A Little Night (clearance) Shopping

Decided at the last minute to grab the Nature Valley Nut Clusters since between the ecoupons and my insert coupons, they were paying me to take them out.  Well, apparently everyone else did their shopping earlier in the week because the shelves were completely empty.  As in Soviet Russia grocery store empty.   Well, since I was there anyway, I ambled over to the meat department and WHOA, those red clearance stickers started waving to me like a coke ho.  it was  a special moment…  I ended up with all the meat you see here, which is 3 boneless legs of lamb, well,  I’m not going to itemize it here, just look and see.  It is quite a bit.  The total ended up at $36, but I had a $10 cat and a $5 cat, both, coincidentally from Dominicks, so my actual OOP was $21.70.

Then a short hop to CVS, where I could only uncover 8 Sobes.  Really made my night to hear that they were unloading the truck as I stood there.   Oh, well, at least they were the bottles with the game caps.  Used four of my BOGOs and paid tax:  $.56.

Dominicks Updated

I’m going to add things I see throughout the day, so keep checking.  When added, I’ll put the word “Updated” in the title.  So far, here’s what I see for the upcoming week:  Dominicks has a supercoupon for  $.79 Kleenix.  Well, waltz on over to the Jewel insert and you’ll find a  .25 mfr coupon.  Stack and you will take home Kleenix for 4 cents.  Unfortunately, as with most Dominicks deals, it’s a limit one.  Whenever I’m at Dominicks, I steer over to the clearance meat section.  I’ve gotten some incredible deals there.  I also carry sausage company coupons (Jimmy Dean, Tennessee Pride, etc.), since these tend to get marked down limbo-low the closer to the exp. date they get ($.69 Jimmy Dean, anyone?).  Not every Dominicks has a great selection; I’ve heard about gray meat from a few readers…  That said, if you can find a few great pieces for 30 or 50% off, well, then, that $10 supercoupon threshold is an easy one to meet.  Also noted a great deal on Classico pasta sauce.  It’s BOGO and there’s a BOGO coupon in the 1/10/10 SS (expired 2/28/10).  The sizes match up, so it should work, but this is Dominicks, so, ymmv!

Don’t forget:  Dominicks takes expired coupons back one year.

Kelloggs Eggo, part two

Well, of course you can’t have too many waffles!  These things are mighty addicting, just toast, butter and some cinnamon.  You don’t want to know how many boxes we’ve already gone through.  Same deal as earlier post, so a MM.
