This week’s Ultra ad has not only a $5/$50 coupon (valid only at Downers Grove location – I was shopping Wheaton), but ham for 78¢ a pound with a $25 purchase (excluding the ham).  While there are quite a few items of interest, they’re putting limits on stuff, so boo, hiss to them.  The Cracker Barrel cheese was part of their $5 off when you buy 10 @ $2.88 each, so I picked up ten, used the $1 3/23 SS coupon, plus two pounds of Challenge butter ($2.28, limit two) using this $1.00/1 printable (wording on the coupon says use at Jewel/Osco, but it’s a mfr coupon; cashier called mgr ’cause she wasn’t sure and they said if it’s a mfr coupon it doesn’t matter what the other wording says).  I’ve printed out a number of those coupons (picked up two more in a second transaction) and will redeem later in the sale week – better to have the coupon and not use it than see that dreaded “print limit reached” wording!  Total OOP was $31.61, but it included two gallons of Organic Valley whole milk (had a BOGO milk printable for up to $4 from a very limited contest…and was given to me by Rachel).

So this one $6 ham will provide a very nice dinner with mashed potatoes and veggies, thick slices of leftovers with eggs for Sunday morning breakfast, a ham, cheese & potato casserole during the week and the remainder and bone?  Need you ask – – soup!

And I, too, am surprised we have gone through most of the 128 pounds of cheese  from Dominicks…
