CVS shopping…or foot, meet bullet

Decided to grab some Vichy this week at CVS: Spend $30 and get $10 in ecbs.  The $9.50 price for small size waters would make the product free using the $7 coupons for ANY Vichy products (limit 4) from 6/26 rp.  Well, not only did the coupon not scan for the small size, it didn’t scan for ANY Vichy product.  They offered to accept the coupon for two items, but when I found out Manhattan no longer issues ecbs or have paper ads (it’s all online), I took a pass and checked to see if vultures were circling.

which would mean that the competition between CVS and Walgreens even extends to shooting yourself in the corporate foot…

expiring ECB shopping @ CVS

Had a $4 ecb expiring today and no interest in anything, but can’t throw away money, right?  Picked up these two Ocean Spray drinks for $3 with a $3 ecb and found four bags of Beneful, so that took up the overage since I still have BOGO rain checks and BOGO coupons.  This is actually the first time I’ve seen more than one bag of Beneful on the shelf since the BOGO sale in February!

Free or MM Fructis shampoo

6625d1dc-8f43-47a5-89d4-721da0bd1761

You have two ways to play this Fructis shampoo & conditioner deal – either CVS or Target.  If you have some expiring ecbs, then CVS it is, so buy two for $6, pay with two $2 coupons in 4/10 rp and get a $2 ecb.

Or choose the Target deal where these four products had a subtotal of $3.88 ($2.97 each) and earned a $5 gift card.  Pay with REDcard and pay less, roll a gift card and pay nothing OOP.

Or do both!

First off, I’ll admit I stole this one entirely from MUM, primarily because I’m lazy I never get the ad in my Sunday paper because I must be too close and they figure I can just stroll on over and I forget to check online.  Bought two Suave Gold shampoos at 2/$6, one Colgate Max for $3 and one Boiron Calendula Cream on sale for $8.99.  Use two $1.50 Suave coupons from 3/20 rp, a $2.50 Colgate coupon from the Magic Coupon Machine + a 50¢ coupon from 4/3 S and this $2 Boiron Calendula coupon.  This is a Hopster coupon that you have to share to print, so share with yourself.  Weirdly enough, it printed five coupons, all with different numbers!!  There is also a $2 Checkout51 rebate you can claim for the Calendula.

Subtotal is $17.99 less $8 in coupons, or $9.99; I got back a $6 ecb (Calendula) and $4 ecb for Suave.  These are both limit one deals.

CVS shopping – 3/20 – rolling along

Still only a few Beneful on the shelf, so I took two and had my rain check reduced.   The Magic Coupon Machine is spitting out a $1.50 SoftSoap coupon for either body wash or pump hand soap, which I combined with this $1 printable; there is also a $1 coupon in 3/20S.  Colgate is on sale for $3.49 with a $2 ecb (limit 2).  Used two $2 printables, no longer available, which is why I always say to print, print, print while you can!  Paid with coupons and $4 ecb.  OOP was $2.09 and I got back a $4 ecb for the toothpaste.

CVS Clearance on Nuance (get ecbs!)

13fa27bf-c87d-4f88-84e0-0571b5ee2bea

Right now CVS has select Nuance products on clearance for 75% off and they trigger the Spend $12 get $4 ecbs promo currently running!  Sweet!  The cleansing oil was $2.62 and the dual phase (?) make up remover was $2.32 – your store may be slightly higher or lower and you may have more of a selection.

Almost-free Beneful @ CVS 2/28

f800f803-d895-4fce-8f8d-9c26118bd5fbStarting 2/28, CVS will have BOGO Purina Beneful dog food (among others).  The 2/28 S has a BOGO coupon which would normally mean FREE, but since the shelf price at my store is $7.29 and the coupon value goes up to $6.55, you’ll be paying a little something (my Jewel has it for $6.49).  Note that the coupon has a Limit 4, which would mean 8 bags, but it’s not likely stores will have that many!  Grab as many rain checks as you can because the coupon expiration date is 5/28 and the ad doesn’t have a card/household limit!!!  and luckily I have a few coupons…808f34bb-60b9-4493-9d30-1cbd981762ad

Almost-free mascara + eyeliner @ CVS!

333f2bd8-c447-4f05-81bd-26c7835862d2Combine the Spend $15 get $5 in ecbs with the BOGO Revlon coupon in the 2/7 S and you’ll be getting both eyeliner and mascara for almost nothing!  I bought two mascaras (9.49) and two eyeliners (8.79 & 8.99) and the BOGO took off $11.69, leaving a subtotal of $13.38.  Got back $10; need to hit $8 to get another $5 ecb.  You can run this six times per card – it’s a fast and cheap way to hit $50 on your Beauty Club!

CVS P&G shopping

Right off the bat I’ll say that this isn’t the best deal I’ve ever run at CVS, but I had $7 in ecbs expiring today…aef5d98e-9220-47e4-a1c6-e5b20690c0f9

Bought 3 Tides for $5.34 each plus 3 Pantene for $12, which only came to $28.02, nowhere near the $30 price point for the $10 ecb.  Needed something to get me over, but not too much over.  Could have picked up another Tide and probably should have – cash wise – but like the Febreze Gain scent (even though CVS is insane on their prices).  If your store has a higher price on Tide, you may not need anything other than the Pantene to hit the sweet spot.

To recap:  3 Tide and 3 Pantene and 2 Febreze (BOGO 50% off).  Used 3 $2 Tide coupons, 1 $5/3 Pantene coupon and a $1.50/2 Febreze coupon from January P&G, less the $3/3 Pantene product coupon generated by the Magic Coupon Machine this week, less the $7 in expiring ecbs  Subtotal was $12.25 and I got the $10 ecb, so technically I paid $9.25 plus high tax.  phooey!

expiring ecbs shopping

0aec89a2-64ab-497e-89d7-1d71f6d1e2f4Well, technically, one was already expired, but since I spent all day yesterday in bed and only got dressed for this one excusion today, didn’t think I’d have a problem – coughing on them would be lethal!

Two TRESemme shampoo and two styling products for $16, which puts me over the $15 Unilever price point for the $5 ecb.  Used two TRESemme $2 shampoo/conditioner and two $2 styling product coupons from 11/1 S (expires today).

Deans milk is $2.69 with a $1 ecb, limit two.  Use the 55¢ coupon from 11/15S.  There is also a 25¢ Ibotta rebate available on any brand gallon of milk.

Paid with the above coupons and $13 in ecbs.  OOP was $1.25 and got back $5 in ecbs plus the 25¢ added to my Ibotta account.
