CVS for freesies

As you are probably all aware, there is a $5 off $20 CVS coupon in today’s papers:  Here in Chicago it’s in at least the Sun Times and the Tribune, so check your local papers for the full-page ad and buy the cheapest paper (Sun Times is .75 and the Trib is a buck…you do the math).  One thing you probably don’t know is that the register is printing out $5 off $15 purchase coupons on your receipts (for most cards).  The newspaper coupon is good today through Saturday, the 9th.  Here’s some pictures and coupon match-ups.

The Magic Coupon Machine is spitting out $2 off oral care purchases on at least 2/3rds of the cards, so make sure you scan yours.  Buy two Crest mouthwash, two floss and one BIC razor.  Use the $2 CVS coupon, the $5 CVS coupon from today’s paper, two each of floss and mouthwash coupons from near the end of the 6/3 P&G insert (total of $1.50) and the $2 BIC mfr coupon from 5/20 S (back page).  Your high tax total is $16.28.  Use any old ecbs you have laying around.  You will get back $17 in ecbs ($4 floss, $10 mouthwash & $3 BIC).  The Crest and floss deal is limited to TWO per card, but the BIC razor has a ONE card limit.

Next transaction is for one Gillette Fusion razor and cartridge.  Cartridges are $17.79 and razor is $12.99.  Use the BOGO coupon from 6/3 P&G insert and the $5 CVS newspaper coupon.  Your total will be $12.99 so use up any ecbs you have laying around.  You will then get back $10 ecb.  This deal is limited to ONE per card.

If you prefer women’s razors, you could work the above transaction substituting a Venus (Embrace) razor and cartridge.  Use the $5 off $20 (or $15).  Use Venus BOGO coupon from 6/3 P&G insert.  Your totals will be the same as the Fusion.  Again, this deal is limited to ONE per card, so pick your poison.

Free toothbrushes at CVS & more garage saling

The Magic Coupon Machine is generating $1 off any toothbrush for all cards – if it doesn’t show up on the first scan, it will on the second.  You then have a couple of choices  Take the CVS brand toothpaste currently on sale for 99¢ or go for the Colgate Optical Whitener toothbrush that usually sells for $5.79.  It’s on sale for $2.99 with $2 ecgs, leaving you with a balance of 99¢ which you pay with the store coupon.  There is no mfr coupon out, so not a MM.

Stopped at yesterday’s garage sale to see what was left – this picture is of PITA sitting on the pile of clothing remaining after eight days of people sorting and buying…yeah, it’s a lot.  Got another bag full (including new UGG boots) for $5.  feeling rich…

Free Milky Way bars @ CVS 5/27

Here’s a great new coupon to print and use at CVS next week:  .75/2 Milky Way single bars.  CVS will have a Buy one Milky Way bar for 75¢ and get a 75¢ ecb.  FREE CANDY.   I found the same coupon under food in lots of  zip codes.

CVS – 5/20

I haven’t posted the 5/20 CVS deals, ’cause nothing was jumping out at me.  The best news is that they’ve brought back the $10 gas card (pictures Shell and Exxon/Mobil) when you spend $30 on specially-marked items.  One of the items is Pop Chips at 2/$4.  A $1 Pop Chips mfr coupon just appeared – print limit one! – with a 6/15 expiration date.  Credit to hip2save.

CVS & Pantene run

Just some of the Pantene shampoo I picked up today – I’ll just take the other bags down to the basement.  PITA seems to enjoy pouring shampoo and body wash directly down the drain without stopping to make contact with her body.  Well, that’s the only explanation I can give for a 90 pound stick using a bottle of shampoo and body wash each week.  Seriously, there just isn’t enough skin surface to justify those numbers!

Note:  Even though the ad says limit one per card – it lies.  Limit is 4 transactions of 2, or a total of 8 bottles earning $4 ecbs per card.  In this case, I really don’t see the need to split up a bunch of transactions to make a bit on each card.  If our transactions start taking overlong and require more than one cash register to be open our stores will no longer look as kindly on us.  And this is the rumbling I’ve heard from all stores, not just CVS.

We got the $3/2 Pantene coupon!

The bonus P&G insert from the 13th includes a $3/2 Pantene coupon in the Chicago area edition.  Use it at CVS in the following transaction (original post is here).

Pantene will be 2/$6.97 (monthly deal) earn $1 ecb when you buy 2.  You can use the BOGO coupon from the May P&G and you’re at the same deal you can get right now.  However, there will be another P&G bonus insert 5/13 which will contain another Pantene coupon.  Use the $3/2 coupon and you’ll be paying 48¢ and getting back $1 ecb.  suhweet, huh?  Limit one per loyalty card.  Even without the extra $1 ecb it’s a good deal, though.  Definitely a stock-up price.

