Restaurant.com Weekly Promo Offer 728 x 90

I’m not pushing certificates today, because, frankly, the current “deal” just isn’t…well, at least to me and to anyone who has ever bothered to take my advice. ahem, now where was i? oh, yeah… Remember when I told you that restaurants typically have a set number of vouchers they release?  I spoke with someone a few days ago who was trying to find restaurants in Naperville/surrounding areas, but wasn’t coming up with many.  If you need/want a specific restaurant and see it today, then book it while it’s available, because, as my reader found out, there is no guarantee that it will be there at the end of the month.

If you purchased a number of vouchers and kept them in blank (gift certificates they’re called on the site), check which restaurants have reset and print out vouchers for the restaurants you want.  If you change your mind, call customer service and they’ll make the switch.

The 80% off sale has been extended for a few more days.  I only post this because one reader mentioned that she and her bf have been eating out lots more and paying, obviously, lots less (she’s also doing less home cooking, since there’s plenty of leftovers).  Since she’s down to 6 certificates, I realized that some of you might be in the same boat, so here it is.  If you’re not in need of a particular restaurant/day, I’d recommend just stocking up on blank vouchers, since they don’t expire, ever.  For more details on the way this works, please see prior posts.

Click here and enter JOY in promo code Just in case you were under some rock the past couple of months, Restaurant.com is a wonderful way to enjoy eating out on the cheap.  You choose a $25 voucher (some restaurants offer $50 vouchers as well) and pay 1, 2 or 3 dollars, depending on the current promotion.  Your choice of either getting one (or more) for a particular restaurant or keeping it blank in your account and choosing the restaurant at a later date:  vouchers do not expire.  I got a message from one reader who really stocked up on the last couple of deals (she had never heard of them before my posts).  She and her bf have been eating out all over, experiencing lots of new places for very little cash.  She took my advice to buy the dinner of the month certificate, where a new certificate is available to you every month (they send you a reminder email) and got the $50 bonus.  She forgot all about the bonus until Restaurant.com sent her an email!  See, these people don’t forget!   If a restaurant closes or leaves the program, you are sent an advisory email; you can either leave the blank certificate in your account or pick another restaurant.  Traveling and want a cheap meal?  Check their listings for local restaurants and print out a certificate.  See?  easy-peasy!

There isn’t any downside to this deal, folks.  Remember, I don’t publish deals I don’t actually try or use.  This promo ends Sunday, December 12, 2010.

Now they’re not only doing the 80% off deal, but also having a raffle for a 46″ HDTV.  I always push these certificates because they’re such a great value.  I have a bunch of them stored in my account, some with specific restaurants, most left blank.  I just got my first dinner of the month email from the last go-round, and that’s a pretty neat gift idea, too.
