Walgreens 8/19-25 – Iheartwags takes down ad!

I don’t know exactly what is going on here, but Erica of iheartwags took down the 8/19 ad and now says it was a fake.  Something is off here.  She must get this information from the same person(s) week after week, so what happened?  I have my suspicions and we’ll see how this all plays out.  My advice is to make up your own mind as to whether or not you buy coupons and/or place orders.

There will be a huge moneymaker at Walgreens during the 8/18-25 week, so get all your ducks (coupons) in a row now.  Here’s how it works:

Zantac 24 ct 150 mg will be on sale for $7 with a $7 Register Reward.  There is a $5 coupon in 7/8 s.  But wait!

The Trojan Pleasure Pack 12 ct is also on sale for $7 with a $7 Register Reward.  There is a $1 coupon in 6/24 s, but it’s for the Vibrations line, so don’t bother.

SaD anti-diarrheal medicine in either 6 oz or 12 ct softgels is $4 with a $4 RR.  No coupon available.

Transaction 1:  Buy the Zantac for $7 and use the $5 coupon – get back $7 RR.
Transaction 2: Buy the Trojan for $7 and use the $7 RR from Zantac. Get $7 RR.
Transaction 3: Buy the Zantac for $7 and the SaD for $4. Pay with the $7 Trojan RR and the $5 coupon. You will need a $1 filler to absorb the overage. wouldn’t it be a kick if the $1 Suave came back?

Subsequent transactions roll between 2 and 3, spitting out an extra $4 RR from the SaD each time. Roll as many times as you have coupons and inventory. This looks to be the last hurrah before Walgreens moves over to the last phase of their “Kiss of Death” company plan.

Note:  The Trojan and Zantac are basic items that can be ordered regularly – the SaD looks to be a special item which will only be brought in and available a week or two before the sale date.  boo – hiss

    • No, I doubt it was fake, but she probably got flack because the information from the preview ad (the “black and white”) and that’s not generally released. In point of fact, most of the stores learn about upcoming deals from us! If they wait for the “official” word, it will come about a week or two at most before the sale.

      • Okay, if you look on iheartwags site under comments, someone said that she couldn’t find any information on the SaD med AT ALL, even on mfr site, etc., so Erica said she would pull the post until she investigated further. No biggie. It was a legit ad she posted. I’m satisfied…well I will be when inventory appears and the coupon gods smile down on us,

    • 1. Have huge redrawing of districts, allowing parts of Chicago to be paired with Bolingbrook, Wheaton and beyond. Make them all use the same warehouse, though, for economies of scale.
      2. Dump prescription services ’cause it’s not making enough money.
      3. Make customers buy multiple items to get the sale price (everyone need 4 boxes of Jello, right?).
      4. Eliminate half of the weekly sales ad in print. Just because our customers have an average age of 85 doesn’t mean they don’t spend their days online checking “stuff.”
      5. Print RRs that can only be used at Walgreens. How dare people use them at Jewel!
      6. Eliminate RRs completely with a point system that rewards you with much less than RRs.
      7. Eliminate branded products with NICE ones…
      Any more?
Just remembered: Install all new registers that freeze unexpectedly, don’t allow any impulse purchases after the cashier has hit payment and not even the manager can override it (sorry, you’ll have to buy those cigarettes in a separate transaction, sir), you cannot run any large transaction through or the register will freeze up (I think they have very limited memory capability).

  1. So one of 2 things will happen. We’ll eventually see an ad scan or confirm the existence or non-existence of the Zantac deal and either A. Erica’s insistence that it was a fake ad and there is no such deal or B. Erica will be all in and lose all credibility with her readers. No offense but that close to the end of RR’s as we know it why would she care if no one visits iheartwags again? I’m sorry but she’s been doing this way too long to have posted a “fake ad” and not known it was fake. And since when does she post ads that aren’t from her regular sources? Just sounds to fishy to me.

  2. What I meant to say was “A. Erica’s insistence that it was a fake ad and there is no such deal, will be proven correct”.

  3. Have to lol atEr1ca having sources she just grabs sruff from all over the internet and only credit she usually givbes is whatever notation or watermark is on the ad scan and then as soon as she can get a copy with no watermark or writing she updates to that copy.

Bogo pinatas and actual bottles of douche in the pictures ald anti diarrhea medicine with a CAT on the box…….
