Our first mistake stop was the SuperTarget to dump a bunch of coupons (well, at least I’m being honest). Good news is that the Air Wick candles that were $2.99 are on clearance for $2.54 – unfortunately, I had one coupon ’cause they had lots on the end cap. Here’s the loot: 4 boxes of cuties ($1 coupons); 4 Beneful dinner ($2 coupons); 3 NYC polish (Target & All You coupons); 21 Eveready batteries, assorted types ($1 coupons 10/3 and 11/21); 24 Wonka Bars on clearance for $1.38 (IP coupons). Total came to $98+. Seriously…after coupons we were at $19.69, so I burned a few of my many gift cards… The last time I was at Target I had problems with some coupons (hahahaha), not coming off. The supervisor, Dennis, was very helpful and made the deal work. This time, not so helpful. The only coupons that wouldn’t come off were 3 Target coupons for the nail polish, so the cashier called him over and surprisingly enough, he remembered me. Made some comment about coupon problems again (which I chose to consider a joke) and then retreated to the wall where he started talking on his little walkie-talkie about the customer at register 11 giving them problems with coupons, had been there before with coupons, etc. And definitely loud enough for me (and anyone else who actually gave two shits about him) to hear. I mentioned to the cashier that if he didn’t moderate his tone he was going to have a close personal contact with my fist. Actually thought about using the red phone, but you know what? Sometimes the best revenge is to have my legitimate coupons bring the total down from $100 to zip, knowing that I’m walking out the store and he ain’t…
Next we tried to get more fudge at another Fannie May: they were all out, too. sigh… Hallmark at Danada Square doesn’t carry the assortment of chocolate candy that others do (made by Fannie May, conveniently), double sigh... stopped at Wendy’s for burger, chicken nuggets, two fries: $2.14 (spending money like a drunken sailor).
Last stop was Jewel to check on my special order of chicken broth. Yeah! it was in, so got my 12, along with 5 more hummus, 3 tortillas, cilantro, peppers and a loaf of rosemary/olive oil bread. Total after coupons was $10.07, so burned a few RRs and forked over $3.07. Gah!!!!! everyone wants my money!
