefreem two Colgate toothpaste and four Tylenol.  Note that the Tylenol was $4.99 at Wheaton and $5.49 in Lisle.  Used four BOGO, four $1 Clean & Clear, four FREE Carefree, two .75 Colgate and four $5 Tylenol Precise paired with the May $3 IVC.   Total was $3.82, of which $3.36 was high tax.  Got back $4 RR from Colgate……

…..which I immediately used at the Jewel next door.  Two dozen eggs, one cottage cheese, one Scott pt and one tp.  Total was $7.26, so paid with a prior $3 Scott cat and $4RR from Colgate.  OOP was .26

A note on the Pampers deal:  I ran this deal twice, just to see if everything worked out – and it worked beautifully.  I was wrong about the small size Pampers wipes; they were $2.50, but have gone back up to $2.99, so not that much of a difference.  You are at $20.99 with the three items, use the posted mfr and Wags coupons and as much $1 overage from the Clean & Clear as you have coupons ($1 for every two bottles).  Pay and get your $5 Pampers coupon and your $3 (which won’t roll, so don’t try it).

  1. Not a single roll of Scott TP is in sight at the two Jewel I stopped by yesterday. I was told warehouse is out.

    • You were lied to. Danada had lots and so did Lisle. I saw the stock at Danada myself and Lisle sold 192 rolls to a friend on Saturday night and they had plenty of cases left.

  2. How do you explain the Clean and Clear body wash to the cashier b/c they said of course that I could not use a b1g1 on a b1g1 offer. I tried to explain they would get their money back but they wouldn’t budge. I will try again but I hear this from a lot of people and wonder how you get them free. Thanks

and here’s the lines you are looking for…print and make them read it, or come over to the stores on the Dark Side…Danada in Wheaton, Lisle and Montgomery!!

Buy One, Get One Free Coupons
When items are featured in a Buy One, Get One Free promotion, up to two coupons can be used against the items being purchased, as long as the net price does not go below zero for the items being purchased.
Sales tax must be paid for any Buy One, Get One Free coupon offers, if required by applicable state laws.

  4. I did the BOGO Clean and Clear at Wheaton today. The machines were ringing up some flavors weird and the coupons wouldn’t go through, but ya gotta love a store where they know what they are doing. The poor girl had to rering them up as all orange flavor (the only one ringing correctly, go figure) and then still had to push through the coupon, but she did so with a smile! Love that Wags!

  5. Went to Danada today and was told by Steve that use of the b1G1 and $1 coupon was not allowed. I removed extra items that I was going to get with overage but so very confused now.

    • Alright then, I spoke with Steve and he’s concerned about having so many coupons that basically he gets audited and shut down. Obviously one or two slipping wouldn’t trigger anything, but you had eight of the $1 – to which I replied “and so?” I can see his point, though, since he’s looking at this deal from a different perspective than we are. I’ll go in there later today with my metal “Persuader” and see if I can’t make him see the (dark) light…

But welcome aboard; the seas are not always this choppy but the language is always salty.

      • Thanks! I thought I was losing my mind as I had gotten this Steve of whom you have talked so fondly and it still just was not working out as planned/explained.
I was happy with getting them for just tax.. Just wish, like most I am sure, that even one store would apply policy more evenly so we know what to expect when going in.

        • Well, it was kinda my fault, I suppose. See, we’ve done this in the past, although not on such a large deal with so many available coupons. And honestly? Steve and his crew are da Bomb when it comes to accommodating us (which is not to slight Lisle or our newest member, Montgomery); please return because they are all super nice and competent and truly appreciate all that we bring to their bonus table…

    • ???? and why are you now anonymous? I’m not happy either. Steve points out that Wags corporate coupon policy states you can’t go below zero using coupons. Like that would stop us. Our corporate position is that they’re getting the full amount from the manufacturers, so what’s their beef? buncha whiners…
