Home Run Inn Dock Sale Today

Untitled

Home Run Inn is having a Dick Sale next Friday, April 22nd, from 1-5 at their corporate headquarters in Bolingbrook (click here for map).  Last sale was almost six months ago.

Thrift pizzas are those that didn’t make the cosmetic grade. Retail bulk are perfect ones and you pay more (although cheaper than normal grocery store prices).

They even wheel out and load your purchases – nice people and very well organized. Get there early or you’ll only have cheese to choose from!

2013 DuPage Flood – Happy Anniversary

DH took this shot of a highly pissed off Goddess during the forced evacuation on April 18, 2013 during the worst flooding in Lisle’s history.  The water depth here was very shallow; compare the level on the mail box on the left to the stop sign in the background.  Our house isn’t pictured, but the water came up to the garage carriage lights…yeah, that high.20130418_112520

Happy deranged Easter

$1 off Sunday Trib printable

UntitledAt first I got all excited – $1 off the Chicago Tribune Sunday paper – until I was able (barely!) to read the fine print:  Not good at Dollar Tree and Menards locations.  So you can either pay big bucks at other locations after the coupon or a buck at DT and Menards…you do the math.

my Precious…Ice Mountain

cd264df3-fe31-43fe-8e3c-86559845e5cfThis out-of-focus shot is courtesy of PITA…the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!  My big water orders won’t be in for another day or two, so I grabbed a case of 12 Ice Mountain sparkling waters for me and three 12pks for the non-Me’s!  Oh, and some shoestring Jays ’cause they’re so good (and a money-maker to boot!).  Two transactions:  11¢ and 12¢. Almost broke a whole quarter – they claimed it was worth opening the store but I sense sarcasm.

Bumble Bee & Chicken of the Sea Tuna Recalls

No one has been sickened from eating either of these recalled products. The links go to the FDA site with the full recall info.

Bumble Bee recalled three specific UPC codes of its chunk light tuna on Wednesday due to “process deviations that occurred in a co-pack facility not owned or operated by Bumble Bee,” the U.S. Food and Drug Administration reported.

“These deviations were part of the commercial sterilization process and could result in contamination by spoilage organisms or pathogens, which could lead to life-threatening illness if consumed,” the agency said about both recalls.

The Chicken of the Sea cans may have been undercooked during processing due to equipment malfunction.
