Wags and Jewel – lots for little

Realized that I had $19 in Scotts cats expiring today after I finished up with the Lisle Jewel.  Isn’t that always the way?  So decided to hit the Danada Jewel after Wags.

First of all, I didn’t bother using all my coupons:  yes I cleared the shelves of deodorant but they still have lots in the back and frankly, they need the exercise.  Sorry, Steve, but there it is.  I’m still miffed at him because I wanted to have a body wash/deodorant trunk sale in the parking lot and he did not think that was a good idea.  Jeez, whatever happened to friendly competition?  He’s just afraid my prices would be lower – and they would be.  Anyway, the left photo is a full shopping bag that I’m too lazy to line up for their photo opportunity, only to take them downstairs.  Let’s just say there is an awful lot of product in the bag and leave it at that…

So shoot over to Jewel to see what we could see – – How about some $2 meat wts (on Skyy vodka display) over by the meat!?  Didn’t even have to make a detour to the liquor department!  Sweet!  There was a display rack with $1 mfr coupons for pork products, so I picked up a few of them. A manager’s special on boneless, skinless chicken breast for $1.99/lb looked good, so I took a few large packages and added a quart of 18% cream.  Now why is it that the 100% dairy product is cheaper than Coffeemate?  by a buck!  Ended up paying out $1.49.  Oh, well, sometimes you have to pay to eat… but not often, luckily!

  1. We just bought some boneless pork chops, would this work on those? And where are these coupons exactly? I go to the Danada one.

    • The Danada store had them in a little plastic holder/shelf right by the pork section in the meat department (not the butcher). And you should have the butcher wrap up the pork chops individually so you can use a coupon on each one. My suggestion is to take a bunch of the coupons (they’re actually little leaflets with recipes, too) and hold off for either a kick-ass sale or when you see the pork on clearance.

Oh, to answer your pork question: This is a mfr coupon put out by the pork association (not the political one, the meat one), so all pork products work.

um, don’t try this, ever, at Meijer…dumbasses can’t figure out how to package anything singly and its a waste of your time…UFB!
