Sorry for the bad pun…well, actually, aren’t puns supposed to be bad? Picked up well over a hundred – stopped counting when we switched from cases to loose cans. Cashier said the orange flavor was awesome, so I just had to try it. She’s right, it’s like drinking cantaloupes! And that’s a good thing!
I dont know how you do it !!!
I went to Walgreens this morning in Plainfield, and the not so friendly cashier called a manager over just because I was trying to buy 10 of them, and I was told by the manager I could only purchase 4 per day !!!!
So frustrating
Which is why that Walgreens is probably way down on the food chain in terms of performance in its district… One thing that helps is that I always make sure to place a special order when I’m buying any quantity (of course, ten wouldn’t be considered a quantity anywhere!). One person is picking up 1150 cans tomorrow at Steeple Run – could you just imagine your store being confronted with that kind of sale?!
Did you happen to check if the register rewards on these role? I’ve used up all of my free coupons, but would be up for getting a few more if the rewards role.
RRs roll so very rarely that the entire Blogosphere would be lit up. Even when they do roll (like the Kotex U a couple of weeks ago), corporate usually shuts it down within a day or so. That’s why I always tell people to immediately hit up their local Wags on a roll situation, because it’s not gonna last.
This is why i just love Walgreens off summit. I was told about the Orange Flavor as well so i had to drank one while she rang my 100 transactions. I agree it is Delicious Lol
I did my transactions for the Starbuck Refreshers on Summit St in Elgin with no problems. Great Job…Deranged me
I LOVE that store!!! I’m thinking of hitting them up for the 6/3 roll, since it’s mostly low tax stuff. That’s the only thing that works again them, the Crook County taxes: 9% high and 2.25% low. ouch! But for a great store like this and great deals, I’ll road trip…
So random question….since these are RR, they have to run each one separately right? So, the person picking up the 1150 cans? …. Wonder if there is a deal for travel/folding chairs around to use while all these transactions are run? 😉
It runs surprisingly fast! The trick is to buy a Wags gift card that is run every transaction, so instead of wasting time handing over money and getting change, etc., the cashier just scans the card and hands over the RR and receipt. easy-peasy! I took about 130 and it didn’t take more than 30-40 minutes in total. And that’s talking, laughing, etc. The huge quantities are handled by handing over the coupons and gift card and allowing the stores to run this as best they can, on their own timeframe. You pick up the items when it’s all finished. No waiting, no worries about having sufficient cashiers, etc.
Thanks…thats a huge help. I’m slowly testing the waters of increasing the amounts I buy. I attempted to place an order with a local Wags (Kotex and the kids Aquafresh), and neither order came in. Boy was that frustrating…so I think my next venture will be with an “order-friendly” store, even if it means roadtripping. How far out before the sale do you usually place your orders?
I place the orders as soon as I know they’ll work and with what coupons, etc. I also try to get a feel for what fillers will work best. Since the majority of the Chicagoland Walgreens pull from the same Windsor warehouse, you are fighting against all the other stores, so early is best.
What is the expiration date on the Starbucks? End of this year?
The can I just finished was November 2012. Since this is a new product, I don’t think you have to worry. Unless you’re interested in stocking up a large amount, but even so, you’ll have all summer and fall to get through it.
