Stopped in to post-redeem coupons for the Jimmy Dean breakfast biscuits I bought yesterday and PITA wandered off to check the freezer clearance end cap – again!  Well, good thing because she found a whole heap of new clearance items! My total before coupons was just under $200 – – ran home to clip and got the total down to $50. Wish it were less, but some of the frozens didn’t have coupons, but they were so cheap – like 25¢ for the Michelina lasagna – that I bit the bullet. And PITA found one pound boxes of Blue Ribbon white rice for 10¢ each…so we took them all.  I must say that this week Jewel has some really kickass produce prices:  We got 10 limes for $1, 3 mangos for $1, raspberrries were 99¢ a container (although one scanned at 98¢!).  Was tempted by the avocadoes and mushrooms…

When we returned to post-redeem, PITA found these Hormel Compleats marked clearance.  They scanned at 50¢ each and there’s a $1/2 coupon in the 5/3 S2, so it followed us home.  You know how it goes…

These are the 1/2 pounders, not the juniors, making them $2 a pound.  Sign in the butcher case reads “Limit 10” … so pick up the 3- and 4-count pre-packs in the coolers.  This is an incredible price, especially since we’re just heading into grilling season (I was gonna say warmer weather – sigh) and they freeze very, very well.  trust me on this…

Buy one or more pouches of the Marzietti croutons on sale this week for $1 at Jewel and you’ll get a 50¢ catalina coupon spit out (not a OYNO cat).  Mind you, there are 75¢ coupon in the 3/22 S which makes them only 25¢, but some people might be jonesing from crouton-deprivation and have only a few coupons.  don’t know anyone like that, but you never know…

Sadly, it’s only the dipping sauce that’s free this week at Jewel with the $1 coupon in the 5/10 S.  If your store doesn’t stock the Sweet Baby Ray’s Dipping Sauce, have them place a special order since it’s in the Jewel warehouse, or drive to another location.  If you feel the need for actual marinade, the Friday, Saturday & Sunday special offers Sweet Baby Ray for 77¢…unfortunately, we only have a $1/2 coupon, so you’ll be paying 27¢ a bottle.

Had incredible portobello mushroom “burgers” yesterday on those little Brownberry thin Sandwich buns (free from DT) and a nice helping of melted asiago cheese.  DH and I ate one, while PITA ate TWO!  FirstBorn never met a mushroom that he liked, which is why I bought six more at Jewel today, along with a couple of avocados.  Found quite a few packages of clearance sole and grabbed them all – another thing FirstBorn hates.  They’re simmering in butter and Old Bay seasoning as I type – great to reheat for a quick lunch for PITA and/or me.

Found a couple of packages of flour tortillas on clearance at DT for 50¢ each, so we’ll celebrate Cinco de Mayo with Mexican rice, black beans and quesadillas with Beyond Meat chicken strips, asiago cheese and portobello mushroom strips – take that, FirstBorn (he also hates anything non-meat).

Was looking for something else and happened upon this large clearance cart at the back of the store. Loaded up on high-end yummies for poor man’s prices!  Total was $40.70, got 23 Monopoly tickets and one or two items have little coupons to post-redeem (crackers are for Rachel).  Receipt says I saved $80…works for me.  especially considering i spend too much at the $8.99/lb olive bar…

Funny how I got squat before but now I’m getting Goldfish and Dannon yogurt…just sayin’
