Wags and Cottonelle

Lisle Wags got a ton of Cottonnelle in, but most of it has already been sold (you would not believe what this costs after employee discounts…), but they have probably another 40 packs available.  If you are shopping Lisle, make sure to hit them BEFORE 3, which is when Jackie leaves and the other one starts.

  1. Are these special orders, or just what the store had? If the latter, thanks for leaving some for the rest of us! Ha. Seriously though, I just don’t know where you keep all this stuff. I see no point in stockpiling more than 2-3 months of anything, because a deal will come along again in that time.

    • Not a special order placed at the store, but the store did order heavy due to the potential increase in sales. And stocking up for 2 or 3 months used to work…I don’t subscribe to that theory any more. However, you are in an apartment and I have a ton of storage space, so you have to work with what you have. Put banana boxes under bed, filled with canned goods or tp or pt, etc. If it won’t expire within a year or more, than it’s worth stocking up for free or almost-free.

      The times they are a-changing.

  2. Then there’s the fact of taking all the stuff and leaving none for other people though. I felt bad so I always leave some Scotts at Jewel when I get some.

    • Justin, you have to take care of your own needs first and not worry about everyone in the universe. If you are on the spot and see the items you want, then you take them. If someone else comes by later on, too bad. We’re not talking about crazy hoarding stuff, but taking care of your own household, whether you consider 3 or 6 or 9 months of tp sufficient stock. That’s why we prefer stores that carry sufficient inventory in the first place: Wags over CVS.

  3. So that’s why you hate CVS. Ya, they got in FOUR of something I wanted, and sold out, then now they got in none this week, so I’m going on week 3, just to get 19 cent trial size shaving gels. And I already did the other shaving gel deal there as well, where I paid like $2 for 2 razors and 2 shaving gels, but it’s limit 1 deal.

  4. Oh and BTW, I’m not picking on you, I just am frustrated that for many of these deals, I have to get up early and go out of my way, just to get in on this stuff. Do you wait for them to open for many of these deals? Are there people just like you waiting as well? Just curious.

    • hahahahahaha, Justin, do you seriously think I haul my fat ass out of bed at the crack of dawn to score some shaving gel or toilet paper?! Really, now! If there is a really good deal out there at Wags or Jewel (or DG), then ask to place a special order. It’s EASY. Only stipulation is that you must pick it up – you can’t change your mind or you will never get anything in the future. If I’m going through the trouble of clipping a hundred coupons (for example), then I will make damned certain that they will get the product in. And that, my friend, is why CVS will never overtake Walgreens in sales or in my heart.

  5. I totally don’t feel bad stocking up on what I need! As my kids (21 months and 3.5 years old) grow, they eat at an alarming rate lol…especially produce! I had to do some impromptu grocery shopping at while at our summer house in bumfuck Wisconsin this weekend and was totally aghast at how little I got for how much I paid. I do feel for people in these little towns that don’t have sufficient grocery stock on items. Eww…it reminded me of the shoddy dominicks on North ave west of Harlem that I stopped in one time and felt like I took a time machine back to a Soviet Union run grocery store.
