Still waiting for most of the insurance money from Chase. Obviously 100% livable, since 90 year old houses were built to last, but the first year was just getting through it all. This year we concentrate on more basement cleaning, putting in the garden & planting more perennials, more just the little stuff we couldn’t do last year. Just ripped up the kitchen flooring (to the good oak beneath) and the smell of cigarette smoke (we’ve never smoked!) & sewer between the tile and underlayment was enough to knock you out. IMMEDIATELY took it piece by piece outside. Kitchen smells totally better now and DH has stopped blaming dogs …
The joys of ownership! I totally hear you! When we moved into ours and started pulling up flooring, it was beyond nasty! They must have been homeless people and had lions and smoked anything for that much of foulness!!!
I am glad to hear progress, as that was unreal! I hope the insurance money is in the mail, or at least coming soon. My brother’s was excluded, so he ate it on that. AND the house is gorgeous, but no one lives in it. They visit a few times a year, as he mostly stays at his rockstar house in Naples, poor chap!
How about a pic of the NEW stockpile so we can see how much one Goddess can amass in a year!
One year ago already!!?? My brother’s house flooded, first time in 100 years! He’s still fixing stuff… how’s yours after one year?!

OH! And we had all the kids lay on the floors after we laid new sub floors, and traced their bodies with marker! Gotta love the Addam’s Family we are!
