out & about shopping during a heat wave

Hey, if you compare today’s 5º high to yesterday’s -17, the teenage white boys are gonna be wearing shorts!  Stopped off at Walgreens to see if the Colgate $1.50 RR was still working on the .75 oz travel size – it was!  While I read about this much earlier, there was no reason to face the elements for the possibility of a free tube of toothpaste.

Photo.jpg Stopped at Jewel for tortillas and naturally gravitated towards the clearance cart. Lots and lots of Planters nut mixes (chocolate, butter toffee & more) – there’s a $1/2 coupon in the 11/17 S. Also lots of Pringles holiday flavor chips like Pecan Pie and Cinnamon for 40¢ a can – use the $1/4 coupon from 1/5 rp2.  They pulled out another large load of the Betty Crocker Pumpkin Bars pouches for 25¢ – use the .75/2 from 12/15 S for overage.

My first thought on the Pringles Pecan Pie was that it was gonna be a total yuckfest.  I wanted the two cans of cinnamon, but some guy ahead of me grabbed them both – he didn’t have coupons so paid the full 40¢ price – sucker!  These are actually kinda cool-tasting!  And I shall probably grab a few more cans…

  1. I was impulsively suckered into a can of the Pecan Pie Pringles without a coupon a couple months ago.. I think I paid a whole $1 for them at Jewel! Yikes. But I liked them. They kinda tasted like french toast?
