They wheel out and load your purchases as well – truly nice people and run very well.

PandaHall for those DIY bead types

unnamed (3)Up to 75% off on November Promotion.  This China site includes everything you could think of when DIYers make earrings, bracelets, buttons and more.  $5 off $50 sitewide with promo code NOV5OFF. They also have the Panda Store and Christmas Shop where you can buy stuff already put together (my choice!).  I don’t know if I’m more fascinated by the sheer variety and volume of items or the translations…

They ship Fed-ex, USPS, UPS, all the biggies; using USPS is cheapest, but 12-15 business day wait.

my GlassesUSA glasses arrive!

unnamed (2)GlassesUSA.com specializes in providing an extremely affordable option to buy prescription glasses and sunglasses. I’ve never tried online glasses (too chicken!) but the last set of clearance frames with lenses at Lenscrafters set me back almost $150!  This is the Pupil model in tortoise and after the 50% promo I paid $39 with FREE SHIPPING.  The case is hard shell (nicer than Lenscrafter) and comes with a cleaning cloth.

Super easy to enter prescription info; you can also download your photo to try on different models, then line up the red crosses over your eyes for pupil distance if your Rx doesn’t show it.

Sign up now and get 50% off + Free Shipping on your first pair! They also offer deals on a regular basis (like BOGOs), when you sign up for emails.

Where did you go, Goddess

photo.JPG…and more importantly, why didn’t you stay away is probably your next question!  Had a multi-year high school reunion in Oak Park and decided to stay with a long-time friend at an in-hotel.  DH stayed home ’cause 1) you never leave a teenage girl home alone for a weekend and 2) he’s smart.

and after a couple of Long Island Iced Teas, it’s hard to feel the keyboard . ’nuff said.

And I swear I did not deliberately make the picture fuzzy – realized afterward that maybe I should clean that little glass thingie on the back…

Family Time @ Depot Days in Lisle

Every year Lisle holds a Depot Days weekend festival to celebrate harvest and times gone by.  DH, PITA and I went yesterday.  I should note that we first did a bit of DT shopping and had a very nice Asian noodle lunch (probably not strictly in keeping with the theme).

Here’s PITA in green hair and yellow skort – the Gymboree skort I bought over 8 years ago! The front has an embroidered bee on it and a honey bee came came over to land on it!).

Here PITA and I are talking to a farmer about milk and pseudo-milk products shown on the table. I swear this jacket makes me look like a linebacker!  There was also a hand-cranked butter maker and bowl of butter lumps in buttermilk on the hay bale (like making butter isn’t the easiest thing in the world…with a KitchenAid!).  PITA realized that if she had to milk cows – we’d be eating dry cereal.

Modern technology – the saw cuts logs by itself!  Get one of these iron contraptions from the blacksmith and no more slaving over a hot stove!
unnamed (11)unnamed (9)Every home had an extensive vegetable & herb garden, since it had to provide for the family throughout the entire year (no running out to White Hen). You can tell these photos were taken by my husband, since not only are they in focus, he zeroed in on one thing I had never noticed in the herb section – hops!  you drank beer until you sedated right out…unnamed (5)
