Sobe giveaway

I’ve won a few of the free Sobes from their game.  Honestly, though, given the recent spate of BOGO deals, I would rather get the BOGO printable than wait for snail mail.

See this coupon that came in today’s mail?  It’s the first one I won, approximately 6 weeks ago.  AND, it has an expiration date of 9/30/2010.  Which means any bottles won in the last week or so will only be redeemable at Dominicks.  Maybe I should apply for a job at their fulfillment house?

We love our Sobe!

Now when I pull into my garage, my husband comes out and says, “Let me guess, more Sobe?”  Well, duh.  If it’s free it belongs to me.  Another 30 bottles today for a tax payment of $1.84.  I was driving out west and passed a huge CVS, so naturally I stopped.  Lots of stock and lower tax rates.  What’s not to love?

Another round of shopping

Call me a masochist, but I was determined to get a sufficient supply of these treats just to prove it could be done.  I only had clipped out about 15 of the mfr coupons, so that’s it until the week-end.  The Sobe at this Target (Woodridge) was still selling for $1 each, which makes it a much better deal, tax wise, than the CVS BOGO currently running through Saturday.  So my OOP on this run?  $.95.  Shall we repeat my mantra?  Damned taxes!
Next over to Ultra in Downers Grove to see if they had the Purex 3 in 1 – NO.  Same sad, empty shelves.  Same walk to customer service.  Same 2 rolls of tp, a bunch of green bananas and 3 boxes of Kitten Chow.  Oh, well, Chiquita bananas are always good.  I think they’re better than the Dole.  Total OOP here:  $1.16.  repeat mantra…

Decided to hit the CVS that was unloading the truck yesterday, since it was on the way home.  Either they have the slowest workers in history, got shorted on their order or experienced the biggest run on Sobe in CVS history!  Was only able to grab 12 Sobe and then found the Emerald brand nuts.  There is a $1/1 coupon for any Emerald nut products in 8/15 RP.  They’re hoping you will use them for the glazed nuts BOGO sale, which is still a good price, but the puny containers are 4.5 oz of either honey roasted or dry roasted peanuts and at 10/$10, they’re free.    OOP here was $1.09.

Stupor Target and other fun stops

Whenever you break out of your normal routine and shop a different location, it’s usually a bust.  Case in point today at another Target.  First they had only a few packs of the Cesar treats (stacking the coupons does equal free), which is weird, since the deal started at least ten days ago, so plenty of time to restock.  Then I get a cashier who has to scrutinize every friggin coupon.  every.  one.  Here’s a flash from the cape people:  “If you are buying multiple items, exactly the same, there is no need to study each coupon and then exclaim that that one is alright.  It’s a given.

Next waste of time was at Ultra.  They apologized for not having the Purex 3 in 1 sale packs (never got them in from warehouse) and gave me a rain check. Driving over for free Kitten Chow and two rolls of ghastly tp is a waste of time, although cs was very nice.  And it’s not their fault the warehouse screwed up.

Then the CVS  (in Wheaton on Roosevelt/Blanchard) on the way home had the same lone bottle of Sobe that had been there on Sunday.  However, they did have the Crest Pro-Health Enamel Shield on the clearance counter as you come in for either $1.34 or $1.45 (two prices, both 440 ml size).  No coupons out there, but if you need mouthwash, it’s a pretty decent price.  There were probably 5 or 6 that I saw on top, maybe more underneath the pile.

A CVS Saga – or Thank God for Target

Stopped by CVS to pick up some more free Sobe for the beverage basement; we seem to have gone through a ton this past hellish-weather week-end.  One crushed bottle of Sobe in the cooler, no fish food and the magic coupon machine had a sign taped over it “Out of Paper.”  Really?  Can someone not make sure there is sufficient supply on these things?  This is why my heart still belongs to Wags:  usually have sufficient stock and approximately 4000 in a ten mile radius.  Yes, CVS gives you those never-expire rainchecks, but some employees give you grief when you attempt to redeem them.  I’ve heard stories…..but that’s for another time.  later

FREE Sobe – Bumped up 8/16

Once again CVS will be having their Sobe BOGO sale, running 8/15 through 8/21.   This ties in nicely with the Sobe Heads or Tails promotion that’s been running for a few months now.  Register at this site Sobe,  and you can play a rather inane game to win prizes.  The least you can win is a printable BOGO coupon, and we all know what happens when you use a BOGO coupon during a BOGO sale, right:  FREE SOBE!!!  You can play this game several ways:  once every day without using a code and up to 25 times using a winning code (from the inside of a bottle cap).   After the first BOGO coupon prints, hit the back button and print one more.   Since CVS started running this deal, I’ve scored, well, let’s just say a lot.

Target 8/12 $1.15 OOP

Stopped at Target with the family to pick up some socks and stuff.  Naturally we didn’t get any of that stuff, so settled for more of the same ole.  I ended with 30 bottles of Sobe, 12 cans of Chef Boyardee (ooh, healthy whole grain), 3 lbs of bananas and a cheese bagel (hmmm, which disappeared before I could photo it…).  By combining store and mfr coupons, the register amount kept dropping.  Sort of like a limbo register (how low can you go).   Remember to keep playing the Sobe game to score your free BOGOs and try to pick out only the game caps.  Target always has a bunch of store coupons, which you can print out and stack with the mfr coupons.  They currently have a $1 off produce coupon and a $.50 off bakery coupon; both the $1 Chef Boyardee and $ .50 Sobe coupons seem to have vanished.  When you see great deals like this, print them out and save for another sale.  In this case, print out the produce and bakery.  If I can locate more of the CBAD and Sobe store coupons, I’ll post same.
