OK, here’s the scoop on why the Cottonelle cats aren’t printing (for the most part) at Walgreens. The UPC that works is 0 36000 13396 7. This package was discontinued at Walgreens a very long time ago (at least a year). We are talking about some seriously old stuff here, folks (and I’d definitely be checking dates on the meds). That old package had rolls containing 167 sheets, while the new large ones only contain 148 sheets. hmmmmm. So if you’re looking to score this great deal AND SINCE IT’S A NATIONAL CATALINA, check out your Jewel and Dominicks, etc. using this UPC and see what turns up.
I didn’t post this earlier, because, frankly, I HAVE TONS OF TP AND FIGURED YOU DID, TOO! That said, perhaps you didn’t pick up the 4 bazillion I did and are interested in the following national catalina promotion which was scheduled to start today. Walgreens has the 12 pk of the large roll Cottenelles on sale for $5.
Buy two for $10.00.
Use two $.50/1 printables = $9.00. The print limit has already been reached, but if you have some you printed out earlier…
Get back $3.50 for an OOP of $5.50/2, or $2.75 a 12 pack. without the coupons you’re at $3.75 each 12 pack
-or-
Buy three for $15.00.
Use three $.50/1 printables = $13.50.
Get back $4.50, for an OOP of $9.00/3, or $3.00 per 12 pack. without the coupons you’re at $3.83.
Unfortunately, there seems to be a severe glitch in the system, because some Walgreens are generating the cat and most others are not. I am waiting for a list of working UPCs which I will have Wheaton run through their computer system. Until then? Hold off for another day. If your store is sold out, get a rain check (which would be the best way to handle this).
Even when not on sale, the buy 1 Scott TP and PT and get $2 OYNO at Jewel is one of the best deal around I think. That’s the only deal I’ve ever done for PT and TP. I mean for $.78 + tax, you’re getting a roll of each, I think that’s pretty good. But then when it’s on sale, well now you’re just paying tax on it, making it the best deal for sure.
BTW, when comparing prices on paper towels, what do you go by, the actual amount of rolls in the package, or what it says that it’s the same as? You know, the 12 = 18 thing. I mean you can’t ignore the fact they’re big rolls, but at the same time it’s somewhat marketing I’m sure. I’d guess the best thing to do would be to just say it’s 15. Most companies are doing it now though, so it doesn’t really matter which figure you use for comparison I guess.
I was wondering if you got the list of upc’s that are working for the cottonelle. I was at Wags this morn. and they only sell 12 roll 0 36000 29578 8. I did not buy it, as it was not the upc you posted on CW.
I tried calling Catalina, but Ravi Sheila (ha) could not give that info out and hung up on me, when I asked for a supervisor.
Can someone get ahold of Catalina and let them know this is NOT working?
As far as I know, the only UPC that’s working is that very old one I posted. Even Jill Cataldo posted in her weekly Deals that the deal is not working at Walgreens. If that doesn’t wake up Catalina, nothing else will. My best guess is that whoever is in charge of this promo at Catalina Marketing decided to just pull out the last Cottonelle deal, change the dates and run with it, not bothering to check whether the UPC were current. Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy work. This would obviously explain why the only working code at Walgreens is from a product that was discontinued at least a year ago.
