Jewel and two Wags – it ain’t pretty…

Jewel was supposed to get my case of Dole Tropical Fruit jars last night – I know they were hoping I’d stick around yesterday and help unload the truck – staff budget cuts and all.  Sorry, Charlie, Goddess might have been born at night…but it wasn’t last night!  So the warehouse was out and I must return.

No Manishewitz broth (which is actually okay, ’cause they’ll order me a case or two) and when I checked out with my one lonely box of Morton kosher salt ($1.99 in today’s ad), it rang up at $2.99, which meant no cash changed hands.

Drove to 75th and Wherlli in Naperville to check out the new Walgreens and their Grand Opening Specials.  Well, actually, I just wanted to use the $3/$10 store coupons on the ad wrap-around.  Running  AZO and Estroven in one transaction would push you over the top and make this deal even sweeter.

Puhlease – this store had zip, zero, zilch of any Register Reward items.  The end caps were filled with stupid fluffy things; not one was devoted to any sale items.  The aisles (from what I saw) had lots of spaces where RR items would be, if they had any RR items in stock.  The busiest place in the store was the photo counter…where people were lined up to get refunds.  And while he was nice, the Asst Mgr clearly had no idea what the RR items were.  My verdict – FAIL!  Not worth another trip.

Stopped back at the friendly Lisle Wags and took six Estroven and six AZO creams.  You have two ways to run this:  Buy one of each, use the two coupons and pay out about $10+ or buy one AZO with coupon and use the $5 RR with a filler to buy the Estroven.  I’m tired of fillers, so just took the hit.  It’s not like I won’t find something to buy with them!

  1. thanks for scouting out the new Werlhi store. I was curious about the $3/10 coupon but sounds like not worth the trip. btw, did they have the wrap with the $3 coupon in the store or are these only available for delivered paper?

  2. I didn’t know it was you at the time, but I saw you at Lisle. I was just getting ready to check out at the beauty counter and you were talking to Mr. Smiley!
