Two teams fighting for playoff spots face off at United Center. The Bulls recently lost key player Luol Deng in a trade deal, but head coach Thom Thibodeau is a defensive mastermind who will continue to rely heavily on center Joakim Noah to keep the team’s defense at an elite level. Coach Thibs is also a fiercely competitive leader who never gives a game away if he can help it. The Wizards will have a tough time with the Bulls, but if players like John Wall (third in the league for assists), promising newcomer Bradley Beal and new acquisition Marcin Gortat all perform well, they have a good chance of taking home a win. Goldstar has more discounted tickets available for this January 13th game at the United Center.

comp tickets to Macbeth reimagined: ritual magic & martial arts
Polarity Ensemble Theatre reimagines its very first production, Macbeth as a neoshamanistic explosion of ritual magic, the beating of drums and martial arts battles. Discount and comp tickets are available through the beginning of March. Shakespeare’s classic play is given a wild, millennial edge that is both modern and primitive at once. A bloodthirsty cycle of corruption and betrayal is set in motion when three witches cast a circle of magic to the beat of drums and wafts of incense. Like ritual priestesses, they draw in Macbeth, the ambitious warrior who would be King. Macbeth achieves the power he believes he deserves, but the price is high. He must contend with his conscience, his ambitious wife and the influence of the mysterious witches, who encourage the evil inside him, helping it blossom, so that it can be purged, purifying the Kingdom.

Goldstar – comp tickets to Mr. Shaw Goes to Hollywood
Goldstar has comp. tickets for preview dates and discount tickets for the regular run of Mr. Shaw Goes to Hollywood. George Bernard Shaw was the Irish playwright of works like Pygmalion, Man and Superman and Saint Joan. Many of his works written for the stage were successfully adapted to the screen — Pygmalion, for instance, became the musical My Fair Lady. Inspired by a luncheon at MGM Studios in the 1930s, MadKap Productions’ presentation of Mr. Shaw Goes to Hollywood centers on the exchange between Shaw and his wife Charlotte at a meeting with Clark Gable, John Barrymore, Marion Davies, William Randolph Hearst and Louis B. Mayer, who are hoping to produce a moving picture based on Shaw’s most famous play. Inspired by a true story, and written with the quick wit of a screwball comedy from the ’30s, this play mines big laughs from the confrontation between larger-than-life Hollywood legends and one of the sharpest-tongued playwrights in history.
