Restaurant.com Weekly Promo Banner 120x60
I’m only posting this as a reminder to check your favorite restaurants to see if they’ve added more vouchers, since most places reset at the beginning of every month, which is why this is such a sucky deal. 50% off?! puhleez…

If you listen to the Goddess, you will purchase these puppies when they are at 80 or 90% discount. Buy them in gift certificate form (blank) and then choose your restaurant after resets. See? Makes more sense, right?

What’s better than a 80% restaurant.com promo?  (well, obviously, 90%, smartass)  An 80% promotion with a $10 e gift card!  That’s right, with any order you get a free e gift card emailed to you. Time to pick up a few more vouchers…

Rule No. 1:  Never pay the full price on these vouchers.

Rule No. 2: Stock up on gift certificates when the sale is 80% or greater. You then have time to pick your own restaurant if it’s currently out of vouchers.  Most restaurants limit the quantity and value of the vouchers they release each month.

Rule No. 3: Since they never expire, will never lose value and you can switch from one restaurant to another…what’s the downside? None that I have ever seen…

PITA picked out Blue Ginger in Woodridge (seafood/sushi) for her birthday a couple of weeks ago and we were all very pleased with the quality and service.  Pricey, but hey, that’s why you buy vouchers, isn’t it?

See? We’re back to the 80% promo. My recommendation here is to just go with the Dinner of the Month club, where every month a blank certificate is deposited into your account. No need to worry that the restaurant you want won’t be available at the price you want:  See it, click it, done. Easy-peasy approach with a voucher that will never expire.  I use ’em and have never had a problem with either the vouchers being accepted or exchanges over the phone using customer service.

Last day for 80% restaurant.com

Restaurant.com Weekly Promo Offer 468 x 60

Don’t forget that today, the 28th, is the last day to get your vouchers for 80% off.  Next sale will undoubtedly be the 60% one.  Then the 70%…  My advice is to buy a group in blank form (gift certificates), then leave them in your account bank until the beginning of March.  Most restaurants have very little inventory available by the end of every month, and release new ones in the beginning.  So come March 1st, you can either keep your vouchers in blank or transfer them for the newly released restaurant vouchers.

And don’t forget that if you are traveling, it’s a great idea to check the various restaurants and cafes in the places you’ll be visiting.  A reader left for a quick week-end trip and chose two vouchers for her lunch and dinner treats (for $4 total!).

Dine-in Food

Don’t know exactly how to title this post, because I don’t want to piss off the Groupon Gods, but there are so many deals floating around you have to stay sharp.  Seems so many of the same businesses drift from one site (with one price) to another (with a slightly different price), so how do you know what to do?

My advice is to ALWAYS check Restaurant.com to see if a place is part of their roster of restaurants before forking over cash on another deal site.  While a half-off voucher is great (and it might very well be), the restaurant.com voucher will be priced at only 2-3 bucks for that same $25 certificate (never pay the crazy $10 rate) and it will never expire.
