Christina shops Wags for gum & eye candy

I’ve posted before some of the trials and tribulations of Christina – remember she of the no water?  Here’s her latest…

So, I had to share my gum experience and such… When I went on Friday, I had previewed my Wags ad and didn’t see much for this week, so I decided to burn some of the RR. I ‘needed’ a few things and some gum, of course. And, of course, you know this story is always going to be longer, because, well… it’s me!

I assume you guys got some weather on Thursday night, as I think we run a little similar in weather patterns. We had lots of places without power. Wags had a outage problem and they spent 2 hours reprogramming the computers. Then, I came in. I got my goodies and watched the register tick down. I had given 15 year old money for coffee, since school had a delay as well, and so I just grabbed my debit card for my $1.52 purchase. When I swiped it, I took the system back down.   Mind you, it has taken awhile to run ALL those coupons.  I know you know what I mean. She looks at me and I look at her and we burst out laughing.  There is no way I am going to make her rerun all this manually to pay with cash.  We decide I will come back later and grab my stuff.   It turns out the sale did ring all the way thru and I only needed to hand over my coupons. Bonus, as Hubs and I were both there and he may have just fallen over if he had to stand there and watch a ringing up of that magnitude. He is male and while patient, he is male.

Needless to say they are all getting to know me there.  The one manager (assistant???) that is a supreme asshole is gone, I believe. He has issues and has no business in management or perhaps even working with the general public. (Especially in the snooty area I live in. They eat you alive out here!) I won’t even deal with him, because he is so condescending. I have witnessed him arguing with so many customers.  On the flip side, the other managers are all awesome! I’ve never cleared a shelf (Minus the ‘Fruity Pepples’ for camping, back in the spring, and I spread the wealth around and covered all of them! And they didn’t ‘know’ me yet either.) So, that great news is that the manager that’s helped me the most lately, is so HOT!  Seriously!  It is making Wags my favorite store all over again! I happened upon another 32 of the coupons for gum and went last evening. He rang it thru and I gotta tell ya… HE made getting FREE gum sheer joy! He has figured out I am not paying for much or he is paying ME to take stuff off his hands.  He is the first one that seems to get it, yet he sees the value in his sales too. And did I mention that he is hot?! Skippity do dah!

Now that I have this huge patch of grass that’s currently dirt, I plan on building a friendly little graveyard on the side of the house. The neighbors aleady know we are batshit crazy and ran a bout with waterlessness, so they shouldn’t even bat an eye at this.  It IS Halloween soon, so this is good clean family fun!  (At least for our family…) The heads are currently being stipped of paint.  Giggle, giggle… I am sure some photos of the progress shall abound!

and we look forward to those photos….

  1. This is somewhat off topic but I thought some wags turned on their RR deals on Sat. night say after 9 p.m. Stopped at the Cary wags on my way home from work and the sale price came up but NO RR. The lady in charge said they NEVER turn them on early..she said at 24 hr. stores they start at midnight…Goddess do you know if what she said is true? I SWORE some places have the deals running early.

    • No, No, and hell to the nth No. Some Wags start their sales early, but none of them ever starts an RR early. I honestly don’t think they can, because that part is handled by Catalina Marketing. A store manager can go into their computer system to adjust prices, coupon codes, but you’re on your own for the Register Rewards. Only way around this would be to buy the item, and then return it the next day and rebuy it (this is for a sale item that you believe will disappear the next day). I don’t recommend this approach ’cause it’s a lot more work for the staff and staff remembers people who cause them more work…
