Based on a true story, The Roper follows a petty criminal in 1876 Chicago who’s hired by the U.S Secret Service to infiltrate a gang of Irish counterfeiters. Soon he stumbles on a shocking plot to commit one of the strangest crimes in American history: stealing President Lincoln’s body. Now this “roper,” aka informant, is knee-deep in trouble.
