ZarBee’s at Wags

Read a comment from someone about the $3 MM starting 10/31 (how much extra she would have towards Jewel).  My take?  Hold on to the RRs until the following week’s sale and use them to lower your OOP on the Neuragen $19.99 MIR deal ($19.99 – $10q – $6rr =$4).  You’ll need a filler, but there should be cheap Halloween candy still hanging around.  No sense in putting out cashola, then waiting on the checks.  And it gives us time to clear out some freezer space!

Due to some totally screwed up printer issues (grrrr), I was unable to print more than 4 coupons before they disappeared.

More odd stories

Since I can’t seem to generate any enthusiasm for any deals so far this week, I’ve taken to reading oddball stories.  Here’s a goofy one published a few days ago in USA today.  If you run across any, let me know.

Today’s Groupon

Rats!  This cleaning company is located in Matteson, so for all you southside readers, check it out:  50% off their cleaning services!  You can buy up to 10 vouchers, but can only use one per month.  Still, that’s a service that a full time working mom should not have to justify using.   I’d love to “gift” myself with this (well, since I’m not a full time working mom I would have to start looking for the justification…), but unless and until they accept catalinas…

Jewel II – $1.01 gasp!

Sometimes you just have to spend some $$$.  Or in this case $.  Wanted to check out another Jewel’s cheap meat section (and no, they haven’t installed a wine bar), but nothing cheap enough for me. Ended up getting one more pork chop and these two vitamin B-6.  I found both the Red Box cat and a $3.50 cat on any Equaline vitamins or mineral supplements and noticed that these were BOGO at $4.49.

Keep your eyes peeled for the BOGO Mentos coupon (I found mine on a tearpad by the register), since they go BOGO frequently and the exp. date is 12/31/2011 (!).

Jewel, carnivore special $.73

Read about this on CW, so thought I’d check it out.  The boneless pork chops are on sale for $.99 each (or $2.49/lb).  Right on the butcher counter there are Go Hog Wild! booklets that contain $1 on fresh pork.  Hmmmmm!  So I tested it out a couple of ways:  each pork chop individually wrapped for .99 and 2 pork chops at $1.98/package.  Then I saw that there was a BOGO coupon for Stockman & Dakota beef products, which seemed to line up nicely with the beef in the new clearance meat section.

To recap: 12 boneless pork chops and 4 eye of round steaks, plus the rolls for the Papa Charlie’s Italian beef (which we’ve been devouring like flesh-eating ghouls), worked out to be less than a buck.

and I got my pot stamp…

Extremely hot Huggies deal at Wags

Lurking around Rachel’s site and for someone out town, she’s sure come up with a doozie of a deal on diapers, but I’ll just link you to her site for the deets:  mashupmom.com.  Before you leave, though, click here for the coupons.com Huggies $2.50/1 coupon  necessary to work this deal (frankly, if I needed diapers, I’d do a stock up for the next six months). There are a couple of different Huggies coupons, so print them all; I’m not sure if you can use them all, but it doesn’t hurt to try.

More freebies

Thought I’d set up a post with just free stuff, so here goes:

  • free baby carrier from Sevenslings.com (pay $1.98 S&H).  Enter “pumpkin” in the promo code box.   I’d hurry on this one ’cause it’s bound to go FAST!
  • free sample of Tom’s of Maine Wicked Fresh toothpaste.
  • free sample Dove Cool Essentials Deodorant (shipped from Costco).
  • free sample Astroglide personal lubricant (goes with vibrator, of course)
  • coupons.com just added a .50/1 for Old El Paso products.  This, obviously, means FREE seasoning packets at Meijer in the future.  Print using the 90815 zip (I haven’t seen it on other ones – and yes, I checked!)

National Sex Toy Day Giveaway

Boy, the things you can get for free!  Wouldn’t this make a great grab bag gift?  Click here and either sign up with one of your emails or remember to go to the site on November 4 at 11 ET.  I’m going with the email, because I can’t wait to see the stuff they send out!

Thanks to CW and YDF.

Free money — who wants free money?!

Update: I’ve decided to add one more to the winner’s circle.  I will now select five (5) people to each receive a potential $50 in cashola. Also realized dumbass never typed the deadline – Friday, October 29th, at 5:00 pm.

Who wants free money?!  Anybody?  I’ve going to give away five (5) of the $10/1 Neuragen coupons, just in time for the Wags sale starting 11/07/10.  That’s the dealio where it’s on sale for $19.99 and you get back $19.99 on a MIR.  What – you thought I was gonna say RRs?  Trust me, for $10 MM on an RR, I’d be hitting every store in Illinois.  These coupons are not the ones from this week’s rp, but an earlier insert – exp. date is 11/10/10.

I will be randomly selecting four (4) lucky winners, who will each get 5 coupons.  Just post a comment, any comment at all will lure you in, enter you.  This MIR should generate a total of $50, depending on how many people you are…

Happy Day of the Dead

Calaveras con Nombres

Calaveras con NombresThis little oddity was sent to me from a site I signed up for (even though I can’t read it, really) to get some more coupons.  The things we do for love…

Anyway, they’re made using BC white cake mix and BC frosting, which, coincidentally, I just happen to have A WHOLE SHITLOAD OF IN MY BASEMENT.  ahem.  sorry.  The instructions are hard to follow (’cause they’re in Spanish and I can mostly swear, but that’s all), but basically you make 24 cupcakes, 12 big and 12 puny, cut the 12 puny ones and join them up to a big one to make the skull – I’d stick ’em together with the frosting.  White BC frosting and the eyes are some kind of mint chips and the nose is a chocolate chip; slivered almonds make the mouth.  The names are written with a neon pastry gel.

I am so going to make these.  Now that I’ve worked it out in my brainbox, it’s actually not too hard.
