Well, that’s what it felt like, anyway! Started with brunch at Blueberry Hill, dropped off leftovers, then headed back out: library, Super H Mart, Dollar Tree, Costco and Amazon Fresh. The latter store was because we were once again hungry after all that shopping 🙂
The best deals were at Amazon Fresh where I grabbed the last Butterball Premium Frozen Turkey breast for a dime less than the other day – $2.08!! Grounds & Hounds and Gevalia brand coffees are being discontinued, so check your location for discounts. This is the picture from two weeks ago – the Alpha Blend whole bean was $4.84 with June dates. Will we use it all up by then – unlikely, but it won’t go bad in a dry, dark storage shelf. McCormick pickling spice was only 10¢ a jar. so I grabbed a few for cukes this summer. yum. It was almost impossible to hit $50 until I added two half & half half gallons to the cart. Threw in a disgusting Easy Cheese for a buck for FirstBorn. yuck. Subtotal for 8 coffees, 5 pickling jars, two half & half, disgusting cheese in a can and the frozen turkey breast was $37.69 after $10/$50 and $5/$5 coupons.
Had my last final (History) today, so now it’s smooth sailing until Fall term at COD; I’ll be taking only one yoga class and working at my own pace on something I find interesting and using a Dummies book. At least the price is right! One book cost me $111 in January (used) and they offered $28 to buy it back. I’ll wait until Fall, thanks!
Pita saw a bunch of clearance frozen items at Amazon today – I grabbed a Butterball premium turkey breast for only $2.18 – sucker was frozen hard as a rock! Into the chest freezer it went until grilling season commences.
Dollar Tree had lots of unique items, all for considerably more money at Amazon and Walmart. Their dupe of The Pink Stuff seems to be the same, only with a thicker paste.

Happened to ask Pita how much coffee we had left and she replied not enough for a pot tomorrow. Seriously???? You couldn’t have mentioned this earlier in the week? sigh. Well, I have a secret bag that only needed to be ground, but that meant heading out to stores, not my funnest fun. Was down to my last half gallon of half & half, so a trip to Amazon Fresh was in order. Pulling into the lot, I threw out to the universe that in a perfect world, they’d have clearance coffee. My prayers were answered, but I only took 9 bags of medium and dark roast.
I used both the 20% off $50 coupon AND the free pork shoulder roast coupons from the ad without any trouble; also had a $5 off anything that I tossed in, but still paid $57 for my cart. Yeah, I saved a crapton, but still 🙁
Dollar Tree was just for those bags of sugar, but they had squat, so I picked up one from the Aldi across the street. Lots of clearance cheesecake slices, if this floats your boat. Dollar Tree did have quite a few boxes of Progresso chicken and vegetable broth, something that’s always good to have on hand.
