Watch those BC expiration dates!

Check the dates on any Betty Crocker potatoes you might have purchased from Dominicks yesterday and today.  Some irate people got home and found a significant percentage expired (some almost six months ago!) with many coming up in another month or two.

Just checked my stock and found dates were November, 2012 and April, 2013.   If you do find expired or close to expired boxes, please take them back.  Just because you didn’t pay coin of the realm for them doesn’t mean you don’t deserve good codes – especially if you plan to donate any of it.

  1. Thank you for mentioning about NOT donating expired foods to pantries. I was a director of one and was SHOCKED at all the OLD items we received. It got to be a game to find the oldest. Five years was what I remember as the record.

    • I WIN! During the five years I worked at a pantry, every year during the postal drive we would have an informal contest – one year I found a can of fish THAT DID NOT HAVE NUTRITIONAL INFO OF ANY KIND, much less a UPC. And this was from an American company, not overseas. Researched to find it was at least 30 years old.