CVS for freesies

Obviously, not everything you buy is gonna be free – it’s just the goal you reach for!  You see here 48 cans of 77¢ sale tuna; two Snickers bars; three 12-pks of Coke; 19 Good ‘n natural bars; six Mitchum deodorants and six little toothpastes.  Three separate transactions.

Transaction 1:  One Coke, four Mitchum, four Colgate toothpastes and six of the Good ‘n natural bars.  OOP was 87¢ – – but I got back  75¢ ecb for the Snickers bar.

Transaction 2:  12-pk Coke, two Mitchum; four Colgate toothpaste and 13 Good ‘n Natural.  OOP was 86¢.

Transaction 3:  48 cans of Bumble Bee tuna; 12-pk Coke and one Snickers bar.  Used two ecbs totaling $18.70.  OOP was 2¢.

Note:  The Magic Coupon Machine is spitting out the .99 Coke coupons but they only have a one-day expiration, so make sure you have $20 in products to buy.  Obviously if you’re buying Starbucks Refreshers and Good ‘n natural bars, that won’t be a problem.  I was also able to use the machine coupon machine deodorant and toothpaste coupons to score more freebies.  These were printing out last week and I told you all to keeping running them in anticipation of this week’s sale on Mitchum.  The toothpaste is the usual travel size, so no sale necessary.

CVS 5/13

This has been a hard week for me with the CVS ad – lots of stuff could be GREAT but without a decent coupon?  pass.  So let’s see what could possibly work well.

1. Here’s the rub, though:  I’ve seen two coupon amounts – a $1 and a $3/2.  Use the $1 and you’re paying $1.25 for each bottle.  Howsoever…if you happen to get a $3/2 coupon, you’ll be paying 48¢ and getting back $1 ecb.  suhweet, huh?  Limit one per loyalty card.  Even without the extra $1 ecb it’s a good deal, though.

2.  VO5 shampoo and conditioner is 3/$1.67 after $/3 coupon in 5/13.  I’m only throwing this out because the shampoo makes a great liquid hand soap refill and it’s worth the 40¢.

3.  Softsoap body wash and liquid hand soap are 2/$3 after $4 in ecbs, if you’re totally grossed out over using shampoo for hand soap.  And if you’re that much of a purist, why the hell are you on my site?  hmmmm?

4.  Dial and Tone bar soap, 2 and 3 packs are 88¢ after $1 ecb.

5.  The Spend $25 get $10 ecbs deal from 5/6 is still running.  Here your best bets are the Playtex Sport with the BOGO coupon for the $5.99 size.  You end up spending $4.58 after ecbs for four boxes of Playtex tampons.  If you’re going for the razors, you’ll need three razors/cartridges plus a small filler to get you over the price bump.  Use the Schick disposable 2 ct for $2.19.  It says limit two per card, but I ran this one this afternoon after the registers were switched and it said limit four.  IDK if this will change by morning, but pay attention.  I also tried running both razor transactions at the same time and it was glitchy as heck and they had to push the second $10 ecb to print.

6.  Finish – Ah ha!  Once again it appears!  If you’re running low on dishwashing soap, grab this deal ’cause it’s a very, very good one.  Finish Powerball or Gelpacs are 2/$7 and part of the Spend $20 get $10 ecbs.   So buy six Finish for $21, use six 75¢ coupons from 4/22 S, get your $10 ecbs and you’re spending $6.50 for six boxes or slightly over a buck a box.  As far as I’m concerned, this new phosphate-free stuff cleans like crap, so I always put two tabs in the dispenser – works like a charm – so I need the stuff to be really, really cheap.

If I get wind of some great coupons coming up, I’ll post immediately – keep checking the daily IPs post because Coupons.com and redplum have been known to release high-value coupons with limited print availability.

IPs for now – $1 Mitchum for free deodorant at CVS

Hurry and print out the $1 Mitchum and use it with the $1 Machine Coupon Machine store coupons currently printing out and score some FREE Mitchum deodorant starting Sunday at CVS (it’s on sale for $1.99).  I’d also recommend printing the OFF coupons because if it’s not on sale, it’ll be on a clearance rack somewhere.

5/6 inserts

We’re getting three inserts this weeks, folks:  Two smart source and one red plum.  Best couple of coupons are pictured here.  Smart Source I has this RARE (hehehe) $1 coupon for Ken’s dressing…in case you have already gone through the 20 you picked up two weeks ago.  Weirdly enough, the second Smart Source is the one with the al fresco coupon on the front.  At first I thought the section had somehow fallen out of the Smart Source insert, but all the papers are like this, so don’t look for any front page on this puppy, okay (the side still shows as Smart Source 5/6).

Here’s the back page of red plum with the coupon that will give us the FREE good ‘n natural energy bars at CVS starting the 6th.  Since there is no card limit (although individual stores always reserve the right to limit quantities, at least in the beginning of the week), you could load up with as many bars as you have inserts.  The al fresco chicken sausages are very tasty, but very pricey; Classico?  well, $1 off two …
