Sign up for Dollar General emails to get sale notices and coupons on a regular basis.  They toss out these $5 coupons on a pretty much weekly basis (for Saturday purchases only), but the threshold amounts change (last week was $30).  Honestly?  The things I like best are the men’s and women’s Hanes underwear – 7 pk of men’s briefs are $6.50 and the women’s tanks, tees & v-necks are B1G50% off the regular $6.50 price.  This is a great price to begin with, then subtract that $5 coupon..

We spend so much of our energy chasing grocery/drug store deals that we completely forget about some sweet savings from the various dollar stores.  Dollar General is my favorite because they gladly accept coupons.  In this week’s ad there was a sale on Purina Tbonz at 3/$5.  There was a $1 mfr coupon in the 4/29 s (the one with pets on the cover – natch!), so between .33 and .34 each bag.  While I like free, this is a good enough price to stock up on.  My dogs think these are candy – even better than their crack cocaine aka Beneful dry dog food.

And yet more new coupons!  There’s a whole heap of Lactaid coupons on coupons.com:  $1 off milk; $1 off ice cream; $1 off cottage cheese and $1 off 32ct+ supplements.  I checked through a few zip codes and finally settled on 77477.  Keep looking, because the milk coupon shows up under health care.  go figure…

Okay, this is a HOT coupon (believe me, I hate to say it like that!) and I, personally, am going to print the hell out of it.  Libby has a $1/4 cans of vegetables Coupon at zip code 12345 (probably others, but the 90210 one didn’t show it).  Last year just about this time there were insert coupons that paired with the sale at Dollar General that allowed us to take home case upon case of free vegetables from DG (I special ordered from Lombard store).  While I can’t be certain that 1) there will be an insert coupon in the next few weeks and 2) DG will have this great sale again, the store manager believes that they will have a similar promotion this year.   THIS COUPON DISAPPEARED WITHIN A COUPLE OF HOURS!

Was just checking through the different zip codes on Coupons.com and found this $2/1 Aveeno hair product on 90210 (they must have much nicer hair).  This is much better than the $3/2 from the 9/11 S insert.  The Carmex lip balm is always going on sale at Wags and CVS, so I’d definitely recommend printing out as many as you have computers.  Check out the personal care items and see what’s still available – even though it’s the beginning of the month, some coupons have low print limits.

Well, apparently there are DG stores in the Chicagoland area that have the Nivea bodywash for $2.  Whether this is the creamy wash in the white bottle or the clear wash, I don’t know, but If you do find this and clear the shelf, make sure you print out this $5 off $25 store coupon to really sweeten the deal.  In fact, if you’re running dangerously low on body wash to begin with, you could buy ten of the $2.50 bottles and use this store coupon for ten bottles of totally free body wash.  and free is the best price of all…
