Whole Foods can’t afford me!

Seriously! You are looking at 36 cartons of SO Delicious coconut milk yogurt and three dozen eggs…total OOP was -13¢. Yup, they paid me 13¢ for my time + groceries.

Mind you, I really didn’t have this in mind when I met Rachel over there, but since I had the coupons with me ran it this way:

Right now Whole Foods is giving $15 off a $50 purchase when you turn in your Dominicks loyalty card.  Super easy procedure, you just turn it over to the cashier!  Eggs were $2.99 a dozen; the yogurt was marked $1.99 on the shelf, but rang up at $1.25, which totally threw off my calculations.  I had originally taken only 24 cartons, but that amount didn’t even hit the $50 threshold for the Dominicks card discount, so threw in another case.  Three cases earn the 10% case discount, used 36 $1 mfr coupons from 1/5 S paired with the $1/3 printables from the Whole Deals coupons and ended by at -13¢.  I would have had no issues with throwing another dozen eggs onto the order to bump up the total, but the supervisor insisted that it wasn’t necessary – they had to refund the 13¢ or their register would be off.

    • Bingo – that’s the sale price then! It’s actually ringing up at $1.39, but my case discount brought it down to $1.25. There was no way to decipher this from the receipt. So even without the 10% case discount, stacking the mfr and store coupons will result in almost-free yogurt.

  1. Do you have any idea how long the yogurt is on sale? For some reason I didn’t get that coupon in my inserts and I’m trying to figure out if I have time to order some.

    • Since there was no info on the shelves (which is why MUM & I were surprised), I would absolutely call your local store and ask. It might be a Wheaton special and who knows how long.

And on the coupons, it was NOT in the Tribune, but only in the smaller papers like Hoy and the ones where you see 20 newspaper names on the side of the insert. A lucky fluke for me.
